Pokeys
Upcoming Series & Probables @ 1-0, 2.40 Volquez R --- 1-0, 3.00 Garland R Game: Tue., April 17 at 6:11 p.m. CT Scouting Report: Volqeuz has been solid in 2 starts this season earning a Win and a No Decisicon. Coming off a complete game where he dominated the Devil Rays hitters and only gave up 1 run striking out five. Most beat writers think that game wasnt a coincendence as we could see more of Ed's domination quite often this season. Garland a mighty fine pitcher with 5 good pitches and a nasty Sinker to get batters out. Garland like Volquez is coming off a complete game Win. Dont be suprised to see the final score 3-2 or 2-1. Edge: Chicago... @ 1-0, 8.44 Chen L ------- 0-1, 5.73 Vazquez R Game: Wed., April 18 at 6:11 p.m. CT Scouting Report: Chen's last start came down in AAA with the Oklahoma Roughriders where he went 7 Innings striking out 4 batters and got the Win. However dont expect to see him pitch that well come Wednesday the White Sox have fantastic hitters all throughout the lineup. Vazquez has struggled so far this season, but that doesnt mean he cant turn it on at any point in time. He throws 5 pitches and 4 good ones, his best pitch is his Circle Change that makes hitters look flat out silly at times. Edge: Chicago... @ 1-0, 3.86 Loe R -------- 1-0, 1.59 Danks L Game: Thurs., April 19 at 6:11 p.m. CT Scouting Report: Kameron Loe will be making his first start of the season, however he has already pitched 14 Innings of relief over 4 appearances, Loe has 2 fantastic pitches a 4 Seamer and a Sinker that he throws late in counts. If he locates his pitches than the White Sox will be in trouble. John Danks a Southpaw and one time Ranger, is a very good pitching prospect. In his most recent start he dominated the Cleveland Indians hitters in 7.1 Innings of work. It will be interesting to see how he does against his former team. Edge: Chicago... Pokeys
Game 1 of 3: Texas Rangers(9-4) Vs Chicago White Sox(6-7) Rangers Beat Up On White Sox Left: Ed Volquez striking out Jermaine Dye swinging | Right: Rangers are rolling Game Wrap: The game started out slow with good pitching on both sides till the Power Rangers came to town in the 3rd. Michael Young hit a 2 RBI Triple and Tex Brought him in on HR to make the game 4-0. The White Sox bounced back in the 4th Inning with a Jim Thome Solo HR to make it 4-1 but the very next Inning Texas went to work again scoring on a leadoff Freddy Guzman HR and a Sammy Sosa 2 run HR. Volquez was absolutely filthy at times, still in the game in the 9th Inning giving up back to back to back singles he came out of the game after a fine performance. The White Sox would score 2 Runs that inning but that was not nearly enough. Rangers Notes: - Mark Teixeira has homered in 4 Straight Games. - Sammy Sosa hit his 591st Home Run. - Edinson Volquez struck out Jermaine Dye 3 times. Pokeys
Game 2 of 3: Texas Rangers(9-5) Vs Chicago White Sox(7-7) White Sox Shut Down The Rangers Left: Vazquez striking out Teixeira in the 9th Inning | Right: In comes Bobby Jenkszilla Game Wrap: The White Sox wasted no time getting on the scoreboard in the 1st on an RBI Sac Fly from Thome to go up 1-0. After that Vazquez took over retiring the first 11 Rangers batters in a row. Meanwhile the Southpaw Bruce Chen for the Rangers pitched well as he was forcing alot of ground outs. Skip ahead to the 7th where it become apparent Ron Washington left Chen in too long. As he would give up back to back singles and be replaced by reliever Scott Feldman but things didnt get better there as Joe Crede hit a double to score 2 and they added another run to make it 4-0. With Vazquez still pitching well heading into the 9th the Sox lead looked comfortable. However things quickly changed as Michael Young hit a leadoff single to get on base but then Vazquez got back to back outs. Sosa came on and was just INCHES short of a Home Run however he did score Young from 1st to make it 4-1. Ozzie Guillen wasnt taking any chances as he put closer Bobby Jenks in immediately after that. Jenks got Ian Kinsler to pop out. White Sox win 4-1... Rangers Notes: - Mark Teixeira had his 4 Game HR streak snapped and struckout 3 times at the plate. Pokeys
Gerald Laird Set To Return Randy Marsh / Dallas Morning News Dallas --- Catcher Gerald Laird should return this weekend from the Elbow injury that has sidelined him for a couple of weeks. Trainer Jack Winston says that Laird's elbow has healed properly and should be 100% ready to play. The Rangers since losing Laird have gone 7-4 however their backup catchers havent picked up the slack, Quiroz is only hitting .273 and Chris Stewart only .226 as the main catcher since losing Laird. Laird started the season on fire batting .364 with a HR and 6 Runs batted in in 3 Games and is expected pick right up from where he left off. This season is Lairds first as the Rangers starting Catcher...

