Pokeys Posted April 26, 2007 Author Share Posted April 26, 2007 Game 3 of 3: New York Yankees(18-10) Vs Texas Rangers(17-12) Rangers Win Battle Left: Robinson Cano making a beautiful diving catch | Right: Chen throwing a strike and striking out Matsui Game Wrap: Back and forth game in the early goign with both pitchers pitching very well. Rangers Down 3-2 in the 6th Inning they would go take the lead as Laird hit a 2 Out Single to get on base and Jason Botts who was recently called up hit an RBI Triple to tie things up, follow by another 2 Out Basehit to score another and take a 4-3 lead. The Rangers would then pile on 3 more runs in the 7th to make it 7-3. Eric Gagne came out for the 9th and finished the game off, Rangers avoid getting swept and snap their 4 game losing skid. Yankees Notes: - Alex Rodriguez was walked intentionally 2 times. - Jorge Posada went 0 for 13 at the plate in the series. Rangers Notes: - Coming into the game Bruce Chen had 3 Strikeouts on the season, In this game alone he had 6. - Gerald Laird hit his 20th RBI of the season. - Eric Gagne pitched a scoreless 9th inning. Pokeys Posted April 27, 2007 Author Share Posted April 27, 2007 Game 1 of 3: Toronto Blue Jays(12-19) Vs Texas Rangers(18-12) Rangers Rock Jays In Series Opener Left: Texas Rangers dancing at home plate | Right: Chen throwing a strike and striking out Matsui Game Wrap: Despite not getting a hit or even on base in the first 2 Innings the Rangers offense didnt struggled at all as they hit 7 Home Runs in the game with Sosa and Blalock both hitting 2 home runs and the team had 22 Hits, most of them coming against reliever Tomo Ohka. The Rangers hit 3 consecutive home runs in the 6th to really put the icing on the cake at that point. Kameron Loe pitched great as it looks like he will be in the rotation full time, replacing Vicente Padilla. The Rangers take the first game of the series with ease. Blue Jays Notes: - Greg Zaun was hurt in the 6th Inning, No word on the extent of the injury. - Tomo Ohka gave up 5 Home Runs in the game. Rangers Notes: - Scott Feldman pitched a hitless 9th Inning. - Sammy Sosa hit his 595th Home Run. Millwood had more than a comfortable lead heading into the 6th up 4-0 but the Jays would finally solve him as Glaus would hit a leadoff single, Overbay would score him on a double right after that and Lind would hit a double to score overbay to make it 4-2, still with none outs Sal Fasano would smack one out a fastball low and inside to deep right to make the game all square. Aaron Hill would single, the Rangers would get a couple outs but before the inning was over Rios would hit a double to give the Jays the lead 5-4. The Rangers would not be able to score another run the rest of the way as the Jays win 5-4 in a tight ball game... Pokeys Posted April 27, 2007 Author Share Posted April 27, 2007 Game 3 of 3: Toronto Blue Jays(14-19) Vs Texas Rangers(18-14) Blue Jays Edge Rangers Left: Hank Blalock hitting his 2nd Home Run of the game | Right: Rangers suffer another tough loss Game Wrap: Toronto got on the scoreboard in the 3rd with a Solo HR by Rios but not long after in the same inning Texas would tie it up with a solo HR of their own by Jason Botts. Tied 1-1 the Jays would break the tie on a Vernon Wells blast to score 3. But in the bottom half of the Inning the Rangers would strike back with a Leadoff Home Run by Blalock and an RBI Single by Kenny Lofton. Down 4-3 in the 7th Inning Hank Blalock would go deep once again making the game all square. The Jays took back the lead in the 9th when Adam Lind hit a leadoff solo home run off of reliever Scott Feldman. B.J Ryan would come in for the 9th and force both Young and Kinsler to ground then he would cool off Blalocks hot bat forcing him to fly out. Jays win 5-4 again and take the series... Blue Jays Notes: - Vernon Wells hit his 10th Home Run of the season. - Alex Rios stole his 2nd Base of the season. E: Zambrano (1) Rangers Notes: - Hank Blalock went 11 for 15 with 5 HR's, and 6 RBI's in the 3 game series. - Scott Feldman was saddled with his first Loss of the season. Texas would score the games first runs in the 4th when they loaded up the the bases with and Catalanatto hit a 2 out single to score 2 and Lane hit a sac fly before that to make the score 3-0. The Yankees would get a couple runs the next 2 innings to come within 1 run but the Rangers