Manny Ramirez and Frank Thomas each hit home runs as the Orioles defeated New York 7-2. Pat Jacobsen (1-0), in his first start for Baltimore went seven innings, scattering five hits while striking out five. "It's nice to get that kind of run support," Jacobsen said. "Getting that first win helps me find my groove. Near the end of the game I was getting a little tired, but nothing a few starts won't fix." Darrell Rasner (0-1) was on the losing end for the Yankees (2-3), giving up five earned runs on 10 hits. Chris Gomez hit his first of the year, and the usual suspects of Manny Ramirez and Frank Thomas added one each. "A change of scenery is nice," Thomas said. "I feel fresh and I am hitting the ball well. Only 11 to go for 500 so we can see how soon I can get it." Erik Bedard atoned for his loss on opening day, going 6 1/3 innings, giving up one run while striking out six. Barry Bonds went homerless for the sixth straight game, but collected two singles and two runs. Lance Reid extended his hitting streak to six games. xcrunner4623
some might not like it, but i love the new lineup. fans better bring their gloves to the yard in baltimore this season They should, all I am saying is bombs away if I get into a groove. I still haven't hit one with Bonds so I am kinda angry, but it will come. I am still working on balancing the right sliders to make a realistic game. I have the old pitch cursor cause I hated the new one, so I need to make that a lot smaller and I have. My pitcher fatigue is set way up and so it CPU contact and power. We'll see how it turns out. I need to learn GIMP or Photoshop.

xcrunner4623
ORIOLES TAME TIGERS IN EXTRA INNINGS BALTIMORE - In the home opener for the Orioles, the Tigers took them to the limit. Late inning heroics propelled Baltimore to the win in the 11th inning. Detroit went up early in the third off of a Curtis Granderson RBI single. The Orioles responded in the next frame, as Manny Ramirez hit his fourth home run of the year. "It seems to be clicking," Ramirez said after the game. "I am just locking in and sending them into the seats." Gary Sheffield homered in the top of the sixth inning, putting the Tigers up 3-1. After the home run, Kris Benson was relieved for Sendy Rleal, who continued his marvelous mop-up duties. Baltimore tied it in the seventh when Ramon Hernandez stroked an RBI single, and Lance Reid made up for his three strikeouts in the game with an RBI single of his own. The game went into the bottom of the eleventh, when Chris Gomez roped an RBI single off of Joel Zumaya to plate Jim Thome for the 4-3 win. xcrunner4623
TIGERS DOWN ORIOLES 8-5 BEHIND THREE HOME RUNS BALTIMORE - It was just one of those days for Daniel Cabrera. The Detroit Tigers had their way with the young fireballer, smacking 13 hits and 4 runs. In the top of the first, Carlos Guillen crushed one to dead center over the head of Corey Patterson for the 1-0 lead. Magglio Ordonez homered in the next frame, putting the Tigers up 2-0. Down 4-0 going into the sixth, the Orioles showed life. Ceaser Izturis ripped a two RBI triple and later scored on a Manny Ramirez sacrafice fly. But the Tigers put the game away in the eigth, when Brandon Inge hit his third home run of the year. Lance Reid's hit streak ended at six games. Baltimore (7-2) was propelled by Wright (2-0), who took a perfect game into the sixth inning, when John Buck homered with two outs. "I thought I made a great pitch," Wright said. "I guess a high and away change-up gets demolished every so often." Wright pitched a great game for the Orioles, going 8 1/3 innings, scattering 4 hits, while giving up 2 runs. Lance Reid got back on the hit parade, collecting a hit to bring him within 116 of 3,000. Jim Thome hit his third home run of the year in the eigth. Four runs later, the Orioles were clinging to a 6-4 lead with Chris Ray struggling to hold more runs from crossing the plate. But Ray got both Shealy and Emil Brown to fly out. Baltimore took the lead primarily in part to four home runs. Barry Bonds connected on his first of the year, sending one 448 feet away, nearly hitting the warehouse. "It's nice to finally get one on the board," Bonds said. "Hopefully I can get a couple more to catch up to Hank." Manny Ramirez launched his fifth of the year, and Frank Thomas put two out of his own. redsox
Are you planning on trading the players away after they have reached the milestone and maybe acquire new players that are pretty close to a milestone themselves. That would be pretty neat thing.

That would be pretty neat thing. I think that is a good idea, and I might use it. All I know of milestone wise is Craig Biggio and Tom Glavine. Biggio might have the record by the time I get him, so I am not sure. I could trade Brian Roberts for Biggio. But I will not have Glavine on my team. redsox
Here are some milestones that are attainable. - Biggio - 70 hits required for 3000 - Sosa - 12 HR away from 600 - Ken GriffeyJr. - 37 HR away from 600 - Manny - needs 3 GS to tie Lou Gehrig for all-time - Pedro needs 2 SO for 3000 (which should have already been over) - Glavine 10 wins away from 300 (but you said you won't trade for him) - Roger Clemens - 16 wins needed for most career wins post 1920s. - Hoffman - 18 saves needed for 500 - Randy Johnson - 20 wins for 300 (which maybe attainable considering the lineup you are boasting right now)

But maybe after I reach milestones and trade players away, these players you talk about will be closer to those spots so it is easier for me to get. Very interesting idea Red Sox. Odalis Perez and Brandon Duckworth got to see exactly why. Baltimore hit 8 home runs on the night, as they pounded the Royals 13-2. Jim Thome, Barry Bonds, and Lance Reid each had two. "It's nice to get those home runs," Reid said. "I was getting tired of those singles." Perez shared different thoughts after the game. "They bent me over and violated me today," Perez said. "They hit everything. I am surprised I didn't see the kitchen sink come flying at me." Manny Ramirez and Melvin Mora also had home runs. In the bottom of the 8th inning, Bonds, Ramirez, and Thome went back-to-back-to-back. Fans should be warned when they come to see the Orioles. Bring your shields. Craig Biggio brought his when he was traded before the game to the Orioles for Brian Roberts. Thome batted second in the second inning and lifted James Shields' (0-1) fastball to dead center for his seventh home run of the season. Jaret Wright was spectacular throughout the game, only allowing one run to score on a Delmon Young sacrafice fly. "Things are feeling good," Wright said. "I just needed to get some rust out of the way and you'll see how well I can pitch."
