MLB 2K7????????????????????

I really dont understand how a game so graphically detailed and motion animated detailed can screw up some of the simplest things that make you hate the whole game. The swing stick is horrible. Why put the bunt on the click and the swing stick at the same time. More than half of the time it doesnt respond. When I want to simg they dont swing. When I dont want to swing then they swing. Then they will try to bunt because you accidentally push the righ stick to hard. Unbelievable!!!

Next the computer makes to many robs at the wall. They robbed me twice to keep me from taking the lead. So then I get one chance and of course he doesn't catch it.

It is totally impossible to determine a ball or a strike and less you know where the CPU is pitching. The check swing is the worse I have ever seen.

I really like the game but 2k really needs to tighten up the gameplay play BIGTIME and make some things like fielding more user controlled and batting a little easier to read. In my first two games of the season I had 20 strike outs. Unreal!!!!

I see why people low rate this game. 2k needs to take more time next year and then they wont have any competition. Otherwise the garaphics and animations and presentation are outstanding.

Yeah, the highlight reel is full of amazing plays made by the CPU, and I make a good play once every 5 games. Yet to rob a HR, and the booklet lies about how to check swing. But I still think its a great game. In my post over at EAMods, I reted this game 23* out of 30*.

Yeah I agree it is a great game. Its the closest thing I have ever played that actually resembles how a real life game would be. They added some great details. For example the rain, the dirt that moves when the ball is hit. everything is so life like. They just need to tighten up on the controls and even out the CPUs abilitys. I dont like the way the sliders are set up.

What do you rate MVP out of the box, and what do you rate it now (MVP 07 with mods). Just curious in comparison to MLB 2k7

The gameplay is a 10 in mvp but, the mods make the game a 20. But the speed of the game sometimes is just way to fast.

MLB 2k7 added so many life like details that can make me forget about mvp.

Well, I didn't install the 07 mod, heck, I didn't even install the 06 one. Ok, here't the comparison:

MLB 2K7

Graphics- 5*

Gameplay-4.5*

Audio-4.5* (only problem is Hideki Matsui, Morgan sometimes calls him OO-G-AH.)

Controls-4*(You cant check swing no matter what the booklet says, and you cant realy rob homers)

Soundtrack-0*(WORST SOUNDTRACK IN HISTORY OF MAN!)

Playability-5* (The only games that have low replayability IMO are games like Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2, Hitman, and the like.)

FINAL SCORE-23*/30*

NOTE: I have this for X-Box 360, but I assume its pritty much the same for whatever system. Great game, I fell in love with the CAP options, and the player/stadium details. I only found one audio clip that I didn't like, when Morgan says the dialogue between batter and ump ending with "Your killing me ump."

MVP 2005

Graphics-3.5*-4.5*(Actualy, this varies with whatever graphics card you have for PC. For any other system, I'd say a 4*, just to be nice)

Gameplay- 5*(EA realy hit this one on the head. The Gameplay is OUTSTANDING)

Audio-3*(The play by play is enough for you to want to kill yourself after about 300 games. I played over 1000 on MVP 2K5.)

Controls-2*-5*(If you use a keyboard, then 2*. Gamepad, then a 5*. Very easy to learn.

Soundtrack-2.5*-5*(Again, the soundtrack is OK for EA, but could be better. If you have PC, you could add whatever songs you like, and thats what makes it a 5*)

Playability-5*(As I said before, I played this over 1000 times)

FINAL SCORE-

Well, this has two scores. PC out of the Box, and PC Fully Worked.

PC Out of the Box-21*/30*

PC Fully Worked-27.5*/30*

Either Way, their both great games in their own aspects. MVP is considered the best Baseball game ever, while MLB 2K7 is better graphics, audio, and new generation appeal. It's also your preference. Keep in consideration that the price is pritty much the same for both, but you can trade in/return the system one. Also, go by the quality of your TV. I have a 27 inch TV thats over 10 years old, and this thing is awesome, imagine if I had a HDTV? Also, the PC fully worked will take up ALOT of space on your memory.

