Do you have a recent league standings?

Here it is, Pudge. Glad you mentioned it, I had been working on this and set it aside. It doesn't have 'games back' or 'w/l pct.' yet. I may or may not add them in.

It's pretty simple. ;)

Man all these extra inning losses must definitely be getting to Lou.

EDIT: Oh, this is only a 9-inning affair. I was kinda fooled by the "final 13" in your highlight.

BTW, losing these close ball-games must be really tough.

Yeah, I forgot to change the Final 13 on my template. It was only 9 innings. I'm not sure, but now that you've brought it up, I'm going to go back and see how many 1 run games I've lost.

I have to be leading the Majors. ;)

There is no doubt that I'm too impatient. I have to learn to take some pitches and focus.

Man, the Nationals. Looked like it was a good game JR. Pie looks to be coming around.

They've got a pretty decent team, on paper at least. Their pitching isn't all that great, but they've got a reliever (Clint Everts) that throws 'submarine style'.

I have a hell of a time trying to find his release point. I'm good up until he comes on.

I don't know if this will help you or not but one thing I do to be a little patient is that I look for a particular first pitch from the pitcher.

For example if there is a left hander on the mound and I have righty up, I always look for a ball on the inside corner for the first pitch. I usually do this if the count is in my favor and stop this if I have 2 strikes on me.

As you can see, I usually make the computer throw a lot of pitches that way. Though it could also be because of me modifying the sliders/datafile. Anyway, hope that helps.

Thanks for the heads up.

Man, I just got done sweeping the Reds. I almost had a perfect game with Zambrano. TWO outs away!!!! I had to pick my controller up off the floor and grab me a Killian's Irish Red.

Working on the page right now. Will be posted later tonight.

Thanks for the input, V. I usually take the first pitch too, no matter what situation I'm in. Sometimes, I'll look for a fastball low and inside on the first pitch, and try to drive it.

After that, it's a total guess. There is no pattern as of how they pitch to certain batters. Or at least I haven't seen one. I rarely move my batter in the box, IMO, it only compounds the problem (of guessing) especially with two strikes.

But the thing is, if you look around the league, 7-11 hits per game is probably right on target, and not everyone in MLB is hitting .300. So with that said, I'm pretty happy with the sliders I'm using.

I have no doubt it's me.

As far as the pitch count goes, I realize mine are low. But with experience in messing with the sliders, if I make it too hard to pitch, I either walk a ton of batters, or they drill everything that is considered a 'missed pitch', therefore making other parts of the game unrealistic.

I haven't found the answer for that yet, but I will.

Congrats on the Reds! I had been checking out your page, only saw the end of the Astros series. I'll check in later for details.

I'll let you borrow mine from the Pirate's series. :)

It's done with certain filters and lighting effects in Photoshop. It really depends on the pic, it changes each time.

Is there any way I can do that in Paint Shop Pro 7? Or don't you know about that program much?

Thanks

I'm not sure phils. I have the latest addition of Photoshop, but it should be possible. It's really basic, and it's no secret.

For the pic that you're using:

Go to Filter - Render - Lighting Effects

In The Lighting Effects Box:

Style - Default

Light Type - Omni

Set where you want your light

Select OK

Go to Edit - Fade Lighting Effects - Choose Overlay in drop down box

Use slider for lighter or darker

That's basically it. Play around with it until it looks good. And this method doesn't necessarily work for every picture, but it's a start.

Hope this helps, and good luck!

Good win JR. I see Patterson is making an impact.

*Thanks for the comment on my page over at DM.

Thanks, M. Patterson is looking great so far. It's early, but if he continues at this pace, he's stayin'.

Like I said, great job on the page, and I'm definately going to stay involved. It's going to be interesting to see how our dynasties pan out.

*Not to hijack your thread JR, but I just watched Pie hit his 1st major league homerun against the Cardinals. Blast over the rightfield wall.

Felix...Felix... :music1:

Hey Hey! I didn't realize it was on!

I think I'm slowly becoming a Cubs fan. ;)

I wouldn't grow too fond of teams like the Cubs, Red Sox - they tend to break your heart  . Just kidding man.

I feel your pain..
