DeuceBlades
The Texans released David Carr today. Does anyone think is was deserved, or was it the best thing for the Texans?? Until they fix that "offensive" line, Shaub is gonna have the same success or lack there of.
DJEagles
He had a lot of potential when he was drafted, but never lived up to it with the Texans. I would like to see him catch on with a team that has a decent offensive line to back him up.
kgbaseball
They must see a lot in Schaub, who hasn't proven himself at all in the NFL.

fred13
To be honest, does it really matter? Neither QB is any good. If they were going to pass on Reggie Bush, they could have at least taken Vince Young. Mario Williams was a waste of first pick.

I am not a huge follower of the NFL, but even I knew passing on Bush and Young for Mario Williams was a joke. Young, and Bush look light years ahead of Williams in their respective positions. brutushayesosu
As a Browns fan, spare the laughter (also a Cubs fan), anytime a QB is out there then it does matter. Charlie Frye is just not the answer.
Tigers94
This was dumb, why do the Texans think that an unproven QB will be any better? The O-line hasn't improved, so Schaub will probably stink.
el_jefe061
The Texans are the worst front office in football these last years. Not only did they pass on Vince Young and Reggie Bush, but D'Brickashaw Ferguson. He would have done wonders for that line. Look at what he did for the Jets. Also, they could've traded the #1 pick away and drafted Williams later, and they would've gotten a 3rd rounder too. Now, they ruin the first part of David Carr's career because they have no offensive line. I'm saying this right now: If he gets on with a decent team, he will put up great numbers. Matt Schaub isn't going to succeed in Houston unless they do something with their line. This does matter a lot, especially to Brady Quinn. Now we know he's not going to Houston, and if Cleveland signs David Carr he's not going there either. I still think Quinn ends up in Miami. I totally agree that the Texans have a bunch of boneheads in their front office. Think about this for a second. The Texans still could have drafted Reggie Bush because he has a heck of a lot more upfront value than Mario Williams. I mean that's what the Chargers did with Eli Manning. They traded him to the Giants and it was instrumental in both franchises flourishing the way they did. Now, here's what they should have done. Houston should have drafted Reggie Bush; the Jets still would have drafted D'Brickashaw Ferguson #4... if a deal was proposed at that point, the Jets would have gotten Reggie Bush because, don't forget, the Jets were vulnerable with Curtis Martin on IR and no solid backup (Kevan Barlow does not count). The Texans would have not only gotten D'Brickashaw Ferguson but probably the Jets 2nd round pick (K. Clemens) and the Jets 1st round pick for the 2007 Draft. If all that happens, Thomas Jones would not be a Jet and he'd probably still be a Chicago Bear.
RmembrZito75
Let's see if my team, the Vikings, will pick him up because we need a mediocre quarterback that can compete for the starting position amongst Tarvaris Jackson, and Brooks Bollinger. Before the draft many NFL analysts said him and Reggie Bush were both hall-of-fame talents. Does anyone else that think the Texans WAY overpaid the Falcons (swap 1st round picks, 2 2nd round picks to ATL) for Schaub and overpaid Schaub in his contract (6 yrs, $48 mil)? He's started TWO games for crying out loud!
el_jefe061
Cleveland won't sign Carr. C'mon really. There was David Carr to Cleveland trade talk after the Super Bowl. Why wouldn't Cleveland go after David Carr? It would be exactly like the Miami signing of Joey Harrington; sign a high upside guy on the cheap, if he sucks then it's no loss, if he doesn't than you have a decent QB. RaptorQuiz
Mike Martz loved David Carr. So now that Martz is offensive coordinator for DET, I bet they at least make a passing attempt (no pun intended) for Carr.
ronmexico
Everyone's so negative on the most accurate passer of last year, and a guy who has been running for his life (not even figuratively) since the moment he stepped on a field. It is just wrong what they did to him, now they cut him, and I say good riddance to bad rubbish (Texans management). He can go to Cleveland, Minnesota, Miami, Detroit so they can take another WR , Chicago if they're not done hating Rex Grossman, and even Kansas City if they get rid of Trent Green. ronmexico
Potential Favre replacement? :chin: I think he wants something now, not necessarily in a situation where he might only get to start in a year or two. I think that's a great idea though.
DeuceBlades
Cleveland won't sign Carr. C'mon really. Dont laugh, they have an interview with him soon. It was on the radio earlier this week. I know it doesnt matter, because its just speculation, but a guy cant throw a pass laying on his AAHHSSSSS.......lol I think, given the right QB coach, and a better offensive line, in that case, any offensive line is better than Houstons, he might have a chance to develope into that kind of QB, everyone was expecting. He has a few good years left, and I hope he does find a team. Id like to see him shove it into the Texans face.

I realize the Texans have had a horrible OLine, but it's still hard to see Cleveland's OLine as an improvement. Although, I realize they made a FA signing (Steinbach?). DeuceBlades
Cleveland had alot of injuries on the O line last year. It is an upgrade to the Texans O line, obviously its not an huge one, but the Browns are getting better. With a solid draft, the Browns should be in a position to at least have a winning record, if not 8-8. We have alot of weapons on offence, and you know they are gonna take Adrian Peterson. Just look at what the Saints did, when they picked up Bush. They went from Celler Dweller, to first. Im not saying the Browns will do that, but you never know in the NFL. Stranger things have happened, and I wouldnt be surprised in any case. Im not sold on Frye or Anderson, but Anderson is better than Frye, and I also believe Carr is better than both of them.
