Now i'm at home and i'm in real pain. The greatest thing is that my dad doesn't want to believe me. When i heard this words i said " **** you, do you think that is funny? Huh? I'm in real pain and you don't want to believe me! my left ******* eye is becoming black and you don't want to belive me? You're on crack!" That's all. One last thing "dad...**** you!" ezdriver
I'm assuming you and dad don't generally get along too well. Still....no way to talk to your dad. ez Edit: Almost forgot - hope the eye heals up fast. Put a big, juicy steak on it. Seems to help.
sully04
Had something like this happen to me once, but mine hit me in the nose. I broke it, and the stitches cut my nose open. Took a couple of stitches to close it up. I moved to the outfield after that.

EDIT: bad news, guys. I can't breathe well so tomorrow i'm going to the hospital. Is this normal? I've just figured out that the ball hitted the bottom part of my eye and a small part of my nose. I feel so bad. EDIT 2: finally my dad believe me! He said to me " umm...yeah....i'm sorry if i treated you like a lier, if you need anything just ask." Homer
bad news, guys. I can't breathe well so tomorrow i'm going to the hospital. Is this normal? I've just figured out that the ball hitted the bottom part of my eye and a small part of my nose. I feel so bad. not being able to breath is never normal. you should see someone immediately. but this can occur. the eye socket itself is surrounded by bone of course, which is comprised of a couple of bones that make up your nose. if you fractured it, it can easily deviate your septum, thus causing breathing difficulty. i am assuming that the breathing difficulty is through the nose and not the lungs (chest)? and sorry for your pain. it sux. i've done it myself. good luck with everything. trot2millah
you should see a doctor. a friend of mine got hit in the eye by the throw (this was actually his eye so it was more serious) and the doctor ordered him no baseball or any activity for multiple months, he got injured in march and hes just now getting back

el_jefe061
I took a ball in the mouth once warming up in the pen because I was watching the game and the guy catching for me threw it back without me knowing. Definitely not as bad as getting it in the eye, though. I believe that's called the "Moe Green Special".
superciuc
Ok, today i can breathe well but it hurts more then yesterday and my eye is purple/green. I don't have any fracture to my nose. At the ospital they said that i'm lucky because i could become blind. I've got a baseball game this Sunday and i think that i'm going to play it. And HLFR, in Italy the nurses are really fat. medric822
Granted a ball in the eye hurts, try one in the groin. Well, try one made of leather in the groin I should say. Also, on the topic of nurses, I was blessed to have every old ugly nurse when I was in the hospital, and I even had 2 male nurses. I wished I took my shop teacher up on his offer to do it in class, lol.

It hurts?" yes, it hurts, you idiot, i'm in a hospital, so i think it hurts. Pathetic. They are just pathetic.
medric822
Yeah, well, I started to raise hell when one said he was going to give me a sponge bath, lol. He didn't though. Just what I needed, a guy poking around down there when I'm too weak to defend myself and with a cathider (I probably mispelt that) in me. I left all pride behind in that room. carter
superciuc, how's your eye sight? If you can't see out of the eye that got hit or if your eye is swollen you may not want to play this weekend... just to make sure you don't get hit again. Best of luck in your recovery though. medric822
Yeah, carter brings up a good point, test your sight with both eyes. Look straight ahead, close one eye and hold up a finger on a hand off to the side until you can barely see it. If you cant see it that far with your bad eye, dont bother playing. By the sounds of what happened, you were playing an infield position (forgive me, I didn't read the first post in this thred). If you were to play anywhere, play an OF spot with your bad eye closest to the line. IE, your left eye is bad, so play RF. Your right eye is bad, so play LF. This way, the CF is another set of eyes out there.
Damon_Slayer
I took a ball in the mouth playing first base once. The shortstop fielded the ball and when he stood up the sun was right behind him. He disappeared just as he was throwing the ball. All I had was a fat lip, but it sucked.

I can't see very well with my left eye but my doctor said that i will recover my eyesight in 4-5 days, 3 days at best. There's a good thing: i can see well when i have the 2 eyes open. My trouble is hitting because when i'm at bat i close my right eye. I could pitch Sunday (we use DH in our league).

EDIT 2: finally my dad believe me! He said to me " umm...yeah....i'm sorry if i treated you like a lier, if you need anything just ask." I wouldn't let an injury like that prevent me from playing the position again. Last year, I got nailed by a liner right under my knee-cap, just a few micro-seconds after I released the ball. Ball was hit so damn hard, that it ended up almost in the right field corner (....and our luck, outfield shifted to left for a right-handed hitter who likes to pull the ball). Missed two weeks, but came back on the mound, throwing strikes and not worrying about getting hit. I'm sure you'll forget about all this very soon.......so when the coach tells you to play 3B, don't worry......ball in the eye will happen only once, so make sure you keep you head down. medric822
Switching from OF to 3B is a little difficult. It's usually not something you can learn on the fly, you have to have alot of practice there.
