jhrim86
Hi, when I run this game on 1280x1024x32 resolution, the game runs REALLY REALLY fast. But when I run it on other resolutions, the game speed goes to normal. It wasn't like this before, the game ran fine on 1280x1024x32 resolution for the last couple years, but it happened today. How do I fix this?
djmakaveli
Umm wouldnt it be slower at the higher resolution cause it takes more memory? Turn on VSYNC and some other settings in ur CP.
jhrim86
no no, the problem is, it runs like on this turbo mode where it moves at like 200% speed. its SUPER fast.
djmakaveli
Max out the video card settings....only thing i can think of.
jhrim86
whew, finally fixed it on my own. it was the AGP speed. it was set at 8X and i toned it down to 4X.
JohnnyK
Interestingly enough, I now have the same issue on 1024*768; switching resolutions didn't fix it, and turning down the AGP speed is a less than ideal solution (although I'll try it later, and most ressources tend to say that it makes no huge difference whether you run on AGP4x or 8x). This is on an XP2800+ with 1GB RAM and a Radeon 9500 Pro with Cat7.2 drivers.
rixmithco
I had a similar problem doing some tuning after installing a new video card. I found that if the vsync was off then it went super fast. Although I still haven't found a setting where I don't get occasional stuttering in the pitch meter and some flicker as the camera pans to first base on throws in the infield. edm
as long as you're using the patched game, you need to enable vsync (in game and in your video driver setting) and set refresh lock 60hz.
golfguy10
EDM brings up a point that worked for me. Any screen refresh rate above 60hz the game was unplayable - at any resolution.
