Take this one! Let's see if someone gets this.

Your ballroom days are over, baby

Night is drawing near

Shadows of the evening crawl across the years

Ya walk across the floor with a flower in your hand

Trying to tell me no one understands

Trade in your hours for a handful dimes

It's the Doors....but I can't think of the name of the song....

Although, after rereading it, I think I may be wrong....must go and haul out my cd's.

Life During Wartime - Talking Heads...I think.

yup.

The indians send signals

From the rocks above the pass

The cowboys take positions

In the bushes and the grass

The squaw is with the corporal

She is tied against the tree

She doesnt mind the language

Its the beating she dont need

She lets loose all the horses

When the corporal is asleep

And he wakes to find the fires dead

And arrows in his hats

And davy crockett rides around

And says its cool for cats

Why am I soft in the middle

The rest of my life is so hard

I need a photo opportunity

I want a shot at redemption

Don’t want to end up a cartoon

In a cartoon graveyard

Five to One. It's from the Waiting for the Sun(?) Album. Had to call my wife at work. She is a huge Doors fan...knew I heard the lyrics before. She sings them in her sleep.

That song is "Cool For Cats" from Squeeze.

They are a UK band that gained fame in the late '70's. The fact that you know their music abc006, impresses me very much. I am a very big fan of rock music, from that era.

Thanks - my family has probably about 5 or 6 hundred records around the house (not kidding), and I've listened to probably 400 of them at least once. Try this:

Jenny said when she was just 'bout five years old

You know why parents gonna be the death of us all

Two tv sets and two cadillac cars -

Well you know it ain't gonna help me at all

Then one fine mornin' she turns on a new york station

She doesn't believe what she hears at all

Ooh, she started dancin' to that fine, fine music

You know her life is saved by rock n roll

I think the song is called "Rock 'N' Roll," but I don't know who did it.

I'm usually more of a fan of older music, but here is something new, heard it on the radio the other day.

"And we started at zero, and went different ways.

Now we're all out here wasting away

And if we started at zero, then how did things change?

It seems like just yesterday we were the same."

OK, one more.

Sweet lucy was a dancer

But none of us would chance her

Because she was a samurai

She made electric shadows

Beyond our fingertips

And none of us could reach that high

The Velvet Underground, from "Loaded" - one of their more poppy albums.

Although your world wonders me

With you majestic superior crackling hen

Your people I do not understand

So to you I wish to put and end

And you'll never hear surf music again

This one is whatever "If you'll be my bodyguard, I will be your long loooost paaalll" is. "Call Me Al"? "If You'll Be My Bodyguard"? Anyway, it's Paul Simon off of Graceland. And it makes me want to hang out with Ladysmith Black Mambazo.

Wow, that was fast... I figured that one would be hard to get. Where did you hear it DJ?

They are a cool little Canadian "Christian" Rock Band. I belong to a message board, www.giraffecycle.com. They promote Canadian Indie, and stuff like that. I heard about them last year via that site, and have "obtained" some of their music.

Kraw, I am not using google. I actually enjoy various types of music, and have a pretty good knowledge of a wide variety.