Chicago put up Zeros all across the board as Loe mowed down batter after batter. Texas would add a run every inning after the 5th to take the game 10-0 and improve their record to 10-5. Rangers Notes: - Mark Teixeira is 0 for 8 in his last 2 games. - Kameron Loe pitched an absolute gem in his first Start of the season, who knows whats around the corner for him as this was only a spot start in replace of Vicente Padilla. - Gerald Laird went 2 for 4 and threw out one runner in his return. Player Of The Game: SP Kameron Loe 9 IP, 6 H, 8 K's, 0 ER, Complete Game Shutout --------------------------------------------------- The final score is a bit deceptive, the game was close really close for a while. He lasted only 3.2 Innings giving up 5 runs on hits. Millwood on the other hand looked amazing, pitching his best game of the season where he struckout 10 batters and only surrendered 3 Runs, a much better start than his previous ones. The Rangers offense did its thing and put up alot of runs. Catcher Gerald Laird homered in the 5th and went 3 for 3 at the plate. Rangers take the series opener and drop the A's to 9-7... Rangers Notes: - Ian Kinsler is 0 for 12 in his last 3 games. - Hank Blalock is leading the league in Doubles with 10 Player Of The Game: SP Kevin Millwood 8.2 IP, 9 H, 10 K's, 3 ER --------------------------------------------------- Hey, that was a suprising start from Millwood heh, however Oaklands lineup is junk. Skip ahead to the 7th where the Rangers offense EXPLODED once again where they scored 9 RUNS! to put the game well without reach. The Rangers are now rolling along like a juggernaut from Mars. They have a 3 Game lead on the A's now, with the Angels 4 games back and the Mariners 9 games back... Rangers Notes: - Ian Kinsler is 0 for 17 in his last 4 games. - Slugger Mark Teixeira went 5 for 5 at the plate and was a double away from hitting for the cycle. - Wes Littleton made his best relief appearance of the season, striking out 3 batters and giving 0 Runs in 1.2 Innings of work. redsox
Nice job on the dynasty. If I am not mistaken, it seems as if you have a 24-man roster. You are showing 7 relievers + 5 starters + 3 bench players + 9 position players = 24. BTW, its a really nice dynasty. Keep it up.

