DoubleD
When it comes to close plays at 1st (i.e. bunting for a basehit, soft ground ball, ect), is diving head first faster then just running out the play? Or is it better to run it out? From what I've seen, it looks to be about equal, but wondering if anybody has more information on it. I also know that diving has a good chance of injury, but I normally play w/ injuries off, so it's not normally a problem for me.
kgbaseball
Running through the bag is always faster, but since diving is a split second decision, runners' instincts tell them to dive.
kazmatsui10
sometimes diving can be beneficial...like when the throw is the path of the runner and diving prevents the runner to be tagged by the 1st basemen
