To Tex

CF Jason Lane

RP Trevor Miller

I may have been ripped off a tad but I really cant stand Brad Wilkerson and I feel like I got some good players in return. Lane will be a great pinch hitter on the bench and Miller should be a reliable arm in my bullpen.

Im going to start off my dynasty with a few of the Rangers better young prospects in the bigs.

Yeah thats Freddy Guzman alright :). Got Nelson Cruz in AAA for now... Guzman is a pretty solid fielder. Not much of a hitter lol, especially not against lefties. Id be suprised if he hits for over .270, hes got like 64 contact and 40 power vs righties which isnt too bad. 93 Speed makes me smile. :)...

Thanks guys... My other dynasty was corrupted somehow. Im going to be backing this one up so that shouldnt happen again.

Im going to use the FSN Southwest Overlay :).

Yeah for sure Nelson Cruz or Hairston will most likely be my first call ups if a player on my team is slumping at the plate. If Guzman plays bad ill just send him down and replace him with Cruz or Lane.

Rangers Top Prospects

#1 mayberryxc9.jpg

#2 hurleyev2.jpg

#3 diamondqj6.jpg

Mayberry: This kid has great power potential and should turn into a fantastic everyday starter. Hes about 2 Seasons away from the MLB, however he could possibly see time in the Bigs next year. Mayberry Junior is easily the best Rangers prospect.

Hurley: Eric Hurley has come a long way from where he was in 05. Rangers organization didnt expect much from but after a standout year of AA ball last season and winning the Rangers minor league pitcher of the year he looks poised to make it to the bigs.

Diamond: Thomas Diamond could see time in the bigs this season if Volquez or someone else in the Rangers organization struggles. Very solid prospect, he may be better coming out of the bullpen.

Game 1 of 3: Texas Rangers(1-0) Vs Los Angeles Angels(0-1)

Angels Comeback Falls Short

matthewsgagnefe8.jpg

Left: Matthews Jr Striking Out in the 3rd Inning | Right: Gagne coming into the game in the 9th to save the day

texlaafinalgm1zf8.jpg

texlaapitchstatsgm1nw8.jpg

Game Wrap:

Texas wasted no time getting to Lackey in the 2nd, Loading up the bases with none out but somehow were only able to score 1 that inning. However the Rangers would not waste another opporunity as they would load the bases up again in the 4th and Laird would blast one out to right field. Rangers had a comfortable lead until the ninth where Millwood got a quick 1st out but came out of the game and Littleton came in, Little gave up a Home Run and Two doubles and did not record an out so in came Gagne with a man on 2nd and a 2 run lead. He would get the final 2 batters to pop fly.

Rangers Notes:

- Kenny Lofton went 0 for 5 in his Rangers debut.

Player Of The Game:

C Gerald Laird 2 for 3, HR, 5 RBI's

Matthews not doing so well in this Opener... :D

Good luck, sorry to hear about the crashing issue, just one of the many issues that have gotten in the way of my dynasties being anything close to consistent.

Game 2 of 3: Texas Rangers(2-0) Vs Los Angeles Angels(0-2)

Blalock Hits 3 Dingers, Rangers Mount HUGE Comeback

texlaafinalgm2ds1.jpg

texlaapitchstatsgm2xd1.jpg

Game Wrap:

Wow, Wow, And WOW. The Angels were just cruising along with a nice 8-3 lead until the the 8th Inning. Where you'd figure some sort of bomb went off. The Rangers loaded up the Bases on singles, Then Guzman brought 1 in on a single followed by a Lofton single scoring one, and followed by a Michael Young single scoring two, and followed by a HANK BLALOCK Home Run scoring 3, followed by a Teixeira triple thanks to an error by Vladi, Sosa brought him in on a sac fly. It wasnt until 9th batter they recorded an out in that inning. The Rangers had a 12-8 lead and despite Feldman giving up a few hits in the last 2 innings the Angels just didnt have any Juice left.

Texas will try for the sweep tommorow.

Rangers Notes:

- Sammy Sosa went 0 for 4 and stuckout twice, He was the only player in the game without a Hit

- Hank Blalock had a career high game with RBI's and Home Runs

- Frank Francisco gave up 2 Home Runs in one Inning of work.

Player Of The Game:

nac8xrxrrr9.jpg

3B Hank Blalock 4 for 5, 3 HR's, 7 RBI's, Game Winning RBI

---------------------------------------------------

Rangers Transactions

- Rangers Designate RHP Frank Francisco for assignment

- Rangers Call Up RHP Josh Rupe from (AAA) Oklahoma Redhawks

---------------------------------------------------

Bizzarre game, I thought I was done after Francisco game in the game for me and gave up a couple Home Runs in the 6th, but before I knew it I had a few runners on in the 8th and just kept bringing them in and Blalock hit out his 3rd HR lol. Escobar was hanging his splitter vs Blalock every single time.

Left: Teixeiras 3 Run Blast in the 1st Inning | Right:Juan Rivera scoring the Game Winning Run

texlaafinalgm3qx9.jpg

texlaapitchstatsgm3yalz1.jpg

Game Wrap:

Ervin Santana had some trouble in the first Inning, giving up a huge blast to Tex, but he would settle down nicely. The Angels didnt get on the board until the 5th where Howie Kendrick would hit a solo home run to make it 3-1. The Angels would get to Volquez again the very next inning scouring an RBI single by Kotchman and a Solo HR by Cabrera to tie the game. Texas would go up 4-3 in the 8th where Kinsler hit a leadoff triple and Laird got him in on an RBI Single.Bottom of the ninth, Gagne was in and all looked well until Rivera hit a double to put men on 2nd and 3rd. The very next batter Gary Matthews Jr smacked a single to give the Angels the Win.

