Well done sir.

I almost gave up. Again. I cannot seem to hold these guys down. Luckily I got this one, I'm not counting on the series.

With that said, it looks like Houston has imploded, playing under .500 ball in September, and with 4 games to go, I'm all but in.

I've got the champagne out, ready to pop the corks. :)

JoeRudi's Cubs magic number=2

Chicago Cubs magic number=3

Looks like the party might be in Cincinnati. Anyone know any good clubs? :)

:balloons:

I damned near had to suit Piniella up in that last game against the Fish.

Typical! Benitez with the blown save.

Good Work JR, beat up that worthless piece of garbage (Benitez) and book yourselves a spot in the playoffs.

Man, he threw an inside 2 seamer about 800 mph on the gun, DeRosa closed his eyes, and the rest is history. :)

JR, you're at a point you just can't ( :attention: or musn't !! :attention: ) miss it... For what I've read it has been a terrific season and for those who have been following this thread since the beginning, kind of something exciting I guess... So please let the pleasure roll all October long... We're all behind U and your Cubs !!

(Glad to see that the Mariners finally get a spot for the 2007 playoffs or close to it... everything is possible in games !)

Without a doubt, pierrick, it's been a terrific season. There was a time when I was honestly didn't think I would have a chance come September. Even though it was the middle of the season, the way the Astros were dominating, I really doubted I would be able to overcome them.

Slowly I worked my way up the division. 3 steps forward, 2 steps back, 1 step forward, and so on.. Even at 2 or 3 games out, I couldn't seem to get over the hump, but being late July/early August, I knew time was on my side if I just hung in there and tried to win (at least) each series.

I needed a little luck, and come September, I got it. Finally. Houston is 10-15 through this month, and when I saw the opening I had to take it. I'm 3 games up in the division and it's very likely I'm going to be playing in October. It should be a blast.

As for the rest of the League, there are some pretty decent races going on. NL East, AL West, NL Wild Card.

I want to thank you and everyone else who has been following, I hope it has at least been a bit entertaining, and I appreciate each and every comment/compliment that has been posted in this thread.

Now, I'm off to face the Marlins for the last time this season, and try to nail down this series. I need to keep winning, all I need is for Houston to pull out a miracle. ;)

Jay, looks like the division is yours to take. One more win and its confirmed. Great job on the comeback. And man, Ramirez should definitely be on the MVP ballot - a grand slam to get things started for the Cubs.
