carpenter
I use a PS1 controller with USB adaptor to play on my pc. When I try to pickoff to any of the bases,I press L2(button 5 on PC) and use my left analog stick to aim to the base. The problem is,all I can do by using the stick is throw a very slow ball to that base, without controlling the power. I'll never throw a runner out. I also played a lot with the keyboard, and that way I could choose the power by holding one of the directional arrows. Is there a way to make effective pickoffs with that joypad? Thanks in advance! tywiggins
I didn't know you can use your left analog stick like that. Try throwing to the base with the appropriate button on the right side. (Circle to throw to first base, Triangle to throw to second, Square to throw to third, X for a pitch out)
carpenter
I tried but the buttons you mentioned don't do anything while pressing L2. I use them to select pitch type. Any help?

Try this: From main menu in the game: My MVP My MVP Options Controller Config. Your controller is probably on the left side. Where it says offensive controls, press either the left or right arrow to get to defensive controls. Make your changes to 1st base, 2nd base, 3rd base, Home Plate. (Click on each one, then press the button on your controller that you want to use) Then click save.
carpenter
Solved...thank you very much,I didn't try that because I thought it would conflict with pitch selection!
