HChinaski
I apologize for any redundancy as I posted this as a reply in the above "sticky"-ed subject, but I have yet to get a response. I am trying to use tywiggins importer/exporter to edit my dynasty, I created a new folder in my documents, unzipped the file, extracted the importer and exporter to the new folder, started MVP, loaded dynasty, alt-tabbed, went into the new folder, double clicked the exporter, then watched as all the DAT files spilled out into the new folder where the exporter and importer are, but I don't know what to do next...when I go into MVPedit, I try to "import" files from this new folder, but it does not recognize any files from this folder, it just shows a blank space where contents should be. I also tried to "open" the folder contents, but again it does not recognize any contents. How do I access these DAT files with MVPedit? As an aside question, is it possible to import a single cyberface from one roster or dynasty to another using the importer/exporter, MVPedit, or any other available utilities? Any assistance is greatly appreciated.
HChinaski
can anyone please offer help? I assume that a lot of people on the site know how to use the importer/exporter, I would really like to be able to use it too, I just can't seem to get anyone to respond to my query regardless of which forum in which I post it. RaptorQuiz
I wish I could help you, but I have never used tywiggins (inp/exp)orter... ..BUT - it sounds like you're just trying to "load" the roster file with MVPedit - you can't do that. If it's in .DAT format, you have to "import" it inside MVPedit as well. So use the import function inside MVPedit, not "load." You set where it looks when you click inport under the settings area. To the best of my knowledge, MVPedit will only help you with the rosters, none of the other files. Hopefully someone more knowledgable will see this thread and give you further help. Sorry - I tried. HChinaski
I tried to import as well as load, and it seems as though MVPedit does not recognize files in the format that they are in, in fact, the little pull down screen at the bottom of the MVPedit window says mbe files only, and does not give any other options. Thanks for your input though RaptorQuiz, glad to know somebody is out there :)

Thanks for your input though RaptorQuiz, glad to know somebody is out there You would need to go to file and then import .DAT files. In regards to cyberfaces - you can install them using kraw's installer thingy but I am not sure why you would want to do that. The reason is that all your dynasties use the same models.big. So, if you had started two different dynasties without modifying the models.big, you wouldn't need to swap cyberfaces. Also, the reason why people are somewhat hesitant to answer your post is because these questions seem to have been answered before and would have saved you some time if you were to use the search function. But anyway, hope the above instructions help you. Take care.
HChinaski
thanks redsox. I had done a search, but had not seen my specific problem addressed. The reason that I wanted to import an individual cyberface is that I wanted to use Jack McKeon as the manager of my dynasty team, and his cyberface has been phased out. My idea was to re-install MVP '05, save a roster or dynasty from the original "out of the box" roster set, then try to import his cyberface, originally assigned #491, into my dynasty for '07, though I imagine that this is impossible. I appreciate the reply.
redsox
Actually it is not impossible to do that. I just want to make sure. This is what you want to do right? Take a Jack McKeon cyberface from the default models.big and incorporate that into your current dynasty. If that is what you want to do, then you can follow these steps. BTW you don't need to re-install MVP 05. NOTE: Make sure to backup your dynasty file before doing the following. 1. Take the default models.big file from the CD. I am not sure which one so you would have to check on that. I believe the models.big is inside a compressed.zip folder. Not sure about this one. 2. Save default models.big somewhere in your hard-drive (desktop would be simpler) 3. Open up EAGraph and open the models.big file that you just copied. Look for Jack McKeon's cyberface and click on it. You would need to extract all 3 files. NOTE: Do NOT say yes when it asks whether you want to decompress the files at the time of exporting. 4. For simplicity, extract the 3 files on your desktop. 5. Now open up your 07 dynasty and alt+tab out of the game. 6. Use Tywiggins importer/exporter to grab all the .DAT files. 7. Exit out of the game and open up MVPEdit. 8. In MVPEdit, go to file then import and then import the .DAT file that you just grabbed from your dynasty. 9. Go to the manager page for the Florida Marlins and set the the correct cyberface ID. Export the .DAT files and use Tywiggins program to get it back into the game. 10. Finally use Kraw's installer thingy to add the cyberface files for Jack. NOTE: Make sure to backup your dynasty file before doing the above. If anyone finds anything wrong with the above instructions please do correct them. I believe the MVPEditor can also be use to change the cyberface ID. I know for sure you can do that with players. I just don't know if you can search for managers. Not sure, but if it is possible, then this is much easier to use. Hope all this makes sense. Take care.
HChinaski
very cool, I really appreciate the help. Even though I only see the Mgr. for 2-3 seconds per game max., it really lends to the realism to have the actual likeness instead of some vague facsimile. Thanks again redsox. HChinaski
well, I've actually tried to follow the steps listed by redsox to import the cyberface, but, having had no prior experience in doing something of the sort, I'm actually quite in the dark. Can anyone offer an extreme laymans explanation of how to go about doing this? I would like to to accomplish this, not only to have the McKeon cyberface in the game, but also to learn a bit about the process, I just have no idea where to start...for instance, I don't know how to take the default models.big file from the CD. I do have the Kraw installer thingy, but I don't even know where to put it, not to mention how to use it. I also have yet to get the DAT files into MVPedit using tywiggins importer/exporter. I have gotten to the step where all the DAT files are in the same folder with the importer and exporter, and I open the MVPedit program, go to file, import, documents, my documents, new folder (where all the DAT files were exported to) and the MVPedit says save to MVPedit, but there is nothing there, the window is blank. I'm not sure what the problem is, because everything is going swell up until this point. However, if there is a way to get the McKeon cyberface into MVPedit to an existing roster, rather than editing a dynasty using the tywiggins utility, I wouldn't mind doing it that way. I have a roster in there that I have updated, and if I could get the cyberface into that roster, I would be fine with just exporting it to the datafile and starting my dynasty that way. If anyone can help me, I would certainly appreciate it. I have, in fact, searched for the solution(s) to my problem, but have not found any information that has been helpful to my particular circumstance, so if any one with expertise could lend me some assistance I would be extremely grateful.
