Congrats on the win JR. The template is money also.

Thanks, M. I held on for 5 innings while they slowly tried to get back into it. Pujols wasn't in the lineup, but he did pinch hit to no avail.

Surprisingly, they weren't as tough as I had expected.

Houston wins, I remain 3 1/2 back

2 Games ahead of Mets for the Wild Card

what day off are you talking about? The Cubs have no day off until August 13th.

Yeah, I figured that out this morning. I misread the schedule. I will be at Cincinnati tonight to open a 3 game series.

um,lol, you forgot to change the Cardinals name to the Reds....lol

I'll forgive you this time since that was posted at 3:30 am.

Nice new box score though. Likin' it.

Thanks, Mav. The way things have been going lately, I'm surprised there weren't more errors than that.

As far as the game, Lohse kept everything on the ground, I couldn't find a spot where they weren't. Oh well, hopefully I'll be able to get the game in sometime before midnight. :rocklicker:

JR, that was a tough loss indeed. But its really nice to see that you have pulled within 3.5 games of the Astros. Nice job as always on the new presentation boards. I really like the effect on the background. Take care.

I simmed up until today's game, and Houston has won again, which puts me back to 4 1/2 out. Losing today's game obviously puts me back down to 5 1/2.

Furthermore, the Mets have won again too, which places me in a tie for the Wild Card Race. A loss today will set me back one game (WC).

It's taken me 2 months to get back into contention, and I've basically got 2 months to get a grip on a playoff spot. In other words, every pitch, every baserunner, every run counts as of right now.

As far as the rest of the league, the Dodgers (13 games in 1st) are going to win the NL West (barring a complete breakdown), but every other division in the league is tight:

AL West

Angels 3 1/2 back of Oakland

AL Central

Detroit 4 back of Minnesota

AL East

Both Boston and New York, 1 game and 1 1/2 games respectively, are closing in on first place Toronto.

NL East

Mets only 2 1/2 games behind Philadelphia

The AL Wild Card is tighter than the NL at this point..

LA

Seattle

Detroit

Boston

New York

..all within 4 or 5 games of the top spot.

With August upon us, let the races begin. :)

Heads up: Cubs/Reds WGN.. NOW

Yeah, I just saw that eh...cough...fantastic call the refs made against Soriano.

Lou should have unloaded on them. :)

I know man, total BS call there. :protest:

what are you guys talking about? That call was perfect!!! The umpire made the correct call...

You Cubs fans always think the umpires are against you...lol j/k

(Just so everyone knows, yes the call was wrong, and yes I am a Reds fan)

man, soriano is on a tear...hopefully you can catch those fitlhy astros. I got a question too. Are you going to take Ensberg off of the Astros and add Wigginton?

JR breaking out the Lumber Mill. Awesome beat down of the Reds man. That stadium is nothing but a launching pad.

Good to see Soriano on a tear for the week. I just got him back off the DL for me. Player of the Week template is great.

Hey, real-life Cubbies are just a 1/2 game behind the Crew. :wtg:

No.

Although I make all of the real life trades, I don't configure other team's lineups. For example, Morgan Ensberg is hitting .304/21/71, and Wigginton's numbers are .266/11/40

With that said, the CPU optimizes it's own lineups, and as you can see by the numbers, there would be no reason to sit Ensberg down.

In my dynasty, there really would have been no reason for Houston to make that trade, but if I'm going to keep rosters as accurate as I can, I simply can't start picking through each trade and see if it is warranted for each respective team.

But nonetheless, if Ensberg does happen to go down, I'm sure the CPU would insert Wigginton at the starting 3B position.