would break the game wide open with a huge 7th where they scored 4 to make ie 8-2 and that basically sealed the deal... Blue Jays Notes: - Robinson Cano made 2 fielding errors. E: Cano 2 (3) Rangers Notes: - Kenny Lofton was caught stealing for the 6th time this season. - Trever Miller pitched 2.1 Innings of hitless work while striking out 1. - Jason Botts was hurt in the 2nd Inning, and will be out for the season with a Torn Knee MCL. Rangers would break the 1-1 tie in the 7th where Guzman hit a 2 out RBI Triple and Lofton hit an RBI single to make it 3-1, but that lead didnt last long as the Yankees woud score 3 on a Mientkiewicz home run to go up 4-1 in the bottom of the 7th. Vizcaino pitched a hitless 8th Inning, and Rivera pitched 9th and the rest was history as the Yankees win 4-3... Yankees Notes: - Jason Giambi went 0 for 3, and struckout each time. - Robinson Cano is 0 for 6 in the series. - Igawa won his 5th game of the year. Rangers up 9-7 in the 8th with set up man Akinori Otsuka coming in from the bullpen he would give up a leadoff single and the very next batter Jorge Posada would Homer to tie it up 9-9. Top of the 9th the Yankees would bring in closer Mariano Rivera and he immediately would get rocked as Hank Blalock hit out his 3rd Home Run of the game to right field followed by a Jason Lane solo HR to deep center to make it 11-9. In came the Rangers closer Eric Gagne he would give up a bomb to Jason Giambi and a couple of other hits after that but he was just barely able to get out of the 9th. The Rangers win a wild one 11-10 and take the series... Yankees Notes: - The Yankees hit 7 Home Runs, there were a combined 13 Home Runs hit in the game. - A-Rod went 0 for 5 at the plate. Rangers Notes: - Kameron Loe gave up 5 Home Runs. - Ian Kinsler went 0 for 5 at the plate. Player Of The Game: 3B Hank Blalock 4 for 5, 3 HR's, 4 RBI's --------------------------------------------------- Truely a bizzare game, the Yankees pitchers kept throwing high and inside and id be smacking them out and I kept throwing low and inside and they'd be smacking them out lol. Pokeys Posted April 28, 2007 Author Share Posted April 28, 2007 Game 1 of 4: Los Angeles Angels(16-21) Vs Texas Rangers(21-15) Rangers Hold On For The Win Left: Millwood striking out Howie Kenderick | Right: Angels Lose Angels Lose!!! Game Wrap: The Rangers got on the scoreboard early as Lofton hit a leadoff triple and Michael Young brought him in on a Sac Fly to give Texas a 1-0 lead. Lackey would then settle down a bit, and Millwood was pitching fantastic giving up only 1 hit in the first 3 innings but that would all change in the top of the 4th when Vlad hit an RBI Double to score Figgins and Matthews Jr hit a single to score Vlad that gave the Angels a 2-1 lead. The Angels would strike again in the 5th on a sac fly from Figgins to put them up 3-1, however the Rangers would find themselves back in the game in the bottom half of the inning as Lofton hit a leadoff Home Run to right and Catalanotto hit a 2 out RBI Single to tie it up 3-3. The very next inning the Angels would get the lead back as they hit back to back solo Home Runs to make it 5-3. The Rangers would play some small ball in the 6th and score 3 Runs to go back on top 6-5. Kevin Millwood would finish the 7th Inning with a 6-5 lead, so onto the bullpen in the 8th. In came set up man Wes Littleton and he immediately gave up back to back singles to Morales and Matthews Jr so out went Littleton and in came Jeremy Accardo, Accardo would be stuck with a sticky situation 2 on and none out. He would strike out the first batter hillenbrand, and the next play he took a ground ball off of the head but they got the out at second, out went Accardo with a concussion and in came the southpaw Trever Miller to face Orlando Cabrera, he would strikeout Cabrera swinging to get the Rangers out of top of the 8th with the lead still. Ian Kinsler would get on base in the bottom of the 8th, then he would move to 2nd as he stole 2nd. And Michael Young would bring him home on a single to give the Rangers some insurance. Gagne came out for the 9th and took care of business, striking out Molina, forcing Rivera to fly out, and getting Figgins to ground out. The Rangers win 7-5 and take the first of four games... Angels Notes: - Jose Molina struckout 3 times. - Jon Lackey suffered his 5th Loss of the season.
