*With a solid pitching staff led by 18 game winner Jason Schmidt, the Dodgers came out of the gate firing and have never looked back. Top NL MVP Candidate Juan Pierre is having a season to remember, batting .334 with 18 homeruns and driving in 81. Pierre has been outstanding on the basepaths, stealing 53 bases. Infielder Olmedo Saenz (.257, 28, 104) is posting a career year, with Nomar Garciaparra (.316, 23, 103) and Jeff Kent (.254, 22, 68) following suit.

The Dodgers are a strong favorite to represent the National League in the 2007 World Series

Central

*Houston has led the division for most of the season, but slumped in September (10-13) just enough to allow Chicago to get through the door. Only 2 games behind the Cubs, and 3 games back in the Wild Card Race, the Astros look to finish strong with 3 games at Cincinnati (74-82), and 3 games in Houston against the 81-75 Braves.

*Chicago was all but finished at the All-Star Break, down 9 games with one of the weakest offenses in the National League. Solid pitching by the top NL Cy Young Candidate Carlos Zambrano (18-8, 2.41), and 17 game winner Mark Prior brought the Cubs back from the cellar to gain the top spot in the Central. Chicago travels to Florida (66-90) for 3 games, then back home at Wrigley to finish off the season against Cincinnati

East

*Philadelphia has been tough from day one. Going 15-9 in April, and 20-8 in May have forced the Mets to play catch up for most of the season. With Ryan Howard (.292, 31, 83) leading the way, the Phillies have gone untouched in the East up until now. With their remaining 6 games at home (ATL, WAS), Philadelphia needs to win just enough to hold off New York for the East title

*After going 11-13 in April, the Mets have played well enough to stay in contention for the entire season. Leading the Wild Card by 3 games over Houston, New York is still opting for the National League East title. Only 2 games behind Philadelphia, the Mets look to finish strong with Washington and Florida visiting Shea for the last 6 games

Thanks sf, long time no see. Great thing you had going for yourself earlier this year.

BTW, you thought about maybe posting some sort of playoff simulation? Now that I see you're back, just curious if you had planned on something for the post season.

Yeah, I wish I could have finished that, but apparently my computer wasn't impressed.

I got everything fixed and am working on something along the same lines that I'm in the middle of piecing together, probably to release in the next day or two. It'll be a full-season project.

Been enjoying your progress though - gotta love those down-to-the-wire playoff chases!

Looking forward to it, sf. Can't wait to see what you have brewing. :)

Wow. i think i would cry if i lost both of those guys :p

i love using them as the centre infield guys when i play as the Cubs.

At least you seem to be managing with out them. Good Luck in your remaining games. Whats your magic number for the Division?

They're both gone for the season. The only downfall to this game is the inability to expand the rosters to 40.

*sigh*

I wonder if EA would have implemented that if they hadn't lost the rights. I am eagerly awaiting the next baseball game on the PC. I just hope its sooner rather than later.

Yeah, Theriot was tearing it up, I would have loved to seen what he could have done all season.

As of now (before tonight's game against Florida), the magic number is 5.

Yeah, who knows, V. I don't even give EA credit for what this game has become, it's not worth 5 cents out of the box compared to what these guys on this site have accomplished.

On the other hand, I'm not ungrateful for at least EA providing the 'base' for what has become a great PC baseball game. But to not add roster expansion is unexeceptable. It makes you wonder how much the programmers even know about the game.

If it wasn't for MVPMods and the talented modders, this game would have been canned before it got off the ground. With that said, hopefully another PC Baseball will come out in the future that provides an even better base, and the guys on this site recognize it and take it to it's limits as well.

I'm going to work on modding in the off-season, faces, unis, stadiums, and so on, so hopefully I can contribute next season as well.

Did you add those empty seats yourself or is the game true to real life?

I didn't add them, but it does look true to life. With the way the Marlins beat me last night, they might just be filled up tonight. :)

Just a suggestion, but you should probably win tonight. I mean, really.

Anyway, it's just a thought. :D

I thought I had the game won last night. Had em down 5-2, relaxed, next thing I know I'm down 3 runs. I don't know what it is, but Florida owns my a@@ this year.

If I don't make the playoffs, I guess it's just that much sooner I start getting ready for Hoosier basketball. :)

Know exactly what you mean - I can't beat the Royals to save my life, no matter what team I use.

Good luck :D
