Pokeys
Game 3 of 3: Boston Red Sox(4-2) Vs Texas Rangers(3-3) Red Sox Win Shootout Blalock & Tex back to back Home Runs in the 5th Inning Game Wrap: The Red Sox hitters had no trouble vs the Rangers pitching as they went to work right away scoring 1 run in the first followed by back to back 3 run innings and as bad as Millwood struggled Schilling struggled equally giving up 2 Home Runs in the 5th and the Rangers came within a run of the Sox. They very next inning they stretched that lead again to 2 as Coco Crisp hit a 2 out RBI Single to make it 9-7. The Rangers would make it 9-8 on a RBI single by Kinsler. Down 9-8 the Rangers struggled in the 7th and 8th Innings vs Okajima and Timlin. But in the 9th Inning with the Heart of lineup due up they had some momentum. Hank Blalock hit a 1 out single to get on base, Tex came up to plate and was swinging for the fences but popped out and almost hit into a double play, but the Rangers hopes were still alive with Slamming Sammy due up however it was an awful at bat as he swung on the 2nd pitch a fastball low and away. The Red Sox take the series... Rangers Notes: - 2B Ian Kinsler was a Double away from hitting for the Cycle. - Rangers pitchers gave up a combined 21 Hits. E: Kenny Lofton (1) Player Of The Game: 2B Ian Kinsler 4 for 5, 3B, HR, 2 RBI's

Pokeys
Upcoming Series & Probables @ 0-1, 7.20 Fossum L --- 0-0, 10.80 McCarthy R Game: Mon., April 9 at 6:05 p.m. CT Scouting Report: Fossum is a decent southpaw, that has 4 pitches and 3 solid ones. A few Rangers batters may have some trouble hitting him. Casey Fossum is coming off a rough first start getting rocked by the Jays hitters. Brandon McCarthy like Casey Fossum had a rough first game, going only 5 Innings and giving up 6 Runs on 10 Hits however he pitched fairly well at times. He has 2 above average pitches to strikeout batters. Edge: Texas... @ 0-1, 3.38 Seo R --------- 0-0, 4.50 Volquez R Game: Tue., April 10 at 6:05 p.m. CT Scouting Report: Seo a somewhat unknown pitcher around the big leagues is a good pitcher that can throw 5 pitches and confuse batters with his deceptive delivery. Coming off a decent start going 5.1 Innings only giving up a couple runs and striking out 6. Volquez, an awesome Rangers pitching prospect brings some nasty stuff every time he steps on the mound the only question is is if he can locate his pitches, Volquez can be wild at times. Devil Rays hitters should have some trouble against his Slurve and 4 Seamer. Edge: Texas... @ 1-0, 0.00 Shields R ------ 0-0, 0.00 Tejeda R Game: Wed., April 11 at 6:05 p.m. CT Scouting Report: James Shield is coming off a rather dominant start as he pitched a complete game shutout vs the Jays only giving up 4 hits and walking one batter. Shields has some awesome off speed pitches to go along with a nice 4 seamer. Tejeda recently called up from Triple A ball is a one trick pony. Throwing a very nice fastball that clocks in around 90-93 MPH, but he may have some trouble with a good D-Rays Lineup. Edge: Tampa Bay... --------------------------------------------------- Rangers Transactions - Rangers Designate LHP Bruce Chen for assignment - Rangers Call Up RHP Robinson Tejeda from (AAA) Redhawks - (AAA) Redhawks Send Down 1B Jason Botts to (AA) Roughriders - (AAA) Redhawks Send Down CF Anthony Webster to (AA) Roughriders - (AAA) Redhawks Call Up 1B Nick Gold from (AA) Roughriders - (AAA) Redhawks Call Up CF Brandon Boggs from (AA) Roughriders --------------------------------------------------- Seeing as how he doesnt have a hit in 6 games I will send him down to AA to work on his swing. Calling up Robinson Tejeda for a spot start cause the D-Rays crush lefties.
Pokeys
Game 1 of 3: Tampa Bay Devil Rays(1-6) Vs Texas Rangers(4-3) Rangers Crush Fossum, D-Rays Left: Rocco Baldelli taking away a Mark Teixeira Home Run | Right: Tex Rounding the bases after a Solo HR Game Wrap: Texas got to Fossum right away, with a first pitch leadoff Home Run by Rookie Freddy Guzman. However that lead was short lasted as the D-Rays struck back in the 2nd on a Johnny Gomes 2 Run Homer. The Rangers were getting hits off Fossum but werent able to score any runs until the 4th where they played some small ball and capped it off with a Michael Young Grand Slam that just barely went over the fence. Rangers would add on a few more Runs and never look back to take the game 10-3. Brandon McCarthy pitched 7 solid innings only giving up 3 Runs. The Rangers Bullpen got the job done for once. Rangers Notes: - Sammy Sosa went 4 for 4 at the plate. - Freddy Guzman hit his first HR of the season. Player Of The Game: SS Michael Young 4 for 5, HR, 4 RBI's, Grand Slam
Pokeys
I just played a crazy game. 24 Hits and 13 runs but they only used two pitchers the whole game. Thats so retarded... Any Slider that reflects this. I know theres a CPU Pitcher Fatigue Slider but wouldnt that affect them more say when the pitcher is going for a complete game shutout or something like that. D-Unit
It might have to do with not taking a lot of pitches. If they are "economic" while pitching they will last longer.
Pokeys
Yeah thats probably it. Id actually try working the counts if these guys were good pitchers but they arent and everytime they threw stuff in the strike zone id be all over it. Oh well... Ill get my fair share of good pitchers.
