Darkslide820
I'm not buying MLB2K7 because I'm awaiting my copy of this game. So there you go. At least one person fulfills your hypothesis.
Thome25
Y4L, remember our discussion about EA recognizing our (the community) work? Man I am a prophet. :toothless: In all seriousness, this site alone IMO helped produce MVP 2005 as well, as Brinkman acknowledged me on his blog when I mentioned a PC version of a 2KSports title. I might be reaching for straws but man I swear EA knows about us. I'm curious, what changes were in MVP04-05 that were based off of our work or were clean room design versions of our mods? Gotta have my for everytime I read about this. :music1:
HardcoreLegend
Man I'm sick of this, we should seek help from every other EA community that does mods to see if they can help us out with this game. I agree. My number 1 wish for MVP Modding is an OEdit that loads the entire stadium and all the graphics from the cram32, so that you can know with certainty what your modifications will look like in-game. I'm also tired of the darkening of the graphics.
philliesphan18
My number one wish is that it would be easier to Oedit and that an EA developer would defect from the ranks and help us to create a new game engine. But, that is just wishful thinking.

The Big O
take out an ad in the paper. Seeking defecting EA programmer. They could be interested... it would be a chance to work on an MLB project again instead of lousy college. They'd probably do it, if you gave them the money upfront that they would be sued for + lawyer fees when they break EA's NDAs.

UncleMo
Shouldn't it make you half mad that you buy a game in which all they did was steal your mods and put it in their game, thus, not really giving you a better game? It is almost like making you pay for MVP MLB 06, and then paying for MPV MLB 07 ijn which YOU ALL did the work. For free. Some one at EA just downloaded it and pretended they did the work and got a raise for their efforts. This goes back a while (over a year) so I don't remember exactly the topic of conversation. But basically it was a discussion regarding how the game is improved by modding it. The EA rep said he knew about the site & in fact he specifically recognized the name of Big Shmooz. I called EA, but when I said that my name was UncleMo, and right about then is when they hung up. :biglaff:
forn03
I think if EA was to code MVP (in the future) the way Madden is coded, it would be to prevent people from updating rosters, mainly. If they can stop that, you will be forced to buy the new version of the game the following year. I disagree. I really think they would make graphics more difficult to deal with because of (conceivably) MLB complaining about the unauthorized use of logos and other graphics. I honestly can't see the MLBPA giving modders problems before MLB would. Also, EA has increasingly given ways to create and edit players in the game, since the Triple Play series. I would find it hard to believe that they would take this feature out of the game. Who wants to play with 2400 fake players filling out the minor league rosters? Also, I personally really enjoy EA's work... and I'm not trying to put down the modders here, because the work produced is absolutely amazing... but if EA was consistently putting out games year after year, and making a respectable effort to keep the game fresh (and by this I mean doing MORE than just updated rosters - continuously refining stadiums, uniforms, adding new features, tweaking gameplay, etc), I would buy their game every time. conception
I bought the game for PC even though I have newer games for PS2 because I like PC gaming and for me, games aren't worth playing if I can't download mods or mod them myself. I have a constant need to have up to date rosters and to be able to modify them to my wishes. So this site definitely encouraged me to buy the game. I'm sure, with the popularity generated by this site, that when a new EA game comes out a lot more people will be interested in it just from hearing about what this site has done. yankees1979
Well here's my 2 cents. I think EA and MLB know about this site and probably haven't tried to get it shut down because they know it helps them look good. I'm sure EA and probably other companies look at the mods here and use them or get ideas from them. You could call it stealing but honestly we have no legal rights to anything here or anything you or I may have modded. EA is still making money off this game and taking away potential buyers from 2k7 and other MLB games. The funny thing is if EA got the MLB rights back and made game with all the mods from here, there would be hundreds of new mods for that game made as soon as we all bought it (assuming we would buy it). As for MLB...they know no one here is making a profit off these mods using MLB logos so they aren't losing any money or I should say no one is making a profit off the MLB logos without their permission or rights. Maybe people at EA see whats going on here and are a little embarassed that some "computer geeks" were able to take what was originally made and make it 1000% better in what seems to be no time at all. I know a lot of time goes into these mods but the EA people have a HUGE team working on one game (just look at the credits) and yet there are people here that make new uniforms, better cyber faces, better looking stadiums with better grass, and the list goes on and on. There are alot of modders here that have way better ideas than the EA people and could make a way better game. Just think about this... We are all still enjoying a baseball game from almost 3 years ago for a few reasons: 1. EA made a really good game that still blows away newer MLB games. 2. Because of the great modders...updates have been made throughout this game and nothing compares. 3. Most of us have no desire to get a different game anytime soon because we all know it would be like going from First class to coach. Ok I said i'd give my 2 cents and i think it was more like $2.02! anyway those are my thoughts and everyone keep up the GREAT work...it really is appreciated!
