txbball14
I just bought a copy of MVP 2005 for the PC and before i continue I want you to know that I am slightly computer literate, but I keep reading about all the changes you all make to the game and it forced me to go get it. Question 1) Will I have any problem playing this on a new laptop or will it be too slow? Question 2) I would like to do all the diting that you guys talk about, being a little on the computer illiterate side will I have any problems with this? (editing stadiums, uniforms, etc.) Thanks in advance, I should get my copy in the mail tomorrow.
superciuc
For uniforms you can use MVP studio 2006 by Fuzzone and editing stadium is too hard and i never try to do that

txbball14
I have installed the game and uploaded rosters and I have started a dynasty, but when I tried to play a game the game just shuts down and windows Vista tells me that it has encountered a problem but does not tell me what the problem is. This also happened when I tried to do Homerun SHowdown. I was able to "Manage" a game, but I cannot actually play. Anyone else encounter this and if so how do I fix it? Thanks
big shmooz
First of all, does this happen only in dynasty mode? Try playing an exhibition game & see if the same thing happens. Also, have you downloaded & installed anything other than rosters? I must admit I am not familiar with Vista & so I can't tell you if there are compatibility issues with MVP & Vista. Thanks What rosters did you download? It's possible that the rosters require cyberfaces that you do not have. If the game cannot find a player's cyberface, it will crash. If the game cannot find a player's cyberface, it will crash. I actually thought to ask that question but realized that it would be incorrect to ask. The reason why it is incorrect is, because if he was missing the cyberfaces, the game would only crash after he was ingame. It seems that his game is crashing (at least from my understanding) before he gets into his game. This would not happen if the problem was missing cyberfaces. It seems that his game is crashing (at least from my understanding) before he gets into his game. This would not happen if the problem was missing cyberfaces. I play primarily exhibition games. My experience has been that when a cyberface is missing, the following happens: 1. I can select teams 2. I can select uniforms 3. I can select starting pitchers 4. I can view starting lineups (and make any changes) 5. I can select the stadium to play in As soon as I click on the Advance button the "loading" bar starts filling up and then when it's about 1/2 to 3/4 of the way filled up, the game crashes to the desktop and I get the "MVP2005 has encountered an error and has shutdown" screen. 99% of the time when this occurs I open up the rosters with MVPEdit and find that I've got a player missing a cyberface. When txbball made the following statement: when I tried to play a game the game just shuts down and windows Vista tells me that it has encountered a problem It sounded very much like the scenario that I've encountered. superciuc
Download MVPedit and check the rosters. See the faq list that MarkB made a while ago for MVPedit.