Pokeys
Game 3 of 3: Oakland Athletics(9-9) Vs Texas Rangers(13-5) Rangers Bats On Fire, Sweep A's Left: Ed Volquez striking out Durazo | Right: Some Bummed out A's! Game Wrap: Neither starting pitcher was really effective as Texas got on the scoreboard right off the bat in the 1st with a Sammy Sosa Home Run scoring 3. Blanton would settle down the next inning forcing Kinsler and Laird to fly out and striking out Guzman. The A's bats would come alive in 3rd where Kotsay hit a 2 run home run followed by a Nick Swisher Solo and a RBI Single by Durazo to go up 4-3. However that lead didnt last long as the Rangers would get to Blanton once again in the bottom of the 3rd, Blanton walked the first 2 batters and never settled down after that in the inning as the Rangers would score 8 runs in the Inning with some methodical at bats. Volquez would settle down a bit but was giving up alot of singles, and Kennedy pitched some solid innings after a rough 3rd Inning. Texas would add a few runs in the 8th on 2 RBI double by Blalock and an RBI Single by Tex. Oakland would go onto to hit a Grand Slam in the 9th but by then they were down by too many. Texas thumps Oakland in the 3 Game series by a combined score of 38-13 and swept them... Rangers Notes: - Ian Kinsler broke his 5 game hitless streak and is 1 for 21 in his last 21 AB's. - Mark Teixeira is on a tear, he went 10 for 14 with a HR and 8 RBI's in the series. - Kenny Lofton stole a season high of 3 Bases. Im normally a really good hitter and do knock around the A's whenever I play them but this has just been ridiculous lately. I know my lineup is pretty awesome and posseses great power but still... I dont want my team to be batting .368 come september thats unheard of lol. Well I mean id like that but I think its obvious I have to bump it up to MVP. Most of my guys batting averages are coming down now anyways though. Plus I do play in a hitters ballpark so that helps to a bit. Hehe 14 Runs on 14 Hits... Skills... Going to call up Nelson Cruz hes been doing well in Triple A batting .275 with 4 Home Runs and 8 RBI's...

Pokeys
Game 1 of 2: Seattle Mariners(5-15) Vs Texas Rangers(13-6) Rangers Comeback Falls Short Left: Michael Young caught leading off 1st to far in the 8th | Right: "Hey, We did it!" Game Wrap: Mariners took a 1-0 lead in the first on a Raul Ibanez Double. Ramirez pitched a very good game but gave up a leadoff triple to Lane in the 5th followed by a Nelson Cruz sac fly to tie the game. Seattle had some trouble hitting Chen but in the 7th they broke things open with a huge Blast from Beltre to make it 4-1. However the Rangers would strike right back in the following inning where Mark Teixeira jacked a home run with one man on base. 4-3 with 2 outs and a man on 1st in the 8th and Kinsler up, but out of nowhere Kinsler gets picked off at first and that ended the 8th. Kameron Loe got 3 quick outs in the top of the 9th. Rangers got back to back singles and had a man on first and 2nd with none out but Putz somehow got 3 pop fly outs against Blalock, Sosa, and Arias to close out the game. Rangers Notes: - Jason Lane went 4 for 4 and is batting a fantastic .475 at the plate. - Michael Young was caught stealing twice. - Kameron Loe pitched 2 Innings of relief without giving up a run as he continues his bid to get into the rotation. E: Mark Teixeira (2) Player Of The Game: 3B Adrian Beltre 3 for 4, 2B, HR, 3 RBI's, Game Winnings RBI --------------------------------------------------- Very good and intense game, I was stupid in the 9th there. The Mariners got out on top in the first inning hitting three consecutive singles to start the game followed by a 2 out RBI single from Guillen. Guillen then struck again in the 3rd Inning on a 3 run Home Run. The Mariners would add another 3 runs in the 5th to go up 8-0. Felix Hernandez was pitching a perfect game until the 7th where he gave up a back to back singles and then another single by Blalock scoring 2, Teixeira hit his 13th Home Run of the season bringing Blalock to cut the lead in half. Down 8-4 Seattle would finally get a run off of Reliever Kameron Loe on a Solo HR by Adrian Beltre. Texas would put another run on the board in the 9th but werent able to do much else as King Felix took care of business picking up his first Win of the season and giving the Mariners the 2 game series sweep... Rangers Notes: - Nelson Cruz got his 2nd RBI in as many games. - Teixeria hit his league leading 13th HR and is leading the league batting average and RBI's. - Jason Lane went 0 for 3 at the plate, theres a good chance he'll be back on the bench for the next set of games. Rangers management is pleased with his play however. E: Mark Teixeira (3) Player Of The Game: RF Jose Guillen 3 for 5, 2B, HR, 7 RBI's --------------------------------------------------- Lol, Hernandez is almost unhittable on MVP.
