Geez. Why doesn't Dempster just put the ball on a tee for the Mets. :headache:

Between yesterday and today, hopefully this isn't a sign of things to come.

For the second day in a row, they just fell apart with chances to get it done.

Oh well, Jacque Jones just singled...

*Edit - lol, that wasn't Jones..:)

Man Jay, what a tough loss. Hopefully you can bounce back in the next two to go up in the wild card standings by 1 and maybe gain some ground with Houston.

Also Jay, could you maybe post the results from the Houston games along with the Cubs game updates? Take care.

Yeah V, it was a tough loss, but I was sort of expecting this. Even though Houston has won alot of games, the Mets by far have been the toughest team I've faced. It was hell keeping them off the bases, but I did manage to put a lid on their explosive scoring for the first 9 innings.

If you've looked at the boxscore, it was a tight game up until the top of the 9th inning. They scatter the ball all over the field, but somehow Wood kept them contained for the most part.

I went through 6 pitchers to try and stop the bleeding, but they just kept on hitting until finally Delgado blasted one to the opposite field for a 3 run shot.

Wagner came in. End of story.

But just for a little more info on the Cubs/Mets matchup, here are some numbers through 5 games:

May 14th - Cubs 7, Mets 1

May 15th - Mets 8, Cubs 5

May 16th - Mets 9, Cubs 5

May 17th - Mets 5, Cubs 3

Aug 3rd - Mets 7, Cubs 2

(Mets - 30 runs, 56 hits, 9 hr's in 5 games)

As you can see, they can score in bunches, and they seem to always be on the basepaths. With Houston losing today, I keep my spot at 3 games back, but the pattern that's starting to emerge looks to be a division overthrow (NL East Leading Phillies) by New York. I can see it coming.

To answer your question about the Houston updates, I will definately start posting this 3 team race, as well as any other league races worth updating. Boston has caught Toronto in the East, and New York has clawed their way within 3 games of that division as well.

I may work on a couple of update boards for that purpose, depending on time issues. If not soon, I will definately have something in place in a couple of weeks.

*Note - Since the division races are fairly close at this point, and the races are starting to heat up, I've compiled a new board (Division Watch) that will present daily games for the Cubs (my dynasty) and the rest of the Division Leaders. It also includes the top 3 leaders in the AL and NL Wild Card Races.*

Division Leaders are marked with a yellow arrow (just so happens they all won today), and the Wild Card Leaders (when playing the division leader) will be marked with a red arrow (see LA Angels vs Oakland).

The Standings will be posted sometime this weekend.

Wow, Cubbies putting the wood on the ball today. They need a big win to get their heads back in it.

I think J. Jones escaped from your dynasty, M, and he's out on the field today. :)

New York has an explosive offense, I doubt this thing is anywhere near over.

Cubs have imploded (basically) the last two games, it'll be interesting to see how they manage this lead.

Thanks for the compliments, V. It's difficult to try and cram the most relevant stats with all the league options I was trying to present on the board, while trying to make the template compact and readable.

At first glance, there seems to be alot of text, but after looking at it so much, I think it will be pretty easy to get used to.

I'll probably use this board until the Playoffs start, and then upgrade to something similar (stat wise) for the Post Season.

Hopefully I'm in the mix of things. :)

hey jr, i was wondering why i haven't received the templates from ur dynasty? (saying this in a friendly way)

Thanks a lot my friend.

Because about a month ago I stopped sending them to people because there were some issues about all the dynasties starting to look the same, and the whole issue has already been addressed in my dynasty thread.

And I have to say that I agree with others that the dynasties were getting redundant. I've never had a problem with sharing, but presenting a dynasty is more about originality.

No offense Kaz, hopefully you understand. :)
