owls
I have a Dynasty created using the SAV file some uploaded starting the season in ST with kg's 07 rosters. So while his rosters are very nice, I was a perfectionist with my team and needed the right prospects. So I signed the worst free agents, and changed them with MVP2005 Editor. I see I can give them the blank face portrait, or any generic portrait, or some else's portrait by setting the photo type to 1. How though, could I give them their real portraits? Are there open slots that I would put new fsh in, or do I have to replace someone elses, or whatnot? And when putting new portraits in is it still the ol' making an alpha image, putting both in portrait.big with EAGraph and so on or is their some tool I missed while scanning the 'tools' for adding portraits? Thanks owls
kgbaseball
I've got a couple of questions for you: Who's your favorite team, and what prospects did you add? For the portraits, in MVP Editor, there's a line called "Audio/Photo". In that line, put the player's ID number (to see if the player has an ID, check the "Player ID" list by Hory over at eamods.com). If he doesn't have a number yet, post the player in that thread and Hory will give him a number. For the portraits, I'll gladly make them for you. Just let me know what players you need done, and I'll get right on it.

Unfortunately for me though, since I already have a Dynasty created my choice is either to start over (I made several minor tweaks in ratings, etc., to the rest of the roster too) or just slap them into the Dynasty myself. My team is the Cubs. Mostly there were prospects at wrong levels or they've recently changed positions, etc. There is a surplus of guys right now at AAA and AA so most of the guys you had at Daytona (A) are actually set for release or one of the higher levels. So I trimmed some guys that will be over the 25 at AAA and AA and created some of the best prospects in the various A levels (Dylan Johnston, Josh Lansford, Ryne Malone, Drew Rundle, Chris Huseby, Jake Muyco, Jeremy Papelbon, Ryan Norwood... that's it off the top of my head.) If you're interested further, I can go in and write down my depth charts for you and you can decide if you want to make those changes. Do you know where portrait numbers currently end so that for my personal Dynasty I can start them from there? Then you guys can worry about the official numbers if you decide to add them later. kgbaseball
All those players except for Muyco played short season ball, so that's why they weren't included. Depending on where they start this year will decide if they make it into the roster. As for the ID numbers, you might as well let Hory know about them because they'll eventually need numbers anyways. Jeremy Pepelbon already has a number (7697), along with Lansford (7695), and Huseby (7693). Lansford and Papelbon already have portraits, so just update their IDs in MVP Editor and their portraits will show up. I can't find any pictures of Huseby, so he won't have a portrait for now. owls
Also, Kinkade is on the DL for ~6 weeks with a broken hand, Harben is out until at least August, Wuertz is behind schedule so may stay in extended spring training (I called it 15 day DL) to start the season. And Paul Schappert face isn't him. I think that's Billy Petrick. Cubs traded JK Ryu for Andy Lopez (A) and Greg Reinhard (A). Because like 35 of the players are on the extended AAA roster: I released N.Bland, C.Myers, D.Wathan, J.Hart I put John Webb, B.Howard, M.Mahoney on DL After that and putting the rest at their proper places, A ball is pretty barren with a lot of positions unfilled so I put in the top A ball prospects, even if there're not headed to A+ quite yet. Not all of them were in short season, some were in Peoria. They all except Lansford, Johnston and Rundle will be at Daytona very early this year. And the college guys have talk of reaching AA this year. Huseby I couldn't find a good pic for either but I found organization pics for the other guys. kgbaseball
Schappert had an incorrect portrait ID. Change him to 7674 and you'll get the right one.
owls
Thanks those give the right portraits, except 7695 for Lansford finds no portrait. Where is this lost of Hory's?
kgbaseball
http://eamods.com/ForumsPro/viewtopic/p=14463.html#14463 7695 should have one, do you have Total Portraits 06 installed?
owls
I have the MLB07 installed fresh so whatever portrait update that uses.
owls
OK, so I went ahead and tried to insert images myself. I exported a fsh, replaced the BMP portrait and alpha and edited the .fsh dat nfshtool creates to change the references to the ID number then put it back in with EAGraph... but then in the game its just a black box that appears. I remember this is a common issue but I can't remember why it is...
kgbaseball
You're going to have to create a completely new .fsh file for those portraits then.
owls
OK, how do I do that? I thought I remembered there was a way to fix this... like it was just an issue of compression or or a line in the DAT or something. I need to start over from scratch then? kgbaseball
Well, you'll need the 2 .bmp files from the portrait. When you have those, download krawhitham's Portrait Maker over at eamods.com, and it'll make .fsh files for you.
owls
Thanks, krawhithan's Portrait Maker seems like it could make things a lot easier. But, now when I make the portrait with his... instead of a black box appearing when I view the portrait, the game will just crash if I attempt to view it. The fsh file is created successfully in his program and I can view it normally in EAGraph...
kgbaseball
Yep, I should've mentioned that the program doesn't compress the files. You can use biggui to compress them.
owls
OK, so I downloaded BigGUI and opened portrait.big. The two new portraits I added were not packed so I compressed them and then selected "rebuild" and then loaded MVP and now the game crashes before the start screen (at the "Rosters current of blahblah" screen)!! Oh boy...
kgbaseball
Uh oh. Clicking on Rebuild was a bad idea. That's the recipe for disaster. You'll have to download a new portrait.big unless you backed it up, and then start over with the portraits you're adding.
owls
I backed it up. I thought I HAD to rebuild. OK, I'll try without rebuilding.
owls
Perfect, all the portraits work now! Thanks a million kg. Now only to improve my photoshop chopping skills...
