OMAHA, NE - Alex Gordon was oh so good for Kansas City in Spring Training the Royals elite prospect skipped over the "Big O" en route to the big leagues. Saturday night, thanks to an error by the manufacturer of an Alex Gordon Bobblehead doll, the Omaha Royals are forced to return the favor and skip over an "o" in Gordon's name.

The Rosenblatt Stadium gates will open at 4:00 p.m. Saturday for the Royals 6:05 p.m. game vs. the Nashville Sounds and, as advertised, the first 1,500 fans will receive bobbleheads of Gordon in his Lincoln Southeast High School uniform, courtesy of Coca-Cola, WOWT-Channel 6 and 1620 The Zone.

Unfortunately, when the dozens of cases of bobbleheads arrived at the Royals offices earlier this week, the team's Assistant General Manager of Business Development, Martie Cordaro, received quite a shock. Cordaro - who had approved a proof of the bobbleheads months earlier - was stunned to see the base of each doll spelled "Alex Gordn". (As you might imagine, Cordaro's quote for this news release also had to be deleted).

Due to the manufacturer's error, all fans who receive the misspelled bobblehead Saturday night will also receive a voucher that they may redeem at any Royals home game beginning July 12th - or, after that date, they may just visit the Royals administrative office during business hours (Monday-Friday, 9 am-5 pm) to pick up their corrected doll.

To poke a little fun at the error, the Royals Powerade team members will also be handing out "O's" to the first 1,500 fans who receive the bobblehead Saturday night.

There's no word yet on whether the "Gordn" bobblehead will skyrocket in value, as did a Gordon baseball card when it was prematurely released in the 2006 season.
