Facing good CPU pitchers

I dont know if its just the wya thta I play or something, but I always hit better against the better pitchers in the league. DOes anyone else have the same results against good pitchers? For example, in my last 2 games I faced Pedro and Schilling and scored a total of 11 runs off of them in a combined 13 innings, but against crappy pitchers like Mike Maroth, Bronson Arroyo, etc. i either hit very average or have trouble hitting and get K'd ALOT!

Thats because you will expect the Pedros and Schillings to do well...

and You expect the crappy pitchers to do poorly...Against Crappy pitchers...be more patient i guess.

it think it has to do with their pitch speed to some extent.

I agree, you get used to a mid-90mph fastball, so your timing is off, when you face a worse pitcher who can't hit that....

Tim Wakefield still gives me trouble and i've faced him a few times, now i just sim the game when he's pitching...

yea, i destroy pitches like Prior and Wood, but for some reason I'll fave Victor Zombrano and cant touch him.. I think the better pitchers throw more strikes - so i hit the ball more - the worse pitchers cant hit over the plan as often- yet im still SWING HAPPY and get all goofed up.

and does anyone else have problems with knowing whether or not a change up is going to be a strike? i'll swing at one that lookslike a strke, but it will then drop way out of the strike zone!

thats when check swings come in and help. Those pitches that look like strikes then the bottom drops out... my K totals would be adam dunn like if i didnt learn to check my swing.

yea thats my prob on thsi game... i dont swing for ones inside, outside, or high... but what gets me are change ups and curves that are low... they look waist high... and they drop to like the ankles... ticks me off... i go down swingin all the time on those... like about 4 times a game... and ive been playn since april lol

ya, the low changeup is a b*tch. i am constantlty swinging at that pig!!

i spent awhile trying to figure out if i could spot that off the pitchers hand. couldn't.

as for the good pitchers, i can light up Zito like the 4th of july but randy johnson just wipes me out with that fastball and changeup. K city. he is the pitcher i have the single biggest difficulty with in this game.

i also have problems with non ace picthers...but i think its problaby waht you guys said, against good pichter, we are more patient..i think that , casue always against the closers, i am so desperate for a hit that i usually get k d...

so i think the best thing is patience...the compu is pretty smart in levels like Allstar or MVP..

I've been more patient lately so I haven't lit up ace starters more than normal guys, but I still don't get shut down by many of the really good ones. Only guys who shut me down are Tim Wakefield, Steve Sparks, and Jamie Moyer. I have no idea why Moyer is so hard, I had 2 hits in 9 innings against him last night, though I did win 3-2(Victor Martinez is insanely awesome). The only two 'aces' I hit really well are Schilling and Halladay. Back when I had my Tampa dynasty I smoked them three times each.

And I too have problems with the low changeup and low curveball. Heck, I have problems with changeups everywhere. Thankfully I usually have a really really fast team so I can hit the changeups on the ground and beat 3-5 out per game and get the guy with a really good changeup out of the game.
