pfalvey
First off, thanks to Hory and all who made contributions to the 1994 mod, it's pretty awesome. My only problem is that my team, the Pirates, have gotten rid of most of their good players by 1994 and it's hard to get excited about a team whose best hitter that year is Al Martin. So I would like to play with a Pirates team from a couple years earlier. I was wondering if there's any way for me to import the 1991 Pirates into the 1994 mod using MVPedit? Would there be models.big issues or anything?
Jim825
You can import the '91 Pirates from the Lahman database. If you don't have it already, you can download it from here: http://baseball1.com/statistics/ Once you download it, install it to your MVPEdit folder (i.e. the folder where MVPEdit is installed). Here's what to do next: 1. Open up MVPEdit 2. From the menubar, select File -> Import -> Lahman Database 3. In the Team window, scroll down until you find the 1991 Pirates 4. In the Import to Team window, select the team you want to replace (Pittsburgh Pirates). 5. Make sure that "Replace" is selected as the Import Mode 6. Click OK and the '91 Pirates will overwrite the '94 Pirates Things to be aware of: 1. The Pirates roster may contain more than 25 players. Lahman contains every player that played on a particular team in any given year. You will need to cut the roster down to 25 players. 2. You will need to set your pitching rotation, batting orders, etc. Lahman does not accurately store this information. 3. Your pitchers will not have accurate pitch types. You may also have to tweak some other attributes on the roster. 3. All of the players on your roster will have the same face number (I think it's 492) and a portrait ID of 0. You will need to update these yourself.
