The Big O
The Field Changer mod has been released. Before installing make sure you have the MVP 07 mod installed with all patches and back up your stadium folder in the MVP data directory. This mod is intended to provide low-res 90% shimmer free field graphics for all stadiums while preserving as much detail as possible and should have the proper coloring as well to match each MLB stadium. Other stadiums included with the MVP 07 mod (classics, minors etc.) have had just the grass texture applied to them as well to reduce shimmering in those parks. Many thanks to my modding partner, Trues for all his work on the NL parks and his support and to compmaniac for creating multiple installers for us during the testing process as well as the final installer. Also special thanks to DJEagles, BudHawk, HLFR and superdee for beta testing. Trues and I intend for this mod to be a WIP so any comments you have will be taken into consideration in future updates. Please keep any comments or issues you have regarding this project in this thread. Enjoy!

ntdgg711
Just wanted to let you know that I just installed the field changer, played my first game, field looked great at Kauffman Stadium, game automatically shut down going into the bottom of the 1st inning before i came up to bat. I'll try again soon.

spitoon
Two questions...well, one question and one issue: 1) The readme states that you need the MVP 07 mod in order to use this. Is there any way around that? I would love to use the MVP 07 mod, but I'm sure my old clunker computer will not be able to handle it. 2) I was playing around with installing it, but I have my MVP installed in a 'non-standard' location (D:MVP 2005)and when I "Browse" to it, the "Install" button is greyed out. ntdgg711
OK, I tried again and didn't have any problems this time. However, I hate to say that during gameplay my game does run slower with this mod. I'll probably just switch back to the original fields. The fields do look nice though, I'll give you that.
bdugan
Worked great until the 3rd inning or so, then this happened: http://home.comcast.net/~duganjr/messupdirt.jpg Thats night... same thing on the day except much more subtle (brown instead of dark green). bdugan
It seems to only be at ATT Park, I switched to some other stadiums and they look awesome.

sfgiantsflgators
I'll check this out. Thanks. Edit: Ok, I see the problem. I'll have this fixed in the next update. Sounds good - I was coming in here to say that I loved the grass at AT&T, but that the dirt was off. Overall, fantastic mod though - never really liked the grass changer mods before; but you guys put together a great package that I'm sure I will enjoy. ChicagoCubs720
Worked great until the 3rd inning or so, then this happened: http://home.comcast.net/~duganjr/messupdirt.jpg Thats night... same thing on the day except much more subtle (brown instead of dark green). I remember that happening with boricuapapi's (however you spell it) high-res grass changer. The only issue I've seen so far is at RFK Stadium. It seems as if the alphas for the light posts did not load, because the area around the lights were all black (it probably would be easier to explain if I had a screenie, but I don't). This might not even be related to the field changer mod, I don't know. anyway, awesome job on this you guys. Trues and Big O, it is obvious you guys spent a lot of time getting every park perfect. Also, the quality of the grass is still evident, but the shimmering is severly reduced. Great work! Also, thanks compmaniac for the installer. It's so easy to use, a monkey could install it (well, maybe not ).
Campo09
Great Job guys i remember when the grass changer was godly and now this, great job mod team.
Michael23
This mod is just sick!! Excellent work fellas. One issue that I came across (I tried every park in the Play Now mode) was that the game crashes when I tried to play at Citizens. I tried a couple of times and it happens everytime. Great job. Thanks. My game runs smoother now too!!

Maestro23
Anyone else having this issue? I'm not seeing this problem on my end. Just got done playing a "Play Now" night game there. No problems for me.
BudHawk
I have no problems with Citizens. I have played in every ML park for a quick 1 inning test with no problems. I will be playing my Cub and Yank dynasties and will report any problems. Every computer system will vary with results, but for me this is first time playing shimmer free. I no longer have to wear shades when I play the game. I also noticed when playing in Busch, Fenway and Oriole Park the game will run smoother for me. Remember this is not a 2x or 4x type mod. But it a great improvement over the EA stock grass and raindelays good mod. The dirt and grass color matchups and patterns add personality to each stadium. Thanks to BigO, Trues and compmaniac for the easy to use installer.
Michael23
Reinstalled and and still no luck with Citizens. Can I just overwrite with my backup files with the original grass changer?
Michael23
Hmmmm.....tried to add the backup files and the game still crashes. Strange days indeed. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
mikewienerm
Is it possible download without MVP 07? If it is not, can someone make a mod that is not for the MVP 07.

I'd like this as well...I can't run MVP 07 on my old computer. Also, the installer doesn't like 'non-standard' installation locations. I have mine installed in D:MVP 2005, and it won't install there...
Trues
I'd like this as well...I can't run MVP 07 on my old computer. This is something we can look into. Also, the installer doesn't like 'non-standard' installation locations. I have mine installed in D:MVP 2005, and it won't install there... That's odd because I have mine installed in F:MVP 2007 and haven't had a problem whatsoever. Maybe compmaniac can look into this though.
compmaniac
If the installer doesn't work, did you choose D:MVP2005 as the directory to install to in the installer? Or did you leave it to the default directory? I'm pretty sure that it should work. I made the installer just copy over the hundreds of files to the directory that you specify and install them... And by "won't install there", can you give me some screenshots or a better description?
