Royal Blues
So I decided to get a start on the Brew Crew. First up, the Seattle Pilots. 1969 was their only year of existence, before they packed up and moved to Milwaukee. That's the MLB 100th anniversary patch on the left sleeve. Unfortunately, I can't get the gold bar beneath the "S" to extend any further, due to mapping issues. I made my own texture for the jersey and pants after seeing many pics of the jersey, such as this one: Comments/suggestions thus far?
kgbaseball
The texture looks great on the last jersey.

Royal Blues
Thanks guys. Knowing you guys appreciate it makes it worth doing. Anyway, I made some slight modifications to the Pilots unis (pant and sleeve piping) and made the road jersey script a little smaller: And here are the 1970 home and road unis. They used the same piping as the Pilots. In '71, which I'll preview tomorrow or early next week, it was only used on the road uniform, then phased out. I'll try to finish off the '70s in the next couple days as I have some days off coming up.
NYY_rich
How do you make those jerseys look so good? I wish my first attempt at a jersey looked that good...
Royal Blues
Heh, believe me, my first attempt was not all that great. In fact, I have a bunch of Minor League uniforms I need to go back and update, since I've learned a lot since I started doing uniforms. So I had a fairly busy night tonight Lots of uniforms done in a matter of about 7 hours. It took me awhile, but I found a good enough reference to finish off the piping for the '71 home unis: In '72, the road jersey script was changed to match the home jersey. They also went away from the buttoned jerseys: '72 also saw another change in the piping on the home uniform. This would be what the Brew Crew wore until '78: '74 saw the introduction of yellow to the road caps. This, too, lasted through the '77 season (not shown: the team wore yellow socks under the blue stirrups for road games): The pinstripes came to be in '78. This is also when the ever-populer "mb" glove logo was introduced. This particular uniform was the standard for 11 long years: '78 also brought about a changing of the guard in the road jersey script (as well as the cap logo, of course): In '85, the beloved powder blue road uniforms were traded in for grey (not shown: in '86, the cap was changed to all blue to match the home uniform). This uniform, like the home version, lasted through the '89 season: Now for the questions: For the road uniforms that included the blue and yellow caps (I mean both the M logo and the mb glove logo), were the road helmets also yellow and blue, or were they all blue? I found a number of patches on sportslogos...I know the year they were introduced. Can anybody tell me if these were actually worn, and, if so, on which sleeve? Dressed to the Nines isn't very clear on the sleeve patches. 20th Anniversary logo 25th Anniversary logo Sully Memorial Harvey Keunn Memorial Final year of County Stadium Home to Heroes 150th Anniversary of Milwaukee 150th Anniversary of Wisconsin '75 All-Star Game '02 All-Star Game Do you guys even want this many variant uniforms anyway? One more thing...can anybody help me find these scripts? Sportslogos doesn't have them. I could possibly create the road script by drawing or cloning in the tail, but I'm having a hard time finding anything for the home script. ozzi22
I think their helmets had white and blue kind of like the late 70's twins batting helmets.

fizzjob
I may have those Brewers scripts somewhere... In fact, I must have it somewhere. 'Cause that sure implies that I do. If I can find it, I'll send it to you.
Royal Blues
Ozzi (or anybody else), can you tell me what years they wore that helmet, and if they had any other different helmets other than solid blue? Rich, thanks for that. That's a huge help. If everybody wants patches, I'll make seperate fsh files. Fizz, first things first...check your e-mail if you haven't already Second, I actually just got done piecing together scripts for both home and road from a few different pics of jerseys:

Royal Blues
Well, I discovered some new techniques for the cap logos, scripts and piping as I was working on this pack, so I'll be redoing the ones I've already finished for you. I only have three more to go, and I'll get to them as soon as I finish off the Brewers.
ozzi22
It looks like they wore the white and blue batting helmets from 1979-1986. I am going by the baseball card sets. Usually the pictures are from spring training of that season . So if I am off it may be by one season.

Royal Blues
I think I'm pretty much done, other than picking accessories and making portraits. In '94, the script was completely changed to a block style, with larger letters bookmarking the inside letters. This particular style lasted 3 seasons: Here's a better view of the '94 patches (125th Anniversary of MLB, 25th Anniversary of Brewers): And the 150th Anniversary of Milwaukee patch, worn in '96: In '97, the script was tweaked a little, so the outside letters (B and S on the home, M and E on the road) matched the size of the inner. I had to edit the heck out of the prior script, took me about two hours of scaling and skewing to get it just right. I also made the cap/helmet logo from scratch: Jackie Robinson comemmorative patch worn in '97: 150th Anniversary of Wisconsin patch from '98: County Stadium patch, '99: Like my Blue Jays pack, I decided not to do the current uniform, which was introduced in 2000, as KC has it perfected.
