possible new total conversion mod

I am fairly new to this site and have limited knowledge (if any) of modding. I would like to see a 1998 total conversion mod to relive that great year. Will Sosa and McGwire duke it out again? Can the Yankees break the single season win record? I think this is a great season and warrants a mod. If anyone is out there that would like to make this, I would love it. Also, I know this is a stretch, but I live in Wisconsin and would like to see a mod that replaces one of the minor leagues with the Single A Midwest League. I have been going to Wisconsin Timber Rattlers games for years now and would like to see them in the game. This is more of a wish than a request, probably because it won't happen, but I can hope can't I?

no wonder why yankees fans r the only people replying...

The '98 Padres are also in Total Classics, if that makes you feel any better....

I have been thinking about 1998 myself as a Summer project for the roster. But I don't think there is enough demand as it happened 9 years ago. But re-living the homerun race, pitching with the Braves' rotation, dominating the league with Clemens or Kevin Brown, hitting with Cal Ripken or Tony Gwynn; it would be a thrill. That and both the Diamondbacks and Devil Rays could actually be used.

Actually I would love to see a 1998 season mod. The Jays had a winning year as well as a whole bunch of future stars including Vernon Wells, Roy Halladay, Chris Carpenter, and a couple good bats too in Shawn Green and Carlos Delgado. I also loved those uniforms they wore back then. That was the Glory year of baseball for me. I was only 8 and it was an adventure each time I'd go to the ballpark. Ahh, the memories...

I think that, and 2001 would be the top two "recent classics" to use. I'm already trying to do rosters for 2001, but it's pretty hard being that it's hard to find material from back then.

You can import rosters from any year into MVPEdit using the Lahman database. It's pretty simple: File -> Import -> Lahman Database

If you do that, does that overwrite all the rosters? Or can you pick and choose which teams to import? Example: '27 NYY and '75 CIN, not all 1927 or all 1975 team rosters.

You choose one team at a time, and you select which current team the new one will overwrite. You need to be aware that when you import a team, it will most likely have more than 25 players on the roster, since Lahman includes all players who were on the team for a particular year. You will need to reduce the roster to 25 players.

In addition, you will need to create your pitching rotations and lineups and update the pitchers' pitch types.
