AnthonyBurke
Does anyone forsee EA Sports having an MVP Baseball 2010'? I think 989's little selfish corner on MLB games ends in 09'. I mean, I'm sure they know what a cult following they have with the MVP series even now. So does anyone see them making a new version of MVP, maybe (naming it something else but,) with similar engine and obvioulsy "new" gameplay & graphics, options etc...etc... and for PC <~~~One can only hope! Remdog
When EA bought the NFL rights that pretty much ruined everything. But I don't think 989's move will stick past 2009. Ea seems to be able to ruin anything, like the NHL series. But who knows.

I'd hope if they're releasing one in 2010, that they'd have an entirely new graphics engine, keeping the gameplay as similar as possible. When you think about it, most big-name non-sports games are in development for that long, so its not entirely out of the question.
SESbb30
how about the game companies quit being greedy a-holes, and everybody can make any sports game they want so we wont have to go through this stupid ****.

Remdog
If you don't think EA had anything to do with it your nuts. If they hadn't pissed off 989 by buying all the NFL rights do you really think 989 would have wasted time and money to get the MLB license? angryrat
989 didn't buy the license. They have rights to make MLB games because they are not a third party. T2 has the third party license. Hence why they can make a game this year. I also believe it was EA that started this mess, at least they were the first to officially act on it, when they bought the NFL license. And, there could be a chance its not the video game companies faults... the way Pro sports have been handled in the recent future, it could have been them that decided to put the licenses up for grabs. I'm nuts? 989 has nothing to do with either the MLB or NLF licensing issues any 1st party can make a MLB game, only 3rd party that can make a MLB game is Take2 Please get your facts straight before calling others names
krawhitham
I also believe it was EA that started this mess, at least they were the first to officially act on it, when they bought the NFL license. The NFL went to Sega & EA asked both if they wanted to buy rights, EA bid higher. EA had no choice, either win the bid or lose madden. The NFL is to blame here, they felt they could control their interests better with just one company making games. The NFL are control freaks why else would they require all NFL games be encrypted so they can not be modded. Sega's response to was to sell Visual Concepts (all 2k2 games) to Take2. Take2 response (since they can not make a NFL game) was to buy the MLB rights
jhoff80
Its unfortunate too that what many see as the inferior football game (I'm not among them, I preferred Madden), and what almost everyone sees as the inferior baseball games are the ones that are still being made. angryrat
the NFL2K series was pretty strong, at least years ago when I last played it. Like Madden it had its good points and it's bad. I think MLB The Show by 989 Sony has a chance to overtake the baseball crown. I haven't played this years game, but I am somewhat dissapointed that they haven't really made an effort to blow people away, and get them hooked on the game before the license returns to EA in the future. They have a chance to get a real nice head start and build a fan base, but I don't feel as though they are taking full advantage as their game (excluding this years) hasn't been overwhelmingly impressive. KidCavalier23
Heres an off topic question: When MVP comes back, will it still be called MVP Baseball?
