For those who have been following along, this is one of the reasons I like to play along with the real schedule.

I was going through some numbers tonight. It's interesting.

Real Life

Aramis Ramirez - .302/13/39

Alfonso Soriano - .317/7/17

Cesar Izturis - .254/0/6

Michael Barrett - .243/7/25

My Dynasty

Aramis Ramirez - .322/13/42

Alfonso Soriano - .261/9/21

Cesar Izturis - .266/2/15

Michael Barrett - .252/4/18

Wow! Everything except for Sori's average are almost on target for what's happening so far. But, you aren't loosing like crazy and they don't have second base issues!

ouch, beaten by Jose Lima...that has to hurt...

Yeah, same old story. His offspeed stuff killed me. About broke my dam* neck trying to wait on his curveball. :headache:

I'm starting to feel the pressure of trying to keep up with Houston, especially after these two losses.

I need to get out of Milwaukee with a win.

Off speed stuff is tricky especially with those sliders you gave me Joe. Josh Johnson of the Marlins always kills me with his 96 MPH fastball and his 73 MPH change.

The Brewers are a tough team. It comes down to stopping Hart and Fielder, IMO. Plus Miller Park is a tough park to hit in. Buckle down, and bring your A-game to the mound. I expect a win!

Thanks for the advice on Hart and Fielder, x. I was cruising with a 1-0 lead until the 6th inning, then Z got waxed for 5 runs, including a Grand Slam by Craig Counsell.

I got lax on him, and dealt a fastball up and in, but still left too much of it across the plate.

I just checked the standings, and Houston has won again. That puts me 6 games behind them, which is the furthest back I've been all season. My goal is to cut this lead in half by the All-Star Break.

I need them to lose some games.

I was just saying common knowledge that Hart and Fielder are probably their two best hitters. Plus I always hate weird batting stances, since I never know how to pitch them. With Counsell you think you can go up and in, but that's an obvious power zone. Plus I would have gone low and away curveball in that bases loaded situation. We'll see how my Phillies fare against the Brewers in my own dynasty. I have the Braves coming up and the Giants. I'll get em back for you.

I'm only good with the Brewers in Miller Park. It must be that incentive to see Bernie go for a slide!

And JR, good luck against Houston, hopefully they cool off.

Thanks, phils. I checked their (Houston) numbers a few minutes ago, and these guys are on fire:

Morgan Ensberg - .314/10/36

Jason Lane - .294/14/57

Craig Biggio - .307/8/33

Mark Loretta - .356/3/29

Brad Ausmus - .302/3/26

Roy Oswalt - 8-1, 2.82

Woody Williams - 6-2, 2.91

T. Miller - 5-1, 3.91

Jason Jennings - 3-0, 2.62

They're 38-20, winning 7 of their last 10. I'm 1-1 against them, but I won't be playing them until right after the All-Star game.

I agree, hopefully they cool off a bit.

Wow, tough loss. Hope the 'Stros go on a big losing streak anytime now. Good luck against the Brew Crew.....

Thanks, apridham. With a current 3 game losing streak, I'd hate to Lou's reaction to getting swept in Milwaukee.

I can tell you this right now: Kerry Wood is on the hot seat. He's got one foot in AAA as we speak. ;)

You're exactly right, x. His strange batting stance is misleading for pitches up and in. Apparently it was right where he wanted it. For a small guy, he absolutely crushed it.

A no doubter.

can I get this too? I think I'm going to start up a D-Rays dynasty in addition to my Padres one, and would like to use this for my dynasty.

I'm not quiting the Pads one, just going to have 2 of them. I have a PC and a laptop and MVP is on both of them. When I'm not at home this way I can still play MVP and have a dynasty and not get burnt out on either of them.

btw, my email is dave.tackett@Gmail.com

thanks.

Hey, JR. I am gonna ask you something, but, if you don't want to do it that is fine.

Could you make a couple of simple boards for me? I hope to get a dynasty going when I get my copy of MVP. Nothing fancy, just something simple. Maybe a highlight board template with a linescore in it, a standings template, and a pregame/postgame template.

Thanks, even if you say no. ;)

Adam

PS: Please, do not feel like you have to do this. If you want, you can just water down the ones you have.

Also, my email is apridham @ gmail.com

Sure, apridham, if I can find some time in the next few days. Keep in mind though, you're welcome to anything I currently have.

Looking forward to your dynasty. :)

*Felix Pie changed his number from 17 to 20 since the start of the season*

*Angel Pagan is projected to start in LF, moving Soriano back to Center*

*Mike Fontenot will start at 2B in tonight's game against Milwaukee*

Man, I hate to see Pie go down, but those two you are bringing up are putting up decent numbers. So, hopefully that will kick-start your offence and help you gain some ground on those dang Asstros... ;)

Me too. I definately wanted Pie to put up some numbers, I extended his time on the field to make sure I gave him enough time to develop. It just isn't happening.

As far as DeRosa, he's been to AAA before, been injured, but still I got him back up at 2B. Same thing with him, plenty of time, nothing happening.

2B has been a deathtrap this year:

Mark DeRosa - Injured earlier in the season

Ryan Theriot - Injured, out for season

Eric Patterson - Injured, out for season

Ronny Cedeno - Didn't produce

I'm going to watch the outfield closely, and platoon a trio of Pagan, Jones, and Matt Murton, and will be keeping my eye on Pie down at Iowa.

My goal is to have Murton, Pie, and Floyd in the outfield, with (brace yourself) Alfonso Soriano back at 2B.
