It definitely would be a great addition to have Griffey in right, at least in your dynasty, that way you can bench Floyd (not too fond of him after his breaking of the rules  )

But, you know if the Reds trade Griffey at this moment, I think the number of fans going to the Great American Ballpark would reduce to zero. If I were a Reds fan, I wouldn't see any point in going to the park at all with Griffey not in the lineup.

I agree with every word of that post, V.

Bowen's numbers in my dynasty (San Diego)

22 Games, 44 AB, 1 HR, 4 RBI, .182 BA

Geesh..

Hey JR, Funny thing in my Dynasty is I'm about to head to SD for a 3-game series.

I'm going to hold of playing until we get confirmation on this trade today. In my dynasty Bowen, has played in 1 game. Went 1-for-3.

This is why I like to keep up with the real schedule. If you're going to keep accurate rosters, transactions like these can have a realistic impact on your decision making, let alone your team.

To answer redsox's question, I honestly don't know yet. I brought (Koyie) Hill up last week, and he's 0 fer in 5 at bats. Hardly anything to measure a starting position by.

Blanco is brain dead, so I imagine I'll have to platoon Hill and Bowen and see what pans out. :)

Hopefully not more headache for sweet Lou. I just don't know if he can handle all this stress for one full season.

Yeah, even though I'm behind the real schedule.. this kinda plays into my dynasty. Already got the message that Barrett is inhappy and disrupting the clubhouse. I benched him for the Sox Series and Hill did a good job behind the plate, but his bat is not there yet.

*Already sent Blanco's butt down to Iowa. :wtg:

*TRANSACTIONS (June 20, 2007)*

The Chicago Cubs trade Catcher Michael Barrett to San Diego for Catcher Rob Bowen, Minor League Pitcher (to be named), and Cash Considerations

Rob Bowen will get the start in the final game of the Texas Ranger Series

Thought I might as well get that out. :)

Barrett wasn't exactly tearing it up for me, so this could be a blessing in disguise.

You said a Minor League Pitcher, but in real life they got OF Kyler Burke. Is he not in the rosters?

Yeah, that's what I had heard reported before it was announced they got Kyler Burke.

And no, he's not in the rosters. I'll create him and stick him down in Single A.

For those who have been following the dynasty, most of you know that I follow the real schedule and accurate rosters.

In real life, Sammy Sosa hit his 600th homerun of his career last night against the Cubs, and this prompted me to look at his numbers (real life) and since I'm playing at Texas, in my dynasty as well.

The numbers are strikingly similar:

Real Life:

Games - 61

At Bats - 232

Homeruns - 11

RBI's - 51

Batting Average - .241

Total Bases - 104

Dynasty:

Games - 64

At Bats - 246

Homeruns - 11

RBI's - 47

Batting Average - .317

Total Bases - 121

Sammy homered (11th) in the first game of my series with the Rangers, which in fact would have been his 600th, something I didn't realize at the time it happened.

Just thought I would share this with some of those that have been following the dynasty.

I slept right through the milestone. ;)

I saw him hit it live last night on WGN. Funny thing JR, when he stepped in the box, I said to myself, "This one's going out." Then in vintage Sammy, he crushes one to right-center"

I actually DID sleep through it last night. Long day, short evening. :)

Looks like you have the same "Chicago, we have a problem" syndrome. I see the Astros stole top billing from you.

Great writeup as always, M. You have a talent there. :) Good luck against Barrett and the Pads.
