superciuc
Maybe is because of the 07 mod.But i don't know, you should PM Kraw
Homer
the 07 mod isn't going to make a difference. you'll need to describe what you did step by step before we can figure out what you did wrong.
philliesphan18
You sure you put in the correct folder into Fuzz Studio?
Pudge77
ok for the installer 1)I copied the files into the desighnated folder 2)I started the Installer and it copied all the files thats pretty much it
Darkslide820
I feel real dumb trying to use all these programs. I'm stuck on this one. I wanted to use the portrait installer, it made the temporary folder for me, I copied the pictures I wanted into it, and let it do the rest. Now what? What did I just accomplish and how do I realize it?
kgbaseball
You don't want the portrait installer, you want the portrait maker.
Darkslide820
huh? BTW, did you check out my latest problem in the "photos" thread?
kgbaseball
Which one of these are you talking about? http://eamods.com/index.php?name=Downloads...e=details&id=52 http://eamods.com/index.php?name=Downloads...e=details&id=
Darkslide820
I wasn't talking about either of those. I was using Installer Thingy. I'll take a look at those 2 links, though. Just give me a minute.
Darkslide820
That first link looks more useful because the 2nd one asks for FSH files and I don't know what those are. The first one seems simpler. But how is this different from the Installer Thingy?
kgbaseball
Oh. To answer your first question, it put the files you entered in into your portrait.big. So go into MVPEdit to the player you just made a portrait for and see if it showed up.
Darkslide820
That's the thing. I didn't know how to access the newly made ... whatever that Installer Thingy did. So I went to MVPedit and did what I usually do: select an Audio/Photo number that isn't taken, click where it says "no picture found," then select the BMP and alpha files. I exported and all that stuff, went into the game and when I looked the players still had the blank silhouette as their portrait.
kgbaseball
When was the last time you exported the roster? If you gave a player an ID and a portrait before the last time you exported, it won't show up.
Darkslide820
Here's what I did that DIDN'T work. 1) Opened Installer Thingy 2) Chose portraits (1st choice, I believe) 3) Dragged my picture (256x256 24-bit BMP) into the temporary folder 4) Let the program work its magic 5) Opened MVPedit and the .mbe file that has my character 6) For Audio/Photo, chose a # that wasn't used 7) Clicked on the square that said "no picture found" and selected my photo (same BMP file in step 3) and alpha (unique, properly formatted). After clicking OK, the "no picture found" was replaced by the picture. Looking good so far. 8 ) Pressed the big export button and chose to overwrite the proper "database" folder 9) Loaded up the game and the picture I referred to in steps 3 and 7 was replaced by the blank picture. Where'd I go wrong? BTW, thanks for all your patience and help.
kgbaseball
You went wrong at #3. You're supposed to put .fsh files in the installer.
Darkslide820
Uggh. How do I make something a .fsh file? What program do I need now?
kgbaseball
That's where MVP can help, since it can make them for you. Or, one of those programs can make them that I posted a few comments ago.
Darkslide820
Actually, I just realized the answer after I posted. It's the first one you linked me to. That should do BMP+alpha=FSH. How do you do it in MVPedit? OK. So let's say I have the fsh file and used that in step 3. Is everything else I did right?
kgbaseball
Well, you should already have an ID picked out for the player before you ever make a portrait of them, and the ID number and portrait number should match. Looks good after that.
Darkslide820
What do you mean by the ID number and the portrait number?
kgbaseball
xxx.fsh and the Audio/Photo ID.
Darkslide820
Ohhhhh...... So when the Portrait Maker 1.5 that you linked me to makes an FSH I should name it the same number that I'll use as the audio/photo #? Does that mean I won't have to do the whole click on the words, pick an picture, pick an alpha, thing? If that's what you mean then I think I got it. kgbaseball
Bingo. But the portrait maker doesn't compress the files, so you'll have to do that yourself. I've never had any luck whatsoever using the installer thingy with portraits; it always corrupts my portrait.big. Now I expect a hefty bag of pesos for my help. ;)
Darkslide820
"But the portrait maker doesn't compress the files, so you'll have to do that yourself." Nooooo. Compress it how? I thought the PM1.5 compresses the two files into one fsh file. Unless you're talking about something else. How would I go about this myself? Also, can I name something 1.fsh, or does it have to be something like 0001.fsh or xxx1.fsh?
