Geez..I just looked..

Jason Schmidt and Johann Santana will be starting in the All-Star Game.

13-2, 2.63 and 13-2, 3.02 respectively.

This is going to be nasty. I wouldn't expect alot of offense. ;)

*edit - I realize the offensive talent is the cream of the crop, but has there ever been a no-hitter in the AS Game?

I looked at this and I was like "What the? Schmidt is injured!" But, then I realized than you're talking about your dynasty!

doubt it, since they switch pitcher out so much no matter what hits... but in the 1995 all star game Randy Johnson, Kevin Appier and Dennis Martinez pitched 5 no-hit innings combined, and thats the longest a team has gone without a hit in an all-star game

I don't think there will ever be a traditional no-hitter since managers don't want to exhaust pitchers. But a combined one is always a possibility, small though it may be.

Looking forward to see what you come up with for the all-star festivities Jay. I would like to see a HR showdown as well as the all-star game itself, and if you have the time, maybe a prospects game. I am not sure as to which roster set you are using, but KG's roster set replaced the classic teams with prospects. So if you are using his set, you could play an exhibition match and showcase the futures game.

Hey JR. Good stuff! I'm new to MVP mods and am loving your dynasty. I too am from small town Indiana. Loved baseball and love the Cubs! Keep up the good work!

Hey, JR. Whats going on with your dynasty? Any All-Star stuff planned or are you just going to resume tonight?

Sorry guys, I've got family here from Europe, wasn't able to get something together for the All-Star Game.

I will definately be rolling again by tomorrow night (vs Houston).

Thanks for checking in!

Sorry about the lack of traffic here during the All-Star Break, but I've been extremely busy for the last week. Since I'm still on schedule, I went ahead and simmed the ASG with the National League winning 9-4, and played my first game back against Houston.

I won't be posting detailed stats for a few days, but I will still definately get my games played so I can stay on schedule and get back on track with the presentation.

I called up Kerry Wood and Cliff Floyd, and sent Matt Murton and Ronny Cedeno back to Iowa AAA.

Wood looked terrific, very crisp and with great velocity. Wood (7.0 IP, 5 H, 0 ER, 4 K) and Micheal Wuertz (2.0 IP, 1 H, 1 K) combined for the shut out, with Cliff Floyd going 1-4 with his 29th RBI.

Wood replaced Rich Hill in the rotation, and Ted Lilly takes Angel Guzman's spot.

This win (game 1 of 3) closes the gap to within 5 1/2 of the NL Central leading Astros, and gives me a 1 game lead in the Wild Card Race.

Chicago - 4

Houston - 1

only cus jr beat them ;)

Yeah, as much trouble as they're giving the rest of the NL, I'm actually 3-1 against them this year. Hopefully, with 11 games to go with them, I can retake the Central before it's too late.

Here's the Boxscore for tonight's game:

Good to see ya on the boards JR.

Hope you're enjoying the visit from your family.

Thanks, M. It's good to be working my way back to some normalcy. And BTW, it's her family, so you can guarentee I'm enjoying it. ;)

Kidding aside, I just realized I'll be facing Oswalt tomorrow, so I'm sure it's going to be difficult putting runs on the board. He's 12-2 with a 2.79 ERA, and I went in just to give him a look.

He throws some gas. (Where's that Flame Thrower Smiley?) :)

Don't say that too loud.

Man, Oswalt is tearing it up. Hopefully you can scratch some runs off him.

I just checked him in my dynasty: 8-1, 2.28 ERA, 68 K's, 28 BB

Opposing teams are hitting just .202 against him. He's averaging almost 7 k's per 9 innings. Man, I'm not looking forward to facing him once I get past the break. :headache:

*Did you see my Braves update? I was glad to get the heck out of Georgia. No southern hospitality whatsoever. :starwars:

First of all, M, that page is becoming a complete work of art. The overall detail and the Milestone page are fantastic! Excellent job. :wtg:

Atlanta is rough to deal with, I've had problems with them too, but at least you stole one before they bounced you out of town. And for good measure, A. Jones ripped you for all 4 spots on the basepaths. I've had those days.

Houston won't go away, with they M? lol

Good luck with the A.L. part of the schedule, I'll definatly be checking in. :)

Hey guys, another 'skeleton' update for today's (July 14) game against Houston.

To put it bluntly, I got waxed. Roy Oswalt had all kinds of junk to throw at me, and I was just flat out off balance the whole game. He went the distance and picked up his 13th win of the season, struck out 6 and gave up a single run. Mike Lamb and Adam Everett each hit his 5th homerun of the season, with 6 different Astros getting credits for RBI's.

Jason Marquis got the loss.

Final Score

Houston - 7

Chicago - 1

Houston regains a 6 1/2 game lead in the NL Central.

HOU @ CHC - July 14 Boxscore/Play by Play

* I should be back to regular updates (or series updates) by next week sometime*

ironic that it was the exact opposite of the game in RL :p

Was it??

I've been sneaking up in the middle of the night, climbing over sleeping Norwegians just to get a game in.

For all I know, Bonds has already broken the record by now. ;)