Rangers Notes:

- Sammy Sosa is 0 for 8 with 3 strikeouts in his last 2 games.

- Gerald Laird got hurt in the 8th Inning on an RBI Single, And will be out for 2 Weeks with an Inflamed Right Elbow

Player Of The Game:

OF Gary Matthews Jr. 1 for 5, 2 RBI's, Game Winning RBI

Home Opener

bosxv5.gifwakefielddi9.jpg@chenup9.jpgtexam4.gif

0-0, 0.00 Wakefield R --- 0-0, 0.00 Chen L

Game: Fri., April 6 at 12:05 p.m. CT

Scouting Report: Wakefield packs a very impressive Knuckleball pitch but this Rangers lineup is very good at hitting off-speed pitches. If Texas is able to hit the Knuckleball it should be a short start for Wakefield. Chen a southpaw could trouble the Red Sox lineup as they are not a great lefty hitting team. However Chen doesnt have a dominant pitch like Wakefield, but he does have a decent Curveball and 4 Seamer. Edge: Boston...

Series Probables

bosxv5.gifsnyderaw5.jpg@padillazd6.jpgtexam4.gif

0-0, 0.00 Snyder R ---- 0-0, 0.00 Padilla R

Game: Sat., April 7 at 3:05 p.m. CT

Scouting Report: Kyle Snyder brings a nice curve and 4 seamer to the mound however you wont see him striking out many batters, hes not the type of pitcher that will go 9 Innings and dominate. The Red Sox will be lucky if they get 6 innings out of him. Padilla is coming off a career year and the Rangers organization expects big things from him once again this season. With 5 pitches in his arsenal he throws one very well and thats his 4 seamer. Padilla relies on Ground outs and Pop Flys. Edge: Texas...

bosxv5.gifschillingbx9.jpg@millwoodcopynf8.jpgtexam4.gif

0-0, 17.18 Schilling R ----- 1-0, 2.15 Millwood R

Game: Sun., April 8 at 6:05 p.m. CT

Scouting Report: Schilling is coming off a god awful first start vs the Royals. Lasting only 3 Innings giving up 7 Runs and walking 3 Batters in a 12-11 loss. Despite being 40 Years Old he still has 4 fantastic pitches, with two dominant ones a Splitter and a 4 Seamer. Millwood is coming off a great first start where he went 8 Innings long and only giving up 2 runs on 7 hits in a Rangers win. If the Red Sox can rattle Millwood early dont expect to see Millwood in the game for too long. Edge: Boston...

Rangers Hold On For The Win

Left: Coco Crisp celebrating his HR with Pedroia | Right: "Hey Ladies!" Sosa after his 1st HR of the Season and Game Winning HR

bostexfinalscoregm4oa7.jpg

bostexpitchstatsgm4tm0.jpg

Game Wrap:

Both teams wasted no time getting on the scoreboard, Texas scored in the 2nd Inning on an RBI Triple by Kinsler to go up 1-0. Boston struck back with a HUGE 3rd where Crisp hit a solo HR and J.D. Drew scored 2 on an RBI Double to give them a 4-1 Lead but that lead didnt last long as Teixeira hit a 2 out 3 Run Homer in the bottom of the 3rd to tie it up. The Rangers got another 2 Out Home Run in the 5th where Sosa smacked one out to left to make it 6-4. Both starting pitchers were in effective today as they both gave up 11 Hits and 5 and 6 Runs.

Down 6-5 in the 9th with Gagne in the game and one out. Lugo hit a single and Ortiz hit a single to give them a man on first and a man on 2nd with 2 outs. Man Ram at the dish, on 2-2 count he swung at a curveball low but inside the strikezone and hit it right into 3rd Baseman Hank Blalocks glove as the Rangers take the game 6-5 with Gagne getting the save...

Rangers Notes:

- Catcher Chris Stewart went 0 for 3 with 2 Strikeouts in place of Gerald Laird.

- Frank Catalanatto is now batting a nice .533

- Rangers pitchers did not strike out one Red Sox Batter.

Player Of The Game:

Game 2 of 3: Boston Red Sox(3-2) Vs Texas Rangers(3-2)

Sox Win On Man Ram Grand Slam

hankmanramei0.jpg

Left: Both Benches clear as Blalock charges the Mound | Right: Man Ram knows its gone, 9th Inning Grand Slam

bostexfinalgm5nw1.jpg

boxtexpitchstatsgm5cd6.jpg

Game Wrap:

Rangers had the lead early but the Sox slowly came back and eventually it was tied 4-4 going into the bottom of the ninth. Where they quickly got on base on two singles and a walk to load the bases up with none out and Man Ram at the plate. On a 1-2 count Man Ram took a pitch inside on the hands and blasted it to deep left field for a GRAND SLAM.

The Rangers didnt even get a hit in the bottom of the 9th. BoSox take game 2 of the 3 game series. Tommorow it will be Schilling Vs Millwood...

Rangers Notes:

- 3B Hank Blalock was Ejected in the first inning for charging the mound.

- Frank Catalanotto went 0 for 4

E: Hank Blalock 2 (2)

Player Of The Game:

You've only lost two games so far. You should wait a few weeks, see how your pen develops and maybe call up and send down players.
