JR how do you keep the CPU from making trades that are not made in real life?

You can turn off Trades completely in the game. I use Ty Wiggins' Editor to keep the rosters straight.

I follow ESPN's Transactions on a daily basis, and make trades as they happen. I don't necessarily keep up with who is sent up or down, because that particular player MIGHT be doing well for his respective team.

I basically keep the correct personnel on each team, and depending how the individual does and what role he plays for his team is up to the CPU.

Congrats on the win JR. Any win over the hated Cardinals is good.

Pretty cool putting the boxscore in the template like that. :wtg:

Thanks, M. Man, Soriano just blasted the ball in the first game against St. Louis. 4-5 with 2 HR's and 4 ribbies. He fouled off another 2 that just went outside of the fair pole.

The Cubbies were hitting the ball all over the place, I just hope it continues.

I went high and inside on Pujols with an 0-2 count, next thing I know, he's scuffing up the Arch. ;)

This was a fun game, and Houston is starting to cool off. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come.

Just 4.5 games out. Great job on gaining the ground Jay. And I definitely agree with Maestro - it was a really unique idea to have the box score in there. That whole update is very nicely done.

Thanks, V. I shudder every time I look at the standings, but things have been turning my way just a bit. Houston is at LEAST losing a few game now.

As far as the update, I appreciate the comments. I would have rather had the boxscore in more of an 'overlay' fashion, but as I've said, I just won't have much time until around the middle of August.

But it's going to work out well, at least I'm getting the games played, and I DO seem to have gained some ground.

This is yesterday's game against St. Louis, and I should be able to post today's game this evening some time. The Cubbies are on a roll. With Houston losing yet AGAIN, this win pulls me within 3 1/2 games of first place, and finally gives me the lead (1 game) over the Mets in the Wild Card Race.

Adam Wainwright was absolutely horrible. There wasn't much on his pitches, and he left most of what he threw up and in the middle of the plate. The Cubs are playing the best baseball they've played all season, and the mediocre Cardinals pitching staff haven't been able to contain them.

Jason Marquis picked up his 12th win of the season (leads team), and went 2-3 at the plate.

Chicago has evened the season matchup to 4-4, but look to complete the series sweep tonight. The starters will be Mark Prior (11-5, 2.66) vs right hander Chris Carpenter (5-6, 3.94).

Nice to see you close in on the Astros. Great job man. BTW, looks like tonight's matchup is going to be a great pitcher's duel.

Yeah, it should be decent. I've not faced Carpenter yet, but he can't be as bad as the 1-11 Adam Wainwright. ;)

This is a nice little run the Cubs have put together, but it could change on a dime. I can't take anything for granted, I have to keep pushing.

Take advantage of the weak pitching JR. Good to see Houston struggling for once. Man, who told Marquis he could go 2-3 with an RBI. What did you feed him before the game.

Good stuff man, keep it rolling.

Surprisingly, I've come to count on Marquis at the plate. With a .189 BA, he's more consistant than Pie was. ;)

Too funny man. Heck he had a higher batting average for you than "I can't see the ball" DeRosa had for me before I gave him a ticket down to Iowa.

Heads up, my latest update is posted. I"m ashamed of my Cubbies. And we played at Wrigley this time.

Wow, 17 hits for Blake Street in game 3. Sorry to hear about Marquis, but J. Jones is rockin the house. Man, if I could only get half of that production out of him, Pie might never see the Ivy again.

Great write up, M, as always. Your attention to detail is money.

And BTW, good to see you at Wrigley again. :rocklicker:

Hey JR, have you ever hit a ball into the ivy at Wrigley and the outfielder couldn't find it and have it ruled a ground-rule double? J. Jones hit one like that for me in the Colorado series. I have never seen that before in all my time playing MVP. Thought it was pretty cool.

Sure have, M. As a matter of fact, it's happened 2 or 3 times. Maybe it's just coincidence, but it's only happened to the Cubs and never an opponent.

fyi you spelled Encarnacion wrong

this is really great. Every day I not only check what the Chicago Cubs did, I also have to check what Joe Rudi's Cubs did.

:wtg:

Yep, I sure did. Thanks for the heads up CC. :) The graphic parts of the updates (for now) are hurried and terribly simple. I'm finding the time to play my games (late at night), and keep the integrity of the dynasty going.

Ironically, with being so busy, I've slipped back into contention in the division.

The updates will dramatically improve around the middle of August. I'm still grateful to those that are still following. :)

LOL, and not to mention that DeRosa wears number 7. The Norwegians have officially taken over my PC space, so this update may not get written up until tomorrow. :headache:

No sweat though, the Cubbies have the day off, the schedule will still be intact.
