Hocking
I have a quick question about datafiles. I currently have Trues "Datafile V1.4" installed, and I also have another "MVP Fielding Cams" datfiles installed as well. The "MVP Fielding Cams" change my views when I am in the field, and Trues "Datafile V1.4" changes the views when I am batting and pitching. My question is, do these datafiles change any other variables within my MVP07 game? I know the datafile included with the MVP07 mod include fixes for ball behavior and stuff like that. I do not want to change any of these types of settings at all. I would rather just stick with the original MVP07 datafile that came with that mod. The only thing I want to change are my views only. Do either of these two files change anything else other than views?
superciuc
Only if you back up your files.
Hocking
I guess I should make my question a little clearer. I installed MVP2007. I know that MVP2007 came with a datafile, and I think this datafile it came with has code that effect ball behavior and other aspects of the gameplay that I do not really want to change. I do, however, like different views that are provided by datafile's released by Trues (Datafile V1.4), and another datafile called "MVP Fielding Cams". These two datafiles supposedly alter views only, and nothing else according to their readme's. These two files with the new camera views are ".txt" files. Trues Datafile V1.4 is a "datafile.txt" file that you physically put into the "MVP Baseball 2005/Data" folder. The "MVP Fielding Cams" consists of several ".txt" files that you import into the actual "datafile.big" file within the datafile folder itself. This makes me think that the only parts of the actual "datafile.big" file that is being changed are the new views that these two mods offer, but I am not sure. If I install these two datafiles in order to get the new camera views they offer, will I be changing other aspects of the gameplay such as ball physics and other things like this that came with the original MVP2007 datafile? I guess what I want is the new camera views only, but I would like everything else to be kept the same as what came with MVP2007. Sorry for being so clueless about this kind of stuff. Thanks for any answers you can give me, or links to areas of the forums that explain what the datafile actually is, and what it does.
superciuc
Trues datafile will change the 07 mod datafile but i don't know nothing about the fielding cams. BTW,Trues datafile is a lot better then the 07 mod datafile.
Cash #25
It's my understanding that Trues 1.4 is the 07 mod datafile with camera changes only. Is that correct? This other fielding cam datafile is older than the 07 mod, right? So it would have different physics, depending on which datafile it's based on. My question is, can you even use two datafiles at once?
superciuc
No,you can't.
Hocking
I updated my post a couple of posts above this after you all had posted a few replies, so I will ask a few of the question that already appear above. Sorry for any confusion. These two files ("Trues Datafile V1.4" and "MVP Fielding Cams") with the new camera views are ".txt" files. Trues Datafile V1.4 is a "datafile.txt" file that you physically put into the "MVP Baseball 2005/Data" folder. The "MVP Fielding Cams" download consists of several ".txt" files that you import into the actual "datafile.big" file within the datafile folder itself by using the "Installer Thingy 2.4" tool. The way you install these two mods makes me think that the only parts of the actual "datafile.big" file that is being changed are the new views that these two mods offer. I believe everything else within the datafile.big file is left unchanged except for the camera views that these two mods offer. Thanks for any answers you can give me, or links to areas of the forums that explain what the datafile actually is, and what it does.
redsox
I maybe completely off-base here, but you can probably try the following. Install the MVP Fielding Cams into the datafile.big. Then use EAGraph to extract the datafile.txt from the datafile.big. All you would then have to do, is go to the lines that represent the camera mods in the datafile.txt that you extracted and copy and paste into Trues' datafile. To my understanding, if there is a datafile.txt in th MVP2005/data folder, then that is the only datafile that the game utilizes. I am not sure if this would work or not, but I guess you could give this a try and see. Basically you can take how many ever datafiles that you want and incorporate different things from them into another datafile. Hope that makes sense. Take care.
