rambo
Wow, Monroe with a homer again, that guy is on fire. Hopefully he can continue to put runs on the board for you. Just two more wins JR, and the Cubbies are champions! Who are the probables for Game 5?
JoeRudi26
this is a tuff one bro. i'm getting the impression that when I type; "1 game at a time", you get more focused. we both would really enjoy a World Series, so i'll do what I can. 1 game at a time bro. also, after Marmol came through in the L.A. series, i'm a little mad at his little video game ****. is it wrong to get mad at a video game version of a player? not sure, but i can't stand him right now. Guzman either. good luck in game 5. Without a doubt, HC. After playing 162+ games manually, the presentations, trying to keep up daily, there has been a few times that actually playing the game got lost in the shuffle of it all. Especially if I was up a game or two, I felt a little cushion and thought maybe I could cruise on through. Everytime I slacked, I got whacked. Reading your "one game at a time" earlier in the playoffs made me focus on the objective. "I've gotten this far, have some patience, get what you came here to get". I've been playing this way (each game manually, following schedule) since about 1993 with whatever baseball game was out there. Preferably the most realistic one I could find, tweaking it throughout the season to keep it challenging. Someone mentioned the fact that they never see 'heartbreak seasons' in these dynasties, well let me tell you, if I had been sharing my seasons for the last 14 years, heartbreak would be all he would have seen. World Series that I have been to: 1996 Oakland vs Atlanta (Lost 4-0) 2001 Oakland vs Colorado (Lost 4-1) 2005 Oakland vs St. Louis (Lost 4-2) But the most heartbreaking season came in 2003. Playing High Heat 2004, I found myself 14 games behind Seattle at the All-Star Break. Slowly, I fought my way back. The challenge became so involving, I found myself thinking about it at work. I kept tabs on Seattle almost as much as I played my own schedule. I was bound and determined to catch these ba*stards. I caught them on the last series of the season. We were tied going into the very last day of the schedule. I win. I'm in. I led up until the 8th inning, and they mounted a comeback. Beat me by a run. That was it. Season over. With all that being said, believe it or not, I do have a life. But I can always make time for baseball. I gave my word to see this dynasty through, and that's exactly what I have done. Just two more wins JR, and the Cubbies are champions! Who are the probables for Game 5? Yeah, I don't know what's got into Craig Monroe. He's been an absolute monster in the NLCS and the World Series. .368/5/8 Lee has cooled off so much, I'm thinking of starting Daryl Ward at first base instead. Starters will be: Ted Lilly vs Miguel Batista
JoeRudi26
WORLD SERIES - GAME 5 *SERIES TIED 2-2* VS * I had to laugh when I saw the nickname 'Bulldog' for Lilly. He's a decent pitcher, but there's only one Bulldog in my mind - Orel Herschiser. As far as Batista, the nickname 'The Vulture' comes from scavenging wins after pitching only an inning or two, that of which he is known for around the clubhouse. Batista has had his share of pitching good 6 or 7 inning games, he just seems to get lucky in short distances*
