newb question

hey, sorry to ask a probably stupid question, but i would love to change the players you can unlock for the heros and legends team to guys such as Mark McGwire, Jose Canseco, etc... is this possible, and how would i go about doing it? I've never done a mod or anything, but i am very good at following instructions and/or figuring it out with the right program if somebody could point me in the right direction i would appreciate it very much.
