What a great pleasure to see that you made it JR !! So glad that we're gonna enjoy your PS (and of course MVP07 :p) skills through october... Your thread is really a "must follow" for a baseball fan.

Once again congratulations but don't forget that make it to the playoff was just a (big) 1st step.... ;)

Thanks the kind words, pierre, I'm always glad to hear someone is enjoying the dynasty. :)

As you said, this is just the first step in what I'd like to accomplish with this dynasty. I honestly didn't expect to get this far, but now that I'm here, I would love to take it all the way.

As I've said before, I play a season a year (since around 1994), and I've only been to the WS only 3 times. And I've lost every one of them. ;)

With that said, I'm taking one pitch at a time, one out at a time, and I'm going to be extra patient at the plate. The Mets and the Dodgers have been 2 of the toughest teams I've played all year, so I got lucky to have them paired up for the first round, at least that eliminates one of my problems. But still, I have to get past the Phillies.

I'll post the Playoff Brackets soon, and let everyone see how the teams are matched up.

Congrats on a great season! Good luck for your quest to lead the Cubbies to another WS victory!

btw, why did Sweeney win the Silver Slugger Award in the NL?

lol, I have no idea. ;)

Thanks for the headsup, it's changed to Todd Helton.

METS OVERTAKE PHILLIES IN DRAMATIC FASHION, WIN THE EAST IN ONE GAME PLAYOFF!

*After going 16-11 through September, and 8-2 in their last 10, the New York Mets tied the division leading Phillies on the last day of the regular season, and convincingly beat them in a one game playoff at Citizen's Bank Park 11-2.*

*The Mets will represent the National League East, and will face the Chicago Cubs in the first round of the 2007 Playoffs. Philadelphia will play the Los Angeles Dodgers as the National League's Wild Card team.*

I wish this wouldve been real life, and i hope the Mets give you a hard time, like they did earlier in your season! :) jk

Gotta ask JR...did the Giants get to .500? :D

Good luck sir...don't you dare let the Bums get past the NLCS.

Right on target, sf. :) The Dodgers are the team to beat, without a doubt. Hopefully I get lucky and Philadelphia takes care of them in the first round.

Bonds (.311/24/86), Durham (.355/27/103) and Feliz (.276/22/85) all had decent years, but the pitching gave up almost 5 runs a game, 12th in the National League.

Geez Durham - have yourself a year. Looks like Bonds just edged past Hank.

Congrats on making the post-season JR. Playoff boards look GREAT. Good luck against the Mets, maybe they will implode like in real-life.

*I've been away on business for the past month, and I"m itching to get my dynasty going again. Hate real-life commitments, but I gotta make the money.

Thanks, M. I've been wondering what happened to you. I figured it was that dreaded 'work' thing. :)

Anyway, good to see you back, looking forward to you getting your season back on track. :)

Since I've had a few days off from the steady schedule of the season, I was finally able to install the '78 Mod and play a few quick games to give it a look.

This mod is incredible, these guys have done a fantastic job. The reason I'm posting it here is because I thought of possibly doing a '78 Season next year, and for some people that have followed my dynasty I was wondering if there would be any interest, or if some would rather I continue with the Cubs, starting from where I left off this year.

I would take time over the winter and draw up some new templates, something in the taste of the '70's and hopefully capture the essence of the time frame.

I would probably play as the Yankees or the Red Sox, not really sure, but it was an incredible season, definately one to remember. If there is any interest at all, just let me know.

Here's a pic from the mod, Thurman Munson gunning down Yaz heading to 3rd base.

My vote is 100,000% for 1978 dynasty. Just sayin'. :D

I'm leaning that way too, sf. What an incredible year it was, if I could manage to 'capture' it, I think it could be interesting.

Thanks for the input! :)
