Darkslide820
I was wondering if it was possible to make those itty bitty gloves they wore in the old days. This would really help out for when I make my all-decade teams to set the teams apart from each other visually. To take it a step further, is it possible to make players play bare-handed? Even older school.
RaptorQuiz
I imagine you could make the gloves "invisible"... but probably not change the physics/animations. So they would catch the balls in their invisible gloves about 4 inches away from their hands. eesh.
compmaniac
Do the gloves have alpha files? If so, you could just make them invisible, like RaptorQuiz suggested.
MarlinsMS_35
You can make alpha files, and add the code to the index in nfshtool. I forget the code you have o put in the index though. I also dont know if there is a hand texture, or not.
Homer
there should be a hand texture. the code is simple. just open up any portrait or uniform file and you can find the code for the alpha.
compmaniac
What file is the gloves in?

compmaniac
Well, I just tried making the entire alpha file black, and this is what I got: (No hand) Anybody still want it anyway? And DarkSlide820, what do you mean by "itty-bitty" gloves?
MarlinsMS_35
well, you can try to duplicate the textue from the throwing hand, and the vertex's, and map them over, but thats something very possible, I just don't know how to do it.
compmaniac
That sounds like it would work, kennyess. Let me see what I can do. Do you have any idea where the mapping would be?
Darkslide820
And DarkSlide820, what do you mean by "itty-bitty" gloves? http://images.google.com/images?svnum=10&u...+baseball+glove or this one, very old http://images.google.com/images?svnum=10&u...ball+glove+1880
compmaniac
I think the "no glove option" is easier, because either way, you would have to map things out. And by the way, the original gloves from MVP Baseball 2005 had one that was old-fashioned...
Darkslide820
No way! I thought there was just changing the color. You're talking about when you edit a player in-game?
compmaniac
Yes, but if you installed the 07 mod, you most likely don't have them. Just copy the original glove files from the CD, and change it to Glove 5, I think. Do you still want the no glove option as well? And if so, is it OK if the "no glove" option ends up with the player's catching hand only having one finger?
Darkslide820
Well, I could nitpick about screenshots that don't look perfect, but I won't care if it looks fine during gameplay. How does it look when you're actually playing? I would use the "Zoom" fielding view. What about that fingerless glove that I linked to? Thanks a lot. compmaniac
Sorry, Darkslide820, I'm not that good with this stuff. Your best bet is to talk to KCCityStar or thespungo about the fingerless glove. I'm just trying to make the "no glove" hand. I posted a screenshot earlier, and it won't look fine during gameplay:
Darkslide820
Well, when I asked if it would look fine during gameplay I was talking about when you, say, get a hit and the fielders are running around trying to get the ball. Everyone should be smaller than the pic you posted, so the missing fingers would be less visible. But the point I probably should have said before is that having giant fielding gloves kinda takes away from old-time players looking like old-time players. I think that the absense of the fielding glove will help to make 1800s player look more authentic. I appreciate your efforts and input.
abc006
How about you take the old-fashioned EA glove, resize only the image (but not the border) to about 2/3 of the original size, and then make the blank space the alpha.

How about you take the old-fashioned EA glove, resize only the image (but not the border) to about 2/3 of the original size, and then make the blank space the alpha. Well, it would look even worse, because of the mapping of the glove, and I'm not familiar with OEdit.
