Timp
I was offered a pretty even fantasy trade, and I need your help in deciding. I would give up Ryan Howard, and receive Mark Texiera and Bobby Abreu. Here's my team and you can see that stat categories, too: I know Abreu would be a big RF upgrade, but I think Rios could put up similar numbers w/o me having to give up Howard for Tex. I do want Abreu though because he is a Yankee (my fav. team). Any advice anyone could offer would be great!
pfalvey
You could always start Abreu in your OF position over Ibanez, which would be an upgrade. I don't think the trade would hurt you, you would likely lose some HR's and RBI's but would pickup some more Runs, SB's and probably a slight increase in AVG. Your lineup is pretty stacked and doesn't seem to be deficient in any category. In fact, I don't understand how you got so many great players , I count at least 6 players (including Oswalt-P) on your team that would have gone in the 1st 3 rounds of a 12 team league. kaplerisking
Yeah, your team is absolutely stacked and it boggles my mind. Anyway, I'd say go for it. You have plenty of home runs already, so losing Howard really won't hurt you. In fact, this trade will probably add to your home run total if you start Abreu over Ibanez....figure about 40 HRs from Tex and 20-25 from Abreu and you're getting more home runs overall. angryrat
as said by the other two, your team is solid, and I agree, you should go for the trade. Texiera is no slouch, and Abreu will take Ibanez out of your lineup, and give you depth in the OF in case the awesome youngster Rios struggles throughout the season. I have Ryan Howard on my fantasy team as well. I'm not necassarily shopping him, but I wouldn't mind trading him if a trade like this came along. It's pretty balanced.
