sharkie
I have not played baseball since well you know 2005, so when I stumbled on this site I was very happy to give it a try, and besides my problem with not being able to see the pictch meter the only other issue I have is where do you put the data file, I can not remember. Please advise, also if you can solve my pitch meter issue that would make me smile also. shark
Jim825
The datafile goes in the Program Files MVP2005 Baseball data folder.
sharkie
Do you think a new data file will fix the pictch meter location?

sharkie
So the data file goes in the data folder. I did not see one in there by default. Am I just not seeing one? I am a bit confused. Oh and thanks for the link, will check to see if that will solve my other issue when I get home from work this evening.
Maestro23
The default install of MVP 05 does not include a datafile.
sharkie
so when I installed 07 mod there still was not one with that?
Jim825
The default install of MVP 05 does not include a datafile. That's not exactly true. The default datafile is in the Program Files MVP Baseball 2005 data datafile datafile.big file. If you were to open up that file with EAGraph, you would see that it contained datafile.txt. In order to edit a datafile, you first extract datafile.txt from datafile.big. After making your changes in the datafile.txt file, you can either reimport it into datafile.big (which is what they did in the MVP07 mod) or you can simply copy the datafile.txt file to the MVP Baseball 2005 data folder. When the game starts up, it looks for the .txt files (datafile.txt, stadium specific .txt files, etc.) in the data folder first. If it finds files there, it uses them, rather than the default ones in datafile.big. Using this method is an easy way to test out a variety of datafiles. Simply copy the one you want to try to the data folder. If you don't like it, you can either delete it and use the default datafile in datafile.big copy another one over it and try that one. Thanks for the correction Jim825. Have never messed with EAGraph.
sharkie
So in short, the datafile does control the pitch meter location. Am I correct in thinking this? I tried to seach this site, but there seemed to be alot of conflict on this subject and being at work makes it even harder to sort out my confusion. Thanks again for all the answers. shark
