GREAT WORK Kamasutra!!!! It sure would make MVP baseball a lot more fun to be able to have a web page that looks like an ESPN website with stats from your MVP season!! Hi BGrimm, glad you like I worked on it all last month and this month. Right now I'm putting the finishing touches on the scripts & program. Yes I plan to make it available in the coming week for reasonable donations. Over the weekend I'm putting stuff together and hopefuly will get my site back. More news will be posted on the Stats project there. I also recently completed a stats tracker and a super advanced search for players in a dynasty (say you want to trade players and need to know attributes and what teams they are on). As for the pricing/donation: Depending on the donation someone gives to the mods or the site they automaticaly get their stats updated/posted for 2 up to 3 seasons of mvp baseball or the equivalent of 6 months to a year. People who have already donated to the mods and/or the site automaticaly get this service free.. The tentative donation pricing for now is: $10.00 donation: all stats updated twice a month for 2 seasons or a year. $16.00 donation: all stats updated every week (4 times/month) for 2 seasons or a year. $22.00 donation: all stats updated twice a week (8 times/month) for 3 seasons or 18 months. Imho, pretty reasonable they all include all the scripts you see (rosters, stadium, complete stats, league leaders etc..etc.) but the last one includes the advanced search (where you can trade with other teams, find a player of a certain salary, attribute, position etc..etc.. etc.. tailored to your dynasty & the rosters you use of course) and also the ability to edit all 2400 players personal bios if you wish. You also get listed in other's people dynasties and on the stats main page. BTW, for those interested, here's a link to my dynasty and what the scripts can do: Total Dynasty Stats for MVP2004 (Kam Dynasty) Again, more news at the site after or over this weekend

mike06
very nice kam! Are you actually playing these games, or manage mode? If your playing them it would be great fi you could post your sliders. Alot of people have been looking for good sliders but nobody seems to want to post any...
Kamasutra
thanks guys Hopefuly alot more is coming if/when I can get the site back online. As for mike06, yes I actualy play each game (mlb, aaa, aa) it's taking me longer than i'd hope to finish the season but I do enjoy my minor league games more than the major league ones. Also actualy playing them puts alot more value in the stats than they would have if simming them. For the sliders, yes, they are constantly being re-tweaked, i have different sets for all-star/pro and if you're using a default datafile post patch #3 or a moded datafile. The sliders will also be re-posted on the site when I get it back, i've never had problems posting those, but agian sliders are a personal issue and can affect the game quite alot especialy if you don't use a moded datafile. imho, i think i found good values to fit many situations, god knows i've been tweaking them all summer. I'll post the link here when the site is up.

Cris987
*sob* So, if we don't donate, we can't use the program? *sob* I'm only ......15...... asian family, no credit cards, no crap, barely any pocket money
MarkB
If this is a full stat-puller, it would be great to have, but charging for it seems...well, not wrong, but it would be nice to have with donation information, in case someone wanted to donate, rather than having to to get the program. Or maybe I'm just not understanding right. :?
mike06
technically its not a donation anyways...its a charge considering that its a forced fee. anyways it looks like a great program Kam
jpinard
Having a way to export the whole MLB roster set (attributes) at once would be great. I'm confused on the pricing. What if I just want to export the info to Excel for my own use (printing sorting etc)? And also, what if I just want to export the html to my HD and not your site? I don't mind paying for a program such as this, but I would mind not having export control.