MVP Gameplay, Menu screens, Dynasty mode with minor league teams, fun facor + 2k7 Graphics (except for their weak stadiums) would be a perfect Game.

Oh and 2k7's feilding view is a joke. Why is there only one angle to view it, I want 2k7 to have mvp's fielding view!!!! plus all the cut scenes during the middle of throwing the ball to first base is soooooo ANNOYING!!! I WISH YOU COULD STOP THAT!!! the game had potential but now is just annoying. I played 2 games and sold it to someone else. I thought it would be good, but too many things wrong with it. The graphics are awesome!! but the rest is a joke. The MVP lead designer went over to 2k sports so hopefully he will get the hint and make an MVP BASEBALL just under the 2k name.

Peace, im out.

I don't have MLB 2K7 but i think that i'm going to buy MLB 2K8 when it will come out...for now i'm happy with MVP 05.

You know,if they did improve just a bit the gameplay,MLB 2K7 would be great but they didn't so i stay with MVP for now.

Am I one of the few people on here that is PC only? I haven't owned a console since the Sega Genesis, granted I'm old (31). I'm not even a huge gamer at that. I only play MVP, TW, & Madden.

I'm playing MVP until another PC baseball game comes out.

I think of baseball songs that make you either pumped up, or make you want to move. The only one that came close was Summertime, I think thats the name of it. I admit, I listen mainly yo rap, but I like some rock. Depends on the song.

in 2k7 you dont have to use the hit stick. you can switch that to just pressing a button.

Also.. I did like that the time of day changes during the game, IE: a game starting at 7 pm will show a sunset and end with it completely dark outside. I thought that was pretty cool.

If they just had better gameplay it would be a sweet game, but they dont, so it blows. Its so stupid. EA needs to find a way to make another mlb game, heck they could make one and just leave all the players information blank and the great people on this website could fill that all in. probably wouldnt take long. anyways...

GO MARINERS!

Exactly now I know what you guys mean about gameplay. It is horiible in 2k7. All the other features makes the game great. The fielding is horrible and it is impossible to hit. There is know way you can determine a ball or a strike b4 it gets to you, so you just guess. You feel like you dont have control of the players. Its just bad.

For 2k8 they need to revamp the fielding and player control, a better way to determine the pitches. It seems like there is a delay when you swing, thats bad. They definitely must change the sound of the bat hitting the ball and the ball hitting the glove, it needs more pop, like real leather. Its sounds like your catching with a plastic bag. The bats sound like the they have reverb for days. Needs more of a solid sound instead of like your breaking a tree limb. These few things make a great looking game horrible.

One more thing add a speech engine that matches the names that are edited. Its so stupid seeing there real name than the announcer callu=ing them something different.

Im going back to mvp.

I average at least 10 strikeouts per game and not having a good check swing makes it even worse. Ihope next year they make some serious changes to nexts years game. Its sad that ben brikmen was involved in this mess up.

I strike out alot as a batter, but Its not that hard to hit. The worst thing is fielding. As compared to what I read about the MLB 2K6, this game is perfect. Read the reviews on it.

I'm with you guys. I'm 22 and the last console I purchased was a Nintendo 64, on which I still regularly play All-Star Baseball 2001 (I'm in the midst of a full season). And the only games I play on PC are the standards -- MVP 05, Madden, and GTA: San Andreas.

once i got used to how the pitches moved so late, its not that hard to hit, its more realistic for me than mvp is, except for me striking out 8-10 times a game. i won opening day 9-0, then from there out, 5-4, 4-3, 10-4, 7-4, 8-15, i had to come back to win 3 straight games, and the last game was a thriller, with 8 combined homers and a crap load of pitchers. i give this game a 8/10, very good, but needs some things fixed.

I played All Star baseball 2003 for 3 years. It was a great game. It was sweet.
