Things That Really Anger You In This Game!!!!

I hate when you offer a fair trade, and the Computer rejects it. AND that the Computer wont trade unless the saleries are even with or below the ones they offer. I.E. Mauer ($360) for Santana ($370) they won't do.

This is kinda off topic, but I'll write it anyway. I bought NHL 2006 just before the 05/06 season (I think) and it was the worst game I had ever played! Then I filled out a survey about the game. There was a complaints box where I could fill in all of the problems of the game. I went on and on I got so mad remembering all the things I hated about the game, I nearly lost it! (In person and in script). If I read that now I'd laugh but I'd also be annoyed, remembering the patheticness of that game!

Sorry, I just really HATED that game!

When you see a cpu fielder running after a popup, taking 10 seconds to cover 20 feet of ground, then suddenly seeing him cover the remaining 10 feet and make a lunging catch all in about 1/3 of a second.

tell me about it. i wish i could have done that in real life when i played.

i hate the way the CPU manages their pitchers/bullpen. I will see the same reliever in all 3 or 4 games of a series....every series.

oh yeah, and also when your controlling one outfielder, and the other runs right up to the ball but stops, even if they could have picked it up a second earlier.

You guys hit most of the main ones, but another that drives me nuts (maybe it's just me...) is batted balls that hit the pitcher. The CPU seems to always have another infielder immediately break on the ball and still throw me out, while my fielders stand around chuckling at the poor pitcher.

You probably have these already, but these are the things that get me chapped....lol

I really love how the third baseman comes out of nowhere to field the ball, when it is clearly the SS's play to make, and then procedes to lose his balance and stumble all over the basepath, and then i have no shot to get off a good throw to first or second, because he is out of position.

I also love how you can get a hit, and its a clear hit through the infield, and then they call it an error.

or when the ball is hit, and a fielder just looks at the ball for a half second to long, before making his move to go get it....hello! ! ! lmao

and that stupid "BIG BOI" commentary

I don't like the way sometimes a infielder will go half way into the outfield to make plays.

The amazing cpu outfielders (better with fixed datafiles, but not perfect)

The whole getting thrown out at the plate. I wish there was a surefire way of dozing over the catcher. Only got it on a non-steal attempt once to work right.

I just can't rob people of homeruns.

My thread is alive!!!!

But seriously now, another thing I hate is how the CPU can rob home runs. I was playing at Fenway a while ago and against the small wall in right, I think it was Trot Nixon going back on a ball I crushed, and he climbs the fence, it looked like he could have robbed a home run on the Green Monster with how high he climbed, with nothing behind him. Classic!

I always hate it when the CPU decides to swing at everything in sight and most of it results in hits...

also, the Barry Zito curveballs, he somehow no hit me.

EDIT: I was wondering, did they ever make mods for High Heat? I loved those games until 2004.

Keep it on topic SF... :rocklicker:

Don't get me started on curveballs in the original 2005 game with Grienke. Not to mention Tadano's change-up. Oh yeah, playing without hitter's eye and getting a change-up. Nothing worse.

The announcers really really suck. Kinda weird though, I think they're worse in real life.

I hate how some pitcher I've never heard of shuts me down, guess thats the price you pay with variable stuff on.

Also the pitchers with the samurai reflexes. How a pitcher is able to go from a follow-through position, to taking two steps and a lunge to snag a linedrive up the middle is beyond me! Let alone 2 or 3 times a game! If a ball up the middle happens to run into the pitchers glove, well hey thats just bad luck. But watching them leap in all directions to take a hit and 2 RBIs away is just maddening!

Someone else said it earlier: Japanese windups. I practically fall asleep waiting for them to go through all the nutty gyrations.....no wonder a couple of them have success against major leaguers...they just lose their patience.

How about those pop fouls that the CPU grabs on the rail all the time?

No Sept. 40-man roster-ludicrous.

How about when your pitcher gets injured, and you have to sub for him, yet you can't look at the other team's lineup, so you can choose a lefty or righty,,,you just have to guess.

All the over/under thrown balls to 2nd base on the DP attempt.

The stupid way my fielders will tag sometimes, with the "flair" tag, like their trying to "style" the tag....idiotic.

I've actually drilled the opposing pitcher several times with a liner, and it's been caught by other infielders in the air for an out. SEVERAL TIMES this has happened to me.

My personal favorite: The outfielder chasing a ball to the fence and getting hung up on the way there, and just running in place while the bases clear. Lovely.

thing's I hate...

fielders jumping up and down catching balls like 3 year olds

cpu optimizing rosters with the cardinals so pujols is a DH when facing AL but when facing an NL team he's on the bench...dumb!

Bernie Williams somehow getting into my AAA paw sox in my red sox dynasty by magic

knuckleballs

the most insane errors

me constantly trying to get a perfect game and the cpu has ALWAYS gotten a hit in the 9th

fielders tagging the baserunner with out actually looking at him like tagging your right without looking your right

my fielders jumping just to tag someone

the announcing

MEAT!

BIG BOI!

now for the good things

its annoying

I can hit bernie williams by aiming the pitch

One more thing, when you pitch the ball just off the out side corner, up and away, the hitter hits the ball up the middle, WTF?? The mechanics are impossible, because the odds of that happening are slim and none, usually they pop it up. It always happenes, and not sure why, and even when I set my defence, they hit the ball the opposite way and get a hit, even with the crappy hitters. I dont get it at all, but its still fun to play. :wtg:

couple people have mentioned the tagging - something to add to that...

when you throw to second on a stolen base and the ball clearly beats the runner...but the fielder picks his glove up and winds up to do a sweep tag, allowing the runner to reach. put the tag down meat.

Another thing, is when at spring training time, They bring up a prospect who is either not ready, or you hate. AND they send down Billy Wagner or Utely, or Baez to do it! (Actually, they send down every good 3 star player)

I echo everything here - especially the "BIG BOI" part - I mean come on, it sounds like the announcer is a teenager whose voice is changing.

Other things are how the computer always makes perfect throws from 3rd base falling away from the playing field and gets you out, how you can never break up a DP and the computer can.

Oh,you should love his commentary, especially when he says "you can't get too many chanches like that BIG BOY!!".

He looks like a maniac.I'm wondering if he's already in an asylum.

And you can break DP.

It is extremely hard for me to break up a DP in my game. Maybe he is in an asylum!

....and yet, with all the things in MVP Baseball that we hate or annoy us in game, we still play it. The thing that annoys me the most is that MVP is still the best baseball game out there as of right now. (no doubt the amazing work of the modders here have made it so :) . Does anyone here even remember what an unmodded MVP 2005 game looks like. LOL) Still one would think that in 2+ year someone should have come up with a better baseball game. Well we can always hope in 2009 someone else buys the MBL rights.
