Hey, TS, just wondering...why not just do a fantasy draft and get into playing the game?

I do like your write ups, I'd just like to see them used more during the 'season.'

I'm trying to do this dynasty a certain way, that's all. Besides, this keeps all the other teams intact too.

I'm going to be getting into the season soon, no worries there. I'm almost done with the "preseason".

I think that what TwentySeven is doing is FAR more interesting than just a fantasy draft. It's fun to see all the trades and juicy rumors. Keep it up, TwentySeven!

So what's the lineup looking like right now? Or do we all have to wait in suspense?

Nice work, dying to see what's next...

LF Melky Cabrera

CF Alexis Rios

RF Carlos Quentin

3B Garrett Atkins

SS Marco Scutaro

2B Robinson Cano

1B ???

DH ???

C Chris Iannetta

I already know how I'm filling in those blanks, but I'm not telling.

Loving what you did to the lineup. Will Travis Buck get time playing this year?

Probably, but he won't be a starter - my outfield is pretty packed already. That actually looks like it's going to be a problem for me. Obviously, if you look at it, Quentin is going to be an absolute stud in the outfield for years. Melky doesn't project to have enough power, so I'll see how that turns out. Rios doesn't look like he has much plate discipline or power, so I'll see how that turns out. But I definitely have a full outfield.

"No effect on the team whatsoever" lol, have you been reading baseball prospectus?

Its no change at all, same manager and everything. Why would it have any effect?

And yes, I read baseball prospectus every day.

Oh, I thought you meant "no effect" by it doesn't matter who the manager is. BP is good, but sometimes they get on my nerves. I'd rather be reading Bill James or Rob Neyer than BP, but it's still overall good stuff.

That's not what they said at all. In the book "Baseball Behind the Numbers", they found that switching from a "fiery" manager (Ozzie Guillen) to a laid back manager (Torre) causes the team to improve for a couple seasons before they return to normal, and likewise, switching from "laid back" to "fiery" causes the team to improve, but then go back. It was actually a quite interesting study.

Actually, I have that book about two feet away from me. (Isn't it weird we've been reading the same books - Behind the Numbers, and Fantasyland.) You're right, now that I think about it, that isn't necessarily what they said. BP writes some interesting stuff, but sometimes I get the impression they're a bit stuck up. On the whole though, I think the "scouts" side in the "stats vs. scouts" battle is more stuck up and pompous than the statistical people. The stats are still the underdogs.

Yes, I know, the handwriting isn't realistic. It's hard to make realistic handwriting with computer fonts.

1B Travis Ishikawa

2B Robinson Cano

3B Garrett Atkins

SS Marco Scutaro

IF Ryan Theriot

IF Kevin Frandsen

CF Alexis Rios

RF Carlos Quentin

OF Bronson Sardinha

SP Chien-Ming Wang (DL) replaced by SP Matt DeSalvo

SP Matt Cain

SP Adam Loewen

SP Kirk Saarloos

SP Jonathan Sanchez

SP Jeff Karstens (DL) replaced by SP Darrell Rasner

RP Justin Duchscherer (closer)

RP Scott Proctor (Set-up)

RP Bill Bray (DL) replaced by RP Chris Britton

Thoughts on the pregame report, please?

Also, I was going to try to get the game done today, but my game has been crashing at the starting screen. I'm currently trying to find a fix, but it's a bit late for me to play a game and then do the post game report and all that stuff, so expect the game tomorrow if I can get my game to start working.

Cheers!
