hey great job with this dynasty easily one of my favorites

Thanks man, glad to know there's still people following. The season gets long and drawn out sometimes, so it's understandable some people would fall off and stop reading.

But it's going down to the wire now, it looks to be an interesting finish.

Good Luck against Matt Cain tonight JR.

Thanks, rick. I faced him on July 16th at Wrigley, and he was pretty tough. Although he didn't get the win (Damian Moss got the win), he was still solid and hard to hit.

His numbers were:

6 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 5 K, 3 BB

Cliff Floyd's homerun in the 2nd inning was the only run he gave up.

Wow that was tough on Cain, pitching so well then it being erased against Kline. Well Done on the win though :)

Is Lincecum the Giants closer?

Yeah, Cain throws hard and he throws alot of strikes. It's hard to stay ahead of him. Kline did blow it, he left alot of stuff high and in the strike zone, and my righty hitters just murdered him.

As far as Lincecum, I went in and checked, it looks like they have him as a middle reliever.

All in all, it was a tight game until the 8th inning.

The Giants could have shot themselves in the foot not using Lincecum as a starter.

Good luck in game 3. How are the Astros doing in their series Vs Nationals?

The CPU does some crazy things sometimes, but after checking, Lincecum is only 2-7 with a 4.25 ERA.

As far as Houston, they've taken 2 of the first 3 games against Washington, with one more left tonight. They're still a game ahead of me in the division, but I have 6 games left with them towards the end of the year.

If I can keep pace with them, I'll be in good position to take them down in September.

Maybe after seeing Lincecum's record maybe it isn't as crazy as it appears at first because if a young pitcher is struggling then it might be a good idea sometimes to let him iron out the creases from the bullpen.

Hopefully Houston could slip up a few times before you meet them so then it gives you a little breathing room just in case they get the best of you.

I will be looking forward to seeing your Cubs in the playoffs. Good Luck

*Cubs acquire outfielder Craig Monroe and a cash consideration from the Detroit Tigers for a player to be named later.*

Jacque Jones sent to AAA Iowa

Craig Monroe to Majors

Beat me to it JR.

Hey M, if you get a chance, could you post his numbers (in your dynasty) for me?

In mine: .271/15/58

No rush man, but thanks. :)

How 'bout that comeback last night??? If that wasn't brew invoking, I don't know what is. :rocklicker:

Yeah man, great win last night. The Brew was flowing pretty good last night for me.

Here's Monroe's numbers from my 'chise.

95 Games: .277/19/51

Looks like he's doing about the same in both our dynasties.

Thank you, sir. :)

Yeah, pretty close, 126 games played on my end.

Just curious, you plugging him in immediately?

Don't know. My outfield is pretty solid right now. Murton, Soriano, and Mr. Jones. Floyd is good coming off the bench. I could send Pagan down though.

I might wait a few series before I make that trade. Looking forward to seeing what impact he has for you though. I'm sure he can help with that tight Division race you're in right now.

I've actually got Soriano starting at 2B against lefties, and Murton, Pagan, and Floyd in the outfield.

With the right handed hitting Monroe, this will allow me to beef up on the right side, and sit Floyd down (he's awful against left handers) in this situation.

Believe it or not, other than Ramirez, Fontenot has been money, I just have a hell of a time with lefty/ lefty matchups.

I like that strategy JR. I might use something similar against lefties myself. You're right about Floyd too, kills me against lefties. Jones struggles at times as well. I could see myself sitting Jones vs. lefties and going with something like Soriano, Murton, & Monroe.

Speaking of Floyd, it seems he gets thrown to inside alot. More often than not, which results in getting jammed to the opposite field.

I'll occasionally back up in the box with him, and it's worked a few times so far. Just wondering if you've noticed the same thing, M.

I'm seeing the same thing on Floyd also JR. I find myself moving around in the box as well. Makes me dread hitting with him sometimes.

Hey guys, I usually don't post polls, but I thought since the Dodgers are running away with the NL West, and the Central and East still up for grabs, I thought it would be interesting to see how people think it's going to turn out.

Feel free to vote. I voted for the Mets. :)

Most recent standings (as of Aug 21) are on page 160 of this thread.

I voted for the Cubs Jay. Sorry bud, but I just feel that the Cubs will run out of gas at the end. Looking forward to those 10 games with the Astros and the Dodgers. I think those games will be the deciding factor. But in any case, it seems like nowadays its better to get into the playoffs as the Wild Card team rather than winning the division.

In all honesty, things are really looking good for you. You did one hell of a job (sorry, Lou did...) in gaining ground on the Astros when you were like 8+ games out. Looking forward to some very exciting baseball this coming month.

Awesome job on the presentations as always.

Thanks, V. It's been a job to keep up with Houston this year, they've really only had one or two stretches where they lost more than 2 games in a row.

And in all honesty, you may be right about the Cubs making the Wild Card, but with the way Philladelphia and New York are playing, I'd take anything I could get just to get in.

BTW, looking forward to you firing up that Sox Dynasty again. :)

I wanted to get my dynasty going again, but I am having a blast playing around with c4ds and brushes and creating sigs.

I have been playing games here and there, I just haven't updated it with the information. Hopefully I will have something by the weekend.
