olskoolmvp
Ok, im having a hard time figuring out what pitch will be a ball so i tend to just swing at every pitch. Is there a camera angle that helps?I have no probloms pitching all in the strike zone but im noticing my foes throw all balls even after they take a lead and in the last inning.Should i practice more? change my angle? or tell my foe to stop being a puss and challenge me? MarkB
Is there any specific reason you seem to like the Caps Lock key so much?
olskoolmvp
So you have no answer or advice ? IF I WAS WRITING LIKE THIS I WOULD UNDERSTAND.
sdoyle7798
Try this datafile. It helped me. It also has some better ball physics IMO. I suggest you try a few exhibition games with it to get used to it before taking someone on or using it in dynasty though.
medric822
Yeah. I agree with sdoyle7798. The pitch you'll probably have the most trouble with is the knuckle ball. It's a beast. But after a while, I got to be a champ at it.
MarkB
So you have no answer or advice ? IF I WAS WRITING LIKE THIS I WOULD UNDERSTAND. To be honest, I find your question somewhat stupid in the first place. The whole point of being a good pitcher is to keep the hitter guessing, and you, as the hitter, are saying you have a hard time figuring out which pitches will be balls and which will be strikes. If you just want to get some advice on being more patient, see a personal development specialist. If you're being thrown balls excessively in the latter stages of a game, then whoever you're playing isn't a particularly good opponent, and I'd discourage you from playing them again, if possible. For what it's worth, I'm using the default EA catcher's angle which is straight-on behind the plate. And if you had read and followed the rules of the forum, which you quite obviously haven't, you would have seen the following line; In discussion forums of this nature, typing with the CAPS lock on is considered shouting. Please show respect to your fellow forum members and ensure your Caps lock button is OFF before you post. Posts written entirely in CAPS will be removed. Standard English language dictates that the usual formatting of a sentence involves the use of an uppercase letter to begin the sentence, followed by lowercase for the rest of the sentence, using uppercase where necessary to show usage of nouns, etc. Based on that, your usage of uppercase is abnormal. I would strongly discourage it if you want to remain a permanent resident on the forum. Have a good day. :)

I just installed it and played a game, scoring 15 on 21 hits, 8 of which were homeruns...probably would have been more too but at the end I was getting bored and just blew past the past three innings cuz I wanted to hurry up and finish the game (I hate playing blow-outs, boring to me). I expected the new ball physics to make hitting more difficult, and take down the # of HRs, so it was quite a suprise. I saw it made pitching easier (Again, atleast to MVP 06), am I going to have to raise difficulting to MVP to get the same amount of difficulty as MVP 06's All Star? medric822
1) Yes, cant remember how to though, I think you do it ingame. 2) If not, adjust the sliders.

The first one can be done by modifying the datafile. Uncompress the datafile first. And then open it up with wordpad. Search for the following keyword without the quotes - "fieldingview6". The main things that you need to look out for are numbers 15, 16, 17, 41, 42, 53, 54. 15 x-axis setting 16 y-axis setting 17 z-axis setting 41 pitch 42 heading 53 field-of-view 54 distance relative field-of-view If you have the old datafile somewhere laying around, you can just open that up the same way and compare the values for the above mentioned numbers. All you would have to do then is the make the changes as needed. NOTE: This is assuming that you using the fielding view number 6. If you are using something else, then you would have to search for that particular number. Also, make sure to BACK UP your file before editing. If you are not quite comfortable with editing things like this, chances are you may mess something up. Hope this helps you. In regards to question number 2, you would need to adjust the in-game sliders and modify the datafile simultaneously to get the game play that you like. Its just a matter of trial and error. Take care.
DoubleD
Thanks a lot for the posts I feel real stupid for asking this, haha, but how do I tell which fielding view I'm using? In-game options, the only three fielding options I have are Broadcast, Zoom, and Aerial.
redsox
Its whatever you use for your pitching view. You know how there is an option that would look something like this - Pitch5/Bat4. That option. So if you are using Pitch6/Bat4 then you would edit fieldingview6. Hope that helps.
