Mets -

I trim the players with the Lasso Tool, and then magnify the pic and erase. It's a tedious process in the beginning, but it gets easier.

My best suggestion to anyone is to play with every option you can find in Photoshop. From what I am learning, the possibilities are endless.

Thanks for the headsup on your dynasty, I'm on my way to check it out. :)

geez, lasso it is then i guess, ill try magnify and erase, it looks so professional lol i thought you had some special thing that did it...theres so much freakin cool stuff on this site i wouldnt be supirsed to see a program called "Player Image Extracter in Game" or something lol

:) No special effects. The more work you put into it, I can guarentee the better it will turn out. Of course 'we' all know that, and it depends on what you want to put out there. The stuff I make is from scratch (99%), but I enjoy doing it, and at least for me it doesn't get old.

Player Image Extractor In Game. Man, I had to laugh. This site is incredible, and I wouldn't doubt it could happen. :)

thats how I do it too for my pitchers face off thing... lasso it, then I make a blue background, then 300% and erase... the best thing to do is to use the magic want, to erase the big parts... like for grass in some stadiums 1 click and a press of a button, and you have 50% erased, then you can do that with the dirt part, it seems alot harder than it is really... i guess great minds think alike

My first or second attempt at experimenting with brushes. Same template as yesterday, just with some experimentation.

I have no idea what I'm doing

did you post yesterdays game, cuz i dont remember seeing it.

I sure didn't redsfan, but I can tell you that I won 5-1. My plan was to post the first game and then post the results of the series. At least up until the All-Star Break. This gives me time to work on some new templates for the second half of the season.

I will (still) post/update games in progress if they are close at the end.

I'm slowly closing in on Houston, I will definately keep posting. :)

okay sounds good and congrats on the win, i was just wondering, because i wasnt sure if you were ahead a couple days and you were just taking a couple days off.

Actually, I'm right on schedule. I still have to play tonight's game (Game 3 vs Washington).

Thanks for asking rf776. :)

Thats exactly how I feel Jay. I have been spending some time working on sigs. to get better at brushes. And its always a learning process. You can find my latest one with brushes in my signature. That took me close to about 3 hours just because I was experimenting with each layer. There is still a lot to learn and hopefully we both can learn more to present better in our dynasties.

I hear ya, V. It's like anything else in PS, the more you experiment, the better you'll get.

It's a whole new learning experience.

I like the sig, BTW. Good job, man. :)

Hey JR, did you see the game today? Sad, sad, sad.. :headache:

Anyway, hope you're having a good 4th and if you drink a brew for me, I'll drink one for you. Should be feeling no pain by the end of the night. :wtg:

Actually I had to work all day, but my 9 year old kept me updated. Not once did he bring me good news. :)

Hopefully they can get back on track, it's been fun to see them rolling.

And Cheers! It's a deal. :)

joe i have a question, how do i edit the description of my dynasty post, so it says something else besides "a 2007 Kansas City Royals Dynasty"???

I've not done it before, Mets, but if I'm not mistaken, just edit your first post in the entire thread to what you want it to say.

Hope that works.

Thanks, apr. I'm still hanging in there. It's been up and down, but I still have major hopes to catch them.

Jay, sorry for hijacking your thread, but I actually do this differently and it takes me at the most 5 minutes to get a good cutout of my pic. Whenever I take a screens of players, I make sure that I don't grab backgrounds that have similar colors as my pitchers' / hitters' uniform colors. Once I have done that, I open it up in Photoshop and use the "magic wand tool" to select the background and just delete them as I go. And the ones that I can't get, I use the eraser tool to get those. Finally to make sure I got everything, I add a border to my player and erase any remaining parts that need to be cutout.

It does sound like a lot of work, but like I said, it takes at the most 5 minutes to do it. Anyway, take care.

I've actually done it a few different ways, V. I get the closest cut I can get, but erasing the pixels are the most tedious/important part, of course.

Just a tip if you haven't tried it, sometimes it works in certain layouts:

After you get your player cutout, go to the 'add layer style' icon at the bottom of the layer box, and add an 'outer glow' to your player. Adjust it to your liking, and then slightly blur the egdes of the player.

It gives a soft 'glow' look to the cutout of the player, and looks pretty decent in certain situations.

Lou Piniella's Cubs have went 7-3 in their last 10 games. At the start of the Colorado Rockies series on June 25th, Piniella and the Cubs announced that their goal would be to win at least 9 of the 12 games leading up and through to July 8th, which would end the series against Pittsburgh and cap off the first half of the season.

Piniella had also announced a similar goal earlier in the month of June, hoping to stay at least 8 games behind the red hot Houston Astros.

So far, so good. With 3 games left before the break, Piniella says his team is in good shape. "Of course we'd like to be at the top of the division", said Piniella, "but we've been playing about as good as I had expected, and maybe even a little better here lately. There's a whole other half of a season left. I can't imagine Houston keeping this pace, and we've done about all we can do to stay within striking distance. I said eight games by the break, we're damn close to that. As of right now, I have no complaints about this team, they've done everything right in the last couple of weeks, and I couldn't be more pleased."

The Cubs will travel to play the 35-52 Pittsburgh Pirates before taking a 4 day break through the All-Star festivities on July 10th. Chicago will then meet up with the first place Astros at Wrigley Field for 3 games and try to gain some much needed ground. Asked about the Wild Card situation, Piniella had no reply.

Thanks, apr. DeRosa and Bowen are finally coming around. That bottom half of the lineup has been near invisible for most of the 1st half of the season.

Scott Moore has been rock solid at 2nd base, and DeRosa has nudged his way into starting at SS. Not as quick as Izturis or Cedeno, and with Theriot injured, I figured he was my best option. So far, so good.

Soriano, Lee, and Ramirez have been consistent. With Lee down in AAA, I've got J. Jones and Murton platooning in RF. Pie is solid in CF, but his hitting is sporatic. If I can close some of these holes, I have a better chance at closing the gap on Houston.