Kamasutra
abslutely frickin' brilliant! gr8 stuff. i'd sign up for this... but how? I'm glad it's getting positive input/feedback. Everything is complete, I'm just in the process of getting my site back. An update on that: Definitly this week (Sunday at the latest) As for the scripts/program, let me clarify a few things for those that asked: To extract your stats from a sav file you can download the program here at mvpmods with mlbtinker's original release. The prgram will read your sav and output the same basic stats you see in your mvp game either in text format or in one single html page. It's a great program, although somewhat limited. Not to be confused with the program/scripts mentioned here which I worked with mlbtinker until he dropped out of the project a couple months ago due to lack of time. This beta program was expressly written to work together with (php) scripts and extract a little more data (even injuries, $$ calculations for salaries etc) in a format that is presentable on the web and and allow searching/sorting/displaying in any order etc , doing some calculations(overall team stats, stats for each league, player, payrolls, etc). We were trying to get the maximum out of the sav and have it put into a database, I think we achieved our goal due to the limited amount of data that the sav can actualy hold (notice that all sav files are the same size and they use 8/16 byte formats, just like a console game) Originaly we wanted to push it to include schedules, boxscores, linescores, game details etc. Since this remained unfinished, there is no complete program per say, I use the web scripts to extract, calculate & display the data the way you see it on the pages. The process is semi-automated, i.e. I still need to extract personaly your data from your sav, but it's not brain surgery. The web scripts automate the rest. That's why I offer to update your stats FOR you based on what frequency you want. I'll have a demo setup so you can better understand when the site is up. But from the links above and my own dynasty (...and Trues own dynasty which I just installed) you get the idea of what this is I think... Here are the links again Trues Dynasty (cubs etc) My Dynasty (expos etc..) Another thing is the web scripts allow for a much nicer presentation with custom logos, background, depending on the team/league, basicaly as someone asked an ESPN-style look .. etc.. Just gives your dynasty/franchise more realism imho, and you can keep this totaly personal (ie for your records only), you don't need to incorporate it into a public site, but the scripts will display every single stat that respresents your dynasty regardless. BTW, the emphasis is on stats, not transactions, league news, scores or schedules, simply player stats & attributes. This is what I personally am more interested in, but if you have a personal site for your franchise or use Dynasty Manager, this should fit in nicely. And as I mentioned I just finished writing an advanced search script that allows for searching of any player according to your specs. This was basicaly my main goal (i needed a way to do trades without going through mvp's impossible interface). The extra features came afterwards. As for the person who asked about csv format (comma delimited excel sheets), this is currently supported. I can have your stats converted into excel and email them to you if you wish Anyway, if you're just looking to extract stuff from the sav file in a text format, you can use the program available here at mvpmods. As for signing up, this will also be available through the site, although if you're interested, I am taking requests right now, simply pm me. I figure about 20 spots available for now, no matter if you choose weekly updates or monthly, not counting the few that are already taken. Eventualy there could be more down the line, but for now count about 20 Will keep you posted at the site, difinitly this week Cheers
mike06
How do you and trues get such good stats! I cant get a btting average anywhere near the MLB average of about .260-.270 and those ERA's are right on...

Kamasutra
How do you and trues get such good stats! I cant get a btting average anywhere near the MLB average of about .260-.270 and those ERA's are right on... I guess it depends on your perspective Originally my power and batting stats were way down. (you can see this on my dynasty page at Dynasty Manager, from the schedule, notice my games were and still are almost always low scoring.. good or bad thing, i don't know, guess good since that's what I like) I played 95 mlb games (+ twice that number of minor league games, not counting the ones i played before starting a dynasty and the countless games I played for the datafile tweaks). I guess it boils down to practice and most recently trades & the team you started with. Obviously if you trade for power you will get a higher HR ratio, which is what I did. I also recently (about 30 games ago) dropped from MVP to All-Star, I find this suits me best. Realisticaly, I did a stat comparison per month for my hitting (my own personal hitting in mvp, all teams included) and I'm about at .266 on mvp/allstar. As for ERA, I've always been decent at pitching + the Expos have some above average pitching. I find pitching without any aids on (no strike zone, hot/cold, ball indicator, except maybe fade) helps your pitching tremendously. Try pitching this way on Pro and move up to Allstar and see if you improve. For Trues, I've played him a few times online, he's quite good, looking at his dynasty stats those figures match up to his style of play quite well. The team you start your dynasty with obviously comes into play And I agree, looking at the stats daily I find that the numbers are spot on for the linup I have, except in 1 player's stealing (I steal alot lol) Oh sweet thanks Kamasutra! I'll be getting this Can you send my your batting fisheye camera view? Thanks! The combo datafile mod 1.4 will also be uploaded to mvpmods.com when the site is back. So you can get the fisheye batting from there cheers
