philly
I'm running the MVP 07 mod, and ever since I installed I am unable to change the Player Detail setting in the game. It is set to Low and the option is shaded out so that I can't change it, though I can change everything else. My laptop is well more than capable of playing the game on maximum settings, but it's annoying having to deal with players that look like they're out of the PSX generation. I tried to find a settings file or something to edit it manually but am not really sure what to look for. I also searched this board but whatever string I used didn't turn up any results. How can I force it to use High player detail instead of thinking my laptop is a piece of crap mistakenly? Or...are the graphics settings stored in a file that I can jump to and change it by hand? Any solution would help.
stecropper
There is something called "3D Analyzer 2.0" which can be found somewheres in these forums. I found it a couple of times and it solved my problem which I was having on my laptop. I would likely use search terms "Player Detail Low" and scroll down to some very early dated post because I kind of remember that it was posted long ago. philly
Oh damn, yeah you're right. No idea how I missed that one the first time around.. Sorry.
philly
As an addendum... That 3danalyze program didn't do anything at all. I tried multiple combinations of settings and none of them worked, including the one described in the original topic. I have the most updated driver for my integrated video card, which is from 2005 since Dell won't let me download the REAL one from the ATi website. I have to use their knockoff version. But that is another story... So is there no way to find where the settings are stored? I mean seriously...it must be located somewhere, or else how would the game know what my settings are every time it loads up? There must be a way to force it. Kccitystar
I don't quite understand why people play the game on a laptop especially when the PC version of the game is primarily designed with desktops in mind hence the requirements for certain video cards and/or certain video card chipsets
bsmit251
I had the same problem. I fixed it by powering up my laptop with the power cord puged in. for some reason if I powered up my notebook with the battery i couldnt change the settings, but with the ac cord in I could. see if this helps. philly
My laptop is always plugged in because I rarely take it anywhere without an A/C outlet, so that's not the problem. So does nobody know where the video settings are stored?
ibanezjp
are you sure you are using ver 2.0 of 3d analyze, cause thats the only version that works with mvp. I had the same problem before when I was using an integrated card, and I just opened 3d analyze and opened mvp within that and it worked. You may just need to buy a new graphics card. (you could get a good one for 50-80 bucks)
jhath
My Player Detail is stuck on "Low" and won't change. How do I fix this? 1. Download 3d analyze v2.0, which you can get here Note: You MUST use version 2.0. The others do not work for MVP. 2. Open the program, and select the mvp.exe (Default location is C:Program FilesEA SPORTSMVP Baseball 2005), and look for Misc on the right side and where it says "countdown for disable rendering/disable state swiches in seconds" and input "0" in. 3. Run the game from 3d analyze. 4. In the in-game option menu, make sure helmet reflections are off. It wont work unless they are off. Finally, here is a screenshot of what it should look like. 5. Now, back in 3d analyze, feel free to select other options to improve gameplay. There is an option to "remove stuttering/studdering" but some users found subsequent gameplay to be too fast. Experiemnt with different configurations to find what works best for you. I have asked several times for this to be included in the FAQ, but mark keeps ignoring me. Its getting kinda annoying, especially since it still comes up quite a bit.

Even if he does get a new video card, its gonna either cost more to have it installed or take a lot of time and frustration to do it himself. philly
Yeah I tried version 2.0 and version 2.36 and neither one worked. Nobody has told me if the video settings are stored in a file somewhere. I assume not then?
