Any chance of DeRosa being called up to replace Cedeno. Looks like he is struggling at the plate as well. And look at Floyd - 2-3 with a HR. Seems like he doesn't want to get on the bad side of sweet Lou eh?

As I've always said, my hopes were for DeRosa to be the man at 2B. I really believed he would come through, and be the every day starter. For some reason, he just hasn't put up the numbers I thought he was capable of.

Here are his numbers:

Majors - 29 Games

.158 BA/2 HR/8 RBI

AAA - 8 Games

.250 BA /2 HR/5 RBI

DeRosa was injured for a good portion of the early season, and for those of you who have followed along, 2B was literally a revolving door for awhile. After going through about everyone on the ML and AAA roster, I'd probably still have Theriot there if he hadn't had a season ending injury.

But to answer your question, I'm keeping my eye on him, and there's no doubt he'll be back in the future.

Nice win JR. Good outing from Prior.

Thanks, M. I didn't spray the ball around the field much, it was the solo shots by Soriano, Floyd, Ramirez that pretty much nailed down the win.

Anyway, I see you're going into Shea to play the Mets. I had a rough time with them, hopefully that 1/2 game lead you're holding onto doesn't evaporate over the weekend.

.223 team batting average? Am I seeing that right? Not that it's not possible, just curious how you're getting runs across to maintain first place.

With that said, we'll take em anyway we can get em. :)

JR, I wish I knew as well. I'll chalk it up to timely hitting.

I'm ready to get out of Gotham. Working on the Mets update now. Should be posted in the morning.

How is the player of the game Felix HErnandez?

Good eye, Pudge. It probably should have been Cliff Floyd. I've been sicker than a dog (strep throat) for the last week, and the concentration level on the past few updates has just not been there.

Hernandez was probably the MPV from the game before, and I forgot to change it.

He's gonna be pi**ed when he gets stripped of that trophy. ;)

Timely hitting, decent pitching, and some fancy footwork on the basepaths. My team BA isn't something to brag about, so I know it all too well.

It doesn't sound like New York was somewhere you want to hang your hat for awhile, eh? I think I got out of there with one win. That Met team is loaded.

Anyway, looking forward to the update. Whether you held the top spot in the Central is another story. :)

He shouldn't be too pissed right? He is going to end up with lot more than just 1 player of the game.

Anyway, I hear you about DeRosa. Its a very delicate situation where you would have to shuffle hitters back and forth between minors and MLB to get the right combination. I would say bring DeRosa back up but I think he has been given hell of a lot of opportunities. Well, good luck in finding a constant at 2B.

Heh. You're not the only one. :D

Anyways, JR, do you have the sites where you found some of your Photoshop tutorials on?

This is exactly why the game itself has to be more important than the visuals.

It does get redundant, and it's alot of work merely keeping up with the numbers in the presentation.

I've spoken with someone else about this already and I (we, possibly) may move to 'Series' updates for awhile, instead of daily ones. I will play each game, and ultimately it really comes down to making the playoffs. I mean, that's why we play the game, right?

Actually, I've just finished the second game of the Padres series (June 16), and I will start posting at the end of each series.

I will continue to post individual games that have some impact:

Division race (with those damn Astros)

Close, exciting games

If and when I get to the playoffs, I will start posting the games each day again.

I agree though sted, as I've said before, longevity is definately the key. :)

Zito, I just googled 'Photoshop Tutorials' and went from there. I'm never really specifically looking for anything, just whatever I come across that might lend me a few tips.

There's a million of them out there.

Hey M, I'm looking for that update this weekend, hopefully you have time. That 0.5 lead brings more pressure than a guy wants sometimes. :)

Working on it as we speak. Had one-too many Killian's last night to focus on the keyboard.

*The above reason you posted, is why I decided to do series updates. Allows me to enjoy playing the games.

Yeah, I've tried making it more about the game - I played like 5 games in a row, but now like, just doing updates, like its always in my head "ugh i gotta do 5 updates" so yeah I might try moving it to series updates as well, and I like playing more now that i downloaded a datafile and games are a lot closer now so it's not boring and it's alot more fun when games are close rather than 24 hits and 13 runs...

I can't wait till our mid July 4 game set with the 'Stros. You get them for 4 at Wrigley. It should be great!!!!

BTW, you still have the best presentation of any dynasty on this site!

Thanks, Mav. I appreciate the kind words! There are so many that are good this year, hopefully everyone can keep them going.

I've actually finished today's game already, and I've inched my way up to 6 games behind the Stros.

I'm waiting for that chance in July to do them some damage.

Baby steps..baby steps.. :binkybaby:

jr, I blame you completely! Today on the way to my fiance's house, it's about a half hour drive, I turned on the XM and listened to the Cubs game for a little bit. And then when I got there I turned on the game on WGN.

I BLAME YOU!!! IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT!!!!!

I don't even like the Cubs yet I followed them today.... lol you must be doing something right then.

Same here, Mav. Even though I've always been in the area to have them on T.V. everyday, I've always pledged my faith to the A's.

With that said, I watch the Cubbies everyday. I find myself looking to see what time they're on, and make it a point to have the game on.

My wife calls it 'denial'.

lol, well my loyalties are with the Reds. I don't see me jumping ships to the Cubs ever, but I've tried to keep up with them more recently only b/c of your dynasty.
