JoeRudi26
Looks like you are getting some awesome pitching performances from your starters. I just had a quick look and in your last 4 games, you starters have thrown 31.2 innings and have given up only 3 ER runs - that's really good. Good observation, V. And to think during the Colorado series a couple of weeks ago, my pitching (as a whole) gave up 22 earned runs in just 36 innings! I knew going into last night's game facing Sheets was going to be a frustrating night at the plate. That was his 5th start against me this year, and here are his numbers: April 8th - 7.0 IP, 2 ER, 8 K (win) April 24th - 7.0 IP, 1 ER, 6 K (win) June 6th - 7.2 IP, 1 ER, 10 K (no decision) June 30th - 7 IP, 4 ER, 6 K (loss) Aug 28th - 7.2 IP, 0 ER, 6 K (no decision) 8 earned runs in 36.1 innings pitched, with 36 K's. As you can see, he's been pretty dominant, and last night was one of his best performances yet. I only had 2 hits in the almost 8 innings that he was on the mound. It just so happened, Lilly kept pace with him all night, and the defense held until Dessens blew it in the 9th.
Zsorzs
Thanks, Z, and welcome to the boards! Cub fans in Hungary?? I guess they're (we're) everywhere. Its sound strange in Hungary as well a question: Where is Carlos Marmol. What a real season he has...
JoeRudi26
Its sound strange in Hungary as well a question: Where is Carlos Marmol. What a real season he has... Carlos Marmol is down at AAA Iowa. Although he's been decent, his numbers don't quite stack up to the guys I have in the Majors right now. Here are his numbers at Iowa: 156.2 IP 7 Wins 11 Losses 3.33 ERA 111 K's 41 BB

JoeRudi26
This is going better and better each time. Good job JR :wtg: Thanks, H. It's starting to play out down to the wire. I cannot seem to shake Houston. I could have gained some breathing room on them against Milwaukee, but I just couldn't get over the hump in that series. They seemed to have an answer for every offensive run that I could put together. With a month to go, Philadelphia is only leading the East by 2 1/2 games, with the Mets threating to take that division. In a nutshell, the Central, East, and the NL Wild Card are totally up for grabs at this point.
Maestro23
I see there's high drama in Wrigleyville JR. Good stuff man, and I know it makes each game fun to play. *Speaking of high drama, did you catch the game tonight, Dempster almost blew the save. He pulled it out though. Yeah, I'm starting to actually feel the pressure in each of these games lately. I've dug myself to the top of the hole against Houston, I just can't seem to get out. And to top it off, the Wild Card spot is wide open, so focusing and trying to win each game is essential, especially with time running out in the season. I didn't see the game by the way, but I have looked at the boxscore. I wonder if Lou is feeling the pressure too. :)

JoeRudi26
Should be an exciting series, good luck Thanks, clutch. Philadelphia (leading the East by 2 1/2 games) travels to Florida (58-76, 3-7 L10), and the Mets get the red hot Braves (7-3 L10). The Phillies could possibly open some breathing room in which New York might not be able to recover from. At least as far as the division is concerned. Mathematically, Atlanta (7 back in WC race) is not out of this thing either. Not likely, but it is possible. The Dodgers are landsliding the West, up 16 1/2 games on the 2nd place Rockies. In the AL, Oakland is up 5 games on Seattle, Minnesota up 9 games on Detroit, and the East has turned into a bid for Toronto to stay ahead of the Yankees. Down 11 games at one point, New York has stormed their way back and has played the best baseball in the league, knocking Boston (10 games back) completely out of the playoff picture. I just need to take care of business on my end. Win games, and I'm in.

Yeah, I'm looking for Trachsel right now in the game (Baltimore), and for the life of me, I can't find him. I've looked everywhere to make this trade. I've looked at the previous teams he's played for (NYM, Toronto, and TB), disabled lists, suspensions, free agents. Still no luck. I'm stumped. Ouch, losing both of those guys in the same week? How many games are you into your season InSainn? And if you get a chance, could you post Trach's numbers? philliesphan18
JR - Is this deal going to have any benefit for you? I mean your rotation is the best in the majors right now, and your infield is where you have struggled some. *EDIT* Totte just pointed out to me I forgot to mention the pitcher the Cubs got from the O's (I posted in UR too) - Steve Trachsel. Also, how is he doing this season for Baltimore?

I mean your rotation is the best in the majors right now, and your infield is where you have struggled some. Actually, not really phils. I finally found Trachsel and made the trade, but it really doesn't affect me any. Cherry and Moore were both struggling in the minors, and Trachsel was 2-3 with a 5.97 era. Moore started out hot when I called him up, but Fontenot has done a decent job (especially in the clutch) over the past few months and has earned a starting spot in the infield. Nonetheless, I'll keep my eye on him through September an see if he warrants and extra look for October. (if I make it that far) :)

And if you get a chance, could you post Trach's numbers? I'm actually about a week ahead of things in my dynasty... It does hurt losing Prior and Z in the same week but luckily both should only miss 1 start and I'm 15 games up in the division. lol I plan to use Trachsel in the same way the Cubs are planning on using him, as a long reliever and spot starter. His numbers for this year are the greatest but they aren't horrible either. He's a couple games under .500 (in Baltimore) and has a mid 4 ERA. He's far from an all-star but he fills a role the Cubs have lacked all year...
JoeRudi26
Thanks, I. Like I said, he's not burning a path to the Cy Young in my dynasty, but it's hard to say if he makes it to the Majors. But anyway, it looks like you'll be in the playoffs. Keep us updated. :)

JoeRudi26
Good game JR, its nice to see Fontenot hitting! Thanks, H. Everyone seemed to be hitting in this game, Houston's pitchers left a ton of pitches in the middle of the plate. Fontenot and Murton are coming around at the right time, but I still have a pretty rough road ahead in September. I've got the Dodgers (83-53) for 4 games, 3 more at Houston, and 3 at St. Louis. As far as the playoffs, nothing is certain at this point.
