Kccitystar
I've taken it upon myself to rebuild my current PC, and I've decided to use Newegg to purchase new parts for my PC. In general, I'd like to keep up with the times, and so I've picked a few parts I'd like to use: COOLER MASTER Centurion 5 CAC-T05-WW Black/Silver Aluminum Bezel, SECC Chassis ATX Mid Tower Computer Case http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16811119077 Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 ST3160215A 160GB 7200 RPM IDE Ultra ATA100 Hard Drive http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16822148212 ECS RS485M-M (V1.0) Socket AM2 ATI Radeon Xpress 1100 Micro ATX AMD Motherboard http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16813135011 JetWay X19PR-ED-512M Radeon X1950PRO 512MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16 Video Card http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16814153035 APIDA 1GB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Desktop Memory http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16820340017 AMD Athlon 64 X2 4000+ Brisbane 2.1GHz Socket AM2 Processor Model ADO4000DDBOX with a FREE copy of Rainbow Six: Vegas http://www.newegg.com/product/Product.asp?...N82E16819103774 All for the price of $502.94. I understand there is no OS on there yet, but because I'm studying CIS (Computer Information Systems) I'm assuming I get academic discounts on software . I don't have any optical drives because I will be using the ones I have now, my DVD-ROM drive and my DVD burner. How awesome is this?
mvp23
Wouldn`t be much better to buy a new pc?
Kccitystar
Wouldn`t be much better to buy a new pc? :protest: So I can have intergrated video, a Celeron-esque processor and crappy tech support? I think not!
thespungo
:protest: So I can have intergrated video, a Celeron-esque processor and crappy tech support? I think not! I'm quite upset with Newegg right now. I ordered some RAM and a new video card about 2 weeks ago, and I've since decided to return them (they didn't provide as much of an upgrade as I previously thought). But to return the items I have to: a) Pay to ship them back myself. Pay a $27 re-stocking fee. So make sure you need what you're getting, otherwise returning them will be a pain. mvp23
not necessarily. You can add 300 to 500 more and buy a really nice piece of hardware.
Pirate
not necessarily. You can add 300 to 500 more and buy a really nice piece of hardware. Or he could stick with his setup and have a much nicer peice of hardware and save $300 to $500. I need to upgrade my PC, but I just paid taxes and comming up with 500 bucks isn't easy. I'll take all your old stuff I am sure it's better than what i have ;)

Yeah but I'm not going to add optical drives or a power supply, this is just a standard overhaul. I only do this once every 3-4 years, the last time I actually bought something like RAM or a video card was in 2003 so I'm kind of long overdue