Pokeys
Game 2 of 3: Tampa Bay Devil Rays(1-7) Vs Texas Rangers(5-3) Rangers Hammer D-Rays Part II Continued Left: Michael Young making a spectacular diving catch | Right: Can you say Blowout? Game Wrap: The Rangers hitters had no trouble whatsoever as they got to Seo early and often and before the 5th Inning was over he was gone. Texas put up 13 Runs and Edinson Volquez pitched 9 Innings of Brilliance as the D-Ray batters were stymied. Rangers Notes: - The Rangers scored a run in every innning but the 4th. Pokeys
Game 3 of 3: Tampa Bay Devil Rays(1- Vs Texas Rangers(6-3) Rangers Win, Sweep D-Rays Left: Sosa with a little jump in his step after hitting a Home Run | Right: Kinsler Home Run Game Wrap: Back and Forth game until the 5th where the Rangers scored 5 runs and Sammy Sosa hit a 2 Run Homer. Both starting pitchers were god awful, Shields lasting only 2 Innings and Tejeda lasting only 4 Innings. Both Bullpens werent much better but the Rangers would hold onto their big lead and run away with a 14-10 victory to sweep the D-Rays and drop them to 1-8 on the season. Rangers Notes: - Hank Blalock is on a 4 game hitting streak. - Starting Pitcher Robinson Tejeda gave up 4 Home Runs, Word around the locker room is that he will be sent down as early as Friday. Player Of The Game: 3B Hank Blalock 4 for 5, 2 2B, 2 RBI's

Pokeys
Upcoming Series & Probables @ 0-0, 3.86 Padilla R --- 0-1, 4.91 Hernandez R Game: Fri., April 13 at 6:05 p.m. CT Scouting Report: Padilla is coming off a decent first start where he went 7 Innings and earned a no decision. Padilla has 5 pitches in his arsenal but only one dominant pitch. Hernandez is off to a shakey start already starting in two games he has an 0-1 Record with a fairly bad ERA. If Hernandez is able to locate his 95 MPH fastball than expect a strong finish from him.Edge: Seattle... @ 1-1, 6.75 Millwood R --- 0-2, 6.23 Washburn L Game: Sat., April 14 at 11:55 a.m. CT Scouting Report: Millwood had a great first game to start the season but the last game vs the Red Sox he only lasted 2 Innings while he got rocked and saddled for the loss. However Seattles lineup is nothin like Bostons, chances are he pitches a much better game this time around. Jarrod Washburn is struggling to say the least, 0-2 with an ERA above 6. He will need to start out strong if he wants to be in the game past the 6th Inning.Edge: Texas... @ 1-0, 6.57 McCarthy R --- 0-1, 8.10 Weaver R Game: Sun., April 15 at 12:05 p.m. CT Scouting Report:McCarthy pitched 7 Innings only giving up 3 Runs on 8 hits against a potent D-Rays line-up. McCarthy isnt the type of pitcher thats going to overpower hitters, but he should be able to catch a few off guard with the late action on his nice Curveball. Dont be fooled by Jeff Weavers High ERA and losing record because he has 5 pitches and 3 Fantastic ones to go along with a nice delivery. Weaver like McCarthy are really hit or miss pitchers, if their on their games then they are very tough to hit, if not well lets just say it wont look pretty. Edge: Texas... Pokeys
Great Idea... Im going to do that. However sometimes I swing at balls lol, Especially with guys like Tex and Blalock. Pokeys
Game 1 of 3: Texas Rangers(7-3) Vs Seattle Mariners(0-11) Rangers Get To Hernandez Early, Mariners Remain Winless Left: Tex celebrating his 1st Inning Home Run | Right: Meeting on the Mound, Short night for the 'King' Game Wrap: Both teams got off to quick starts as Texas scored 3 In the first on a couple of Home Runs and Seattle scored 1 on a Sac Fly by Sexson. Down 3-1 Hernandez would settle down a bit that is until the 4th where the Rangers potent lineup struck again scoring 3 runs on a bunch of 2 Out Singles and that was the end of the evening for Mariners Ace Felix Hernandez. In came Jake Woods but the story didnt change as the Rangers put up another 3 Run inning in the 5th thanks to a RBI double by Steward and Home Run by Guzman. The Mariners would get to Padilla in the 6th but by then they were out of the game. Rangers pick up their 4th win in a row while the Mariners drop to 0-11. Rangers Notes: - Mark Teixeira hit his league leading 6th Home Run. - Jason Lane went 3 for 3 in a pinch hitting role for Frank Catalanatto. - Newly acquired Trever Miller pitched 2.2 Scoreless innings of relief, His best appearance since arriving from Houston. Player Of The Game: OF Freddy Guzman 2 for 4, HR, BB, 3 RBI's --------------------------------------------------- Rangers Transactions - Rangers Designate RHP Robinson Tejeda for assignment - Rangers Call Up LHP Bruce Chen from (AAA) Oklahoma Redhawks --------------------------------------------------- On a side note I like the fact that I can pitch with McCarthy and make him look like a million bucks at times. Left: "Damn, I hit that ball pretty hard I guess" Tex HR | Right: Mariners Win! Mariners Win! OMG First W of The Season Game Wrap: Washburn came out throwing heat and struck out the side in the first, Millwood was pitching good until the 5th where the Mariners hitters were able to get to him. The Mariners clap backed that Inning, Sexson hit a leadoff home run and Johjima blasted his 2nd of the game to give the Mariners a 5-2 Lead. Down 1 in the top of the 9th with three of the Rangers better hitters due up.Lane flied out, Blalock struck out, and pinch hitter Sammy Sosa grounded out. Rangers lose 6-5 to the awful Mariners...
